Video: Ron Artest’s Amazing Postgame Interviews

The best part about the Lakers’ win last night was the reaction by Ron-Ron (who basically saved the Lakers in Game 7 with his outstanding play) to earning his first title. He was simply incredible with his postgame comments. Too many gems to choose from. Enjoy:

I loved that he thanked his shrink. Honestly if I knew who it was I’d sent a thank you bouquet myself. Congrats Ron. You were man enough to say that a failure for repeat was on you and you delivered in the biggest game of your life.

great interviews. as funny as they are, i really like them just because they show that he’s not all about pride and image. he’s not afraid to say that he needed help and he got it, he’s not afraid to point out his past mistakes, and he’s not afraid to be himself. good to see from a fellow St. John’s boy.

    “David might not like that.”

There is one player I always hoped would never win a ring…oh well, he played fantastic last night.

  • K.a.

    Acknowledge meeeeeeeeeee
I may dislike the lakers, but ive loved fishers game post interview n these.

You can hate the Lakers all you want (and I do!) but it’s impossible not to appreciate Ron Ron’s passion for the game. Yeah he’s a bit off but he seems to truly care about people and is as selfless as an NBA all-star can be. People forget that he took a paycut to join the Lakers. He could have easily made more than 30 mil for 5 elsewhere. He wanted to win. I respect that.

REAL! Congrats Ron you earned it. I respect the fact that he not only acknowledges his weaknesses, but is working with someone to improve! We could all earn a little something from Ron Artest.
    Thanks for posting these gems!

what no one can argue from yesterday’s game is that ron wanted his ring badly!!!

  • Bruno

and next step to ron is the white house with obama

  • Robb

He deserves his ring, specially after saving the game yesterday.

Hi.La.Rious. It’s true what he said though, kobe NEVER passes him the ball. I at the time, think kobe thought he was fisher or something. Whatever, ron my psychiatrist would like to thank your psychiatrist.

  • http://aspov.blogspot.com Cheryl

Bruno! I’d forgotten about that. I will LOVE to see and hear what Ron Ron has to say to Obama. That’s going to be awesome.

  • ezra

I was really impressed with what he said about his days in indiana and how he felt that he let everyone down, because he did, but it shows that heart that he can admit it

  • All Day

  • PlanetAsia14

Haha, I love RonRon. As I can tell, he’s not “all the way there”, but hey, neither am I haha. :) Thanks for the honesty and making people aware that it’s ok to be like that, you’re amazing. Oh, and this is too funny… I love the first clip where it shows Kareem’s face, he’s probably thinking: “Damn, Kobe just passed me as the greatest Laker of all time.” Ha…

  • Tweaks

Man, in moments like this i realize i’m so blessed to be part, even as a fan, even only as a collective contributor, man all those years since 9th grade ,.on kobe’s game on his evolution…and on THOSE –>>Lakers…….with PHIL i mean!!!!!!!!!!. I am so blessed to have spent my best years cheering for such an organization (what a f* up word) …such a dream man! This is every fan’s best dream… Ron-Ron is like that peak of the laughter and sheer good karma that such a success…and such a obvious mark in history can do to a fan. Thanks Lakers. If feeling like this ONCE would be the ONLY reward of being a fan…………i’d still be a LAKER FOR LIFE!

  • Toni Kukoc

    @PlanetAsia14, re-think your last statement…

  • RedRum

This is the genius of Phil Jackson, Artest is the reason he is the best coach in the history of any sport. He managed Rodman, he managed Artest, made them champions. Look at this young happy man. he is a champion. He is a new man. Phil did that. I am not american, I do not have a team in the NBA, I was supporting the Celtics in the Finals, but it is impossible not to bow to the brilliance of Phil Jackson.

“Why are you staring at me, daughter?” LOL that was awesome! What a cute little kid. He’s got a nice, supportive family. One of my favorite players in the NBA still. Congrats, Ron-Ron!

I’m happy for him, especially since he played for the Rockets last year!
He was the only player on the Lakers I was cheering for.
    Congratulations sir!
BTW, I think he just gained a LOT of support from people who had previously dismissed him.

  • wordisbond

Hate that the Lakers won, but i am happy for Ron. His sincerity, beats the sound bite pomp and arrogance of someone who always knows what to say and how to say it.
I love the fact that he brought his whole family up there to share with him, says a lot about who he is and who he is trying to be.
    Go Ron!
