For Old Time’s Sake: My cousin Vince is nice. I’m nice too.

TMac may have had his best stats on the MAGIC when he wasn’t sharing a team with his cousin, but straight out of high school this boy was unstoppable. Had the handles of a PG, the length of a PF, and the jumper of a SG which gave him free reign on the basketball court. You don’t respect his J, you pay for it… you press him, you pay for it. The man scored 13 points in 35 seconds… against the Spurs….against Bruce Bowen! He could have been shooting from the Astrodome and it would have gone in. Not much you can do when someone is in the zone like that. Yeah, TMac ain’t the same but let’s appreciate what he gave us once upon a time.

Two great players whom have been hit hard by injury.. Little knowen fact- Martell Webster is Jason Terry’s cousin.. And Eddie House is married to Mike Bibby’s sister… Just sayin’.., small world.

as a Suns fan, i wish we’d signed Tmac for next to nothing instead of trading Barbosa for Hedo’s lazy ass.

I love that McGrady’s biggest knock as a player (not achievement wise) was that he wasn’t any good defensively.
In Toronto, he was their designated stopper while Vince was the go-to scorer.

PLEASE DO ONE ON THE K-MART NETS DAYS!!!

I do wish T-Mac had the same Kobe work ethic. As good as he was I always wondered why his game looked so “raw”. His shooting, dribbling etc. all looked like he relied on natural talent.

IMO tmac still could be a good player, either sixth man or starter (with a reduced role). All that he has to do is accept his role, and stay HEALTHY. Wish he plays with chitown, accepts his role, be a good guy and get out of the 1st round!

tmac was a beast before, probably on the level of kobe while on the magic. if he stayed with vince, they could have been contenders. Crazy handles, athleticism, shooting touch, all around game. Only his defense was soft, but it aint that bad. He could win 50 games in the season with a not-so-good line up. I remember he got H-Town to the playoffs (almost home court advantage) in the very tough west conference without Yao Ming most of the time. Plus it’s not entirely his fault he aint past the 1st round. He needs a team, and playoff time his partners (mostly G.Hill, Yao) were either injured or less than 70% healthy when they played!

Man I was at that Rockets-Spurs game. The Rockets were pretty sorry in this one and the only reason why we stayed was because I had a friend who was a Power dancer and my nephew wanted a picture with them. If I had gone without him, I would have missed the greatest comeback win in Rockets history. He was thanking me on the way to the game, but I was thanking him afterwards, lol!

I’m a big Kobe/Lakers fan but the 13 in 35 secs to me is possibly the most impressive thing I’ve seen over the last 10yrs in the NBA. I especially love that half the arena was empty and it provided an unexpected reward to the loyal fans who stuck it out to the end

Ahh man the good ol’ days when T-Mac was one of the best in the game and injury-free. Hope he can make a comeback.

  • oms23

there was a time where he had a shootout from waaay downtown with another team its in youtube if i can recall he hit like 4 or 5 long bombs without trying he was already playin for the rockets but this dude can shoot but now days he has lost his first step he should adjust and improvise like how jordan did in his later years

  • http://slamonline.com the underrated one

Holy now that I think about it, if you took all the players that ever played on the raptors and put them on a team (in their prime) that team is just below the lakers, celtics, talent wise. I mean tmac, vc, hakeem, mighty mouse, bosh(who hhasnt even reached his prime yet) my goodness!!

I happily remember the days.. Debating at a moments notice about his potential then literally feeling the pain of “is he gonna get out of the first round?” question. Why’d (you) always have to take it there.. It’s fine, I’ll remember the good times.. And wonder what could’ve been in Toronto… VC & TMac killing any, ANY competition……

    Dont forget this one though..
