  who are the most posterized players in NBA history? Ewing has to be up there. Not that it’s a bad thing, more a testament to size and longevity. And playing 10 games a year against Jordan and Pippen.

  just a damn beast. this dunk is far better, in my opinion, than Jordan’s famous one on Ewing yet we don’t see it nearly as many times. people GREATLY underestimate Scottie when they speak of MJs titles/greatness. I honestly think this guy is EASILY top 30 all-time maybe top 20. He could shoot, pass, run the offense, and lock down literally any position 1-5. I’m not saying MJ wasn’t great but he gets A LOT of extra credit for Scottie’s hard work. F*** Skip Bayless!

  Ewing is one of my favorite players ever but he may be the posterized ever. And by posterized I mean actual posters, the ones you can find in the poster racks in stores with the Kurt Cobain and 2pac ones. As for Pip, circa 97, i actually liked his game better than Jordan. As a wingman/slasher he was the deadliest. Arms as long as a center that wraps around a guard on D. He actually had the toughest defensive assignments..Stockton, Payton, Miller, etc,..

  @Erika, the dunk itself is definitely better, but the baseline fake MJ put on Starks and Oak are what make the complete play better to watch. Shot blockers get dunked on. The best shot blockers of all time have also been in some of the best posters of all time Zo, Mutumbo, Ewing. Guys nowadays just move out of the way.

  Scottie was top 5 in the league at one point. no weaknesses to his game. he’s also the best perimeter defender of all time, I think, and it’s an absolute joke that he was never DPOY.

  Jordan should never have won DPOY while there was a guy on his own team that was infinitely more deserving. Just another example of how the league and the media (and the refs) kissed MJ’s ass and gave him the kinda special treatment that no athlete before or since has come close to receiving.

  Two great passes on the break to set him up too. Jordan without Pippen? Pippen without Jordan? Not even worth considering. They were the top tandem in NBA history. Enjoy them for what they were together and not what they might have been apart.

  Rubens, how is she hating. All she’s doing is stating the facts. Jordan was great but damn people love to talk about him like he was some kind of deity. Which leads to the media gassing him up even more. Pippen was a superior defender compared to Mike and anyone who disagrees has been in MJ’s basement too long.

  One of the most underrated players in his era, he had an all around game, and went deep into the playoffs without Jordan. I’m not sure but I believe the Bulls got eliminated the series before the eastern conference championship. And went to the western conference championship with Portland without Jordan. He had everything to do with the 6 rings as much as Jordan.

  pippen was a joy to watch… locked down everyone.. dunked on everyone.. played his role to perfection with MJ.. forget being the best ‘robin’ in history.. dude is a champion.. and earned every ring… but this dunk in particular was great.. because he was considered ‘soft’ and ‘fragile’.. and the knicks were bulying and punking him.. and this reminded the nation that he was the second best player on that floor..

  Pippen is one of the greatest defenders ever to play in the NBA. If people remeber his skills he always did whatever needed to help his team win. Guard the best player, pass, rebound, score–Pippen doesn’t get the respect he deserves and will never, but to me he is one of the greatest all around players to ever play.

  to anyone, especially russ: russ did this top 10 players to never be named mvp post a few years ago, and scottie was one of them. what i’m asking is, does anyone know where that scottie pippen youtube highlight mix, with kanye’s big brother playing in the background is? i think that was the sickest highlight mix i’ve ever seen of any player in any sport. it basically showed scottie’s sickest plays, but painted this picture that he’s being overshadowed by “big brother jordan.” ufcking youtube took it down cause of the music copyright and i haven’t been able to find it

  Ewing did get boomed on quite a few times. That happens when you actually rotate on D to help out your teammates instead of just watching from the weak side like most of today’s players do. Ewing was also under the notion that he could block everything, so he got a lot of Spalding in his mug. No player in the league’s history got dunked on more than spaghetti-man Shawn Bradley. Dunking on Bradley was such a customary practice that it even got its own nickname: Bradley baiting. Young players in the league hadn’t made their bones until they threw one down on Bradley. So many sick dunks, but I think Ed O’Bannon got him the best with a powerful lefty cram.

  Just came from the Magic article and this is another article worth discussing, LOL. I don’t think there is a more underrated player than Scottie. He was the best perimeter defender I’ve ever seen, guarded the best player on the team 1-4, primary ballhandler and was good for 20-5-5. I’m sure MJ busting his ass in practice everyday helped make him great but Scottie’s game complimented Mike’s game perfectly. He did all the dirty work like guarding the best guy and handling the ball that kept Mike fresh to score all those points and he still got his. And Mike was nowhere near Scottie as a defender. And someone above said Scottie > Kobe, I don’t know if that’s true but if I were starting a team, I would probably take Scottie over Kobe cause if the other team has Kobe, Scottie would lock him down…… And this is the best dunk in an NBA game by the way.
