For Old Time’s Sake: The Real Pacman

No, this is not a Manny Pacquiao highlight reel. This is my man, ROBERT PACK. Don’t know how many of you young guns know who he is, but before Nate Robinson and other high-flying PGs starting dunking over the league’s 7-footers, Mr. Pack helped pave the way down the lane for little guys. I’d describe him as a mini Shawn Kemp (featured right here last week). Kemp was also one of Pacman’s many victims as you’ll see at the end of the vid.

  • rayraynz

Pack-Man had hops and power! One reason I rock the number 14

  • Bruno

there’s a LOT of players better than him for this old time’s sake

  • kh

Pack was an average player with amazing hops!
Am I the only one who is completely blown away at the fact that someone took the time to put this highlight footage together, with PAC man graphics and all!!! Impressive. What’s next a Paul McPherson highlight reel? I’d love that.

can i make request for tim hardaway next

  • bakers’ dozen (12-13)

I was at most of those home games for Denver in this reel. The most amazing ones were over Thurl Bailey and teh Timberwolves…but the best was the one over Shawn Kemp since it was in round 1 of the 1994 playoffs. People forget that Pack, a sub-average 3 point shooter had about 4 threes in that game.

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

Groves, he was featured there playin in europe, not exacly elite i presume. but i really dont know, nice punches on 7 footers, mad bunnies

That dunk on Kemp was in that 1994 playoff series when Denver beat Seattle right?

Vid had a nice concept but it sucked. And who was that Euro he punched? It looked like the precursor to Rubio

    I feel old.

Pacman was the dopest. quite hating and complaining, you fools.

  • unrel

he was like shannon brown is today.. you don’t really care what he does or doesn’t do well.. you’re just waiting for that dunk.. loved pack’s highlights..

  • solito

Packman ment business from the first step into the lane. There was no finger roll in his repetoir ; ) He was out to yoke on anybody. How about a Kendal Gill real? Since were talking forgotten bunnies and dunking on 7 footers…

Im from Dallas and I remember when we traded the 3 j’s and they tried to sell Robert Freakin Pack and Shawn Bradley as the cornerstones of the franchise…pretty much despised Rob from that point on lol….i second the Kendal Gill reel tho

man there were better dunks back in the day before they put in the stupid charge circle. now people just camp there outside of the circle looking for a charge. Instead of inside trying to block. now it’s even harder to dunk on people. take the stupid circle away!

  • MikeC.

It was better back in the day when dudes were allowed to at least glance in the direction of the other team after a big dunk. Now a dunker pretty much has to leave the arena after a dunk or risk a T.

  • logues

@Bruno: Hi Hater! man pack was only like 5’9 or 5’10… stop hating thats ridiculous, dude had mad hops

  • rob stewart

My name is Robert and I used to rock #14 just like him. I can’t believe there are people young enough to not know who he is!!! Man I’m getting old

Shout out to the vid creator for throwing Reggie Noble on the background music. Heat rocks.

2ndly, Shawn Bradley is the true nba “poster” boy.

    Pack had Boosties!
