Video: Austin Rivers Crosses Up John Wall

There’s already been a lot to talk about at the Elite 24 this week, but how ’bout this high school senior of NBA bloodlines crossing up and fleecing the NBA’s No. 1 overall draft pick?

Austin Rivers has serious game. he got a burner and sick handles. He gonna kill it in college.

  • brett Posted: Aug.27 at 4:57 pm
Big deal it was one play, would have been impressed if he did this a few times… Jeremy Lin lit Wall up in the summer league so this isn’t too amazing. Looking forward to seeing this kid play in college though.

Austin in the man. Come on to Duke for the repeat.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Aug.27 at 5:15 pm
damn so 13/5 is now called LIGHTING someone up, don’t let an average showing in a summer league game fool ya, bra. Wow, what is this world coming to.

  • Overtime Posted: Aug.27 at 6:18 pm
I dont know about Cousins, but wouldnt be surprised atal if Wall wasnt best out of his class in ten years time

  • tavoris Posted: Aug.27 at 6:32 pm

    meh!

  • Moose Posted: Aug.27 at 7:46 pm
@brett: Getting lit up by Jeremy Lin isn’t that uncommon.

Was a nice play!! If people make a career out of playing basketball, everyone is bound to get crossed-up, dunked on, rejected, or one way or another, embaressed.. Its part of the job… (I know, Im captain obvious).

  • BossTerry Posted: Aug.27 at 8:39 pm
Anyone know what happened to Doc Rivers son? Last I saw he was @ Georgetown…? Or Patrick Ewing Jr???

  • BossTerry Posted: Aug.27 at 8:51 pm
    * Doc’s other son.

  • Red Posted: Aug.27 at 10:07 pm
It’s either Evan Turner or Xavier Henry for me.

  • rob stewart Posted: Aug.27 at 10:48 pm
Just like the Bible says, no one is perfect, all have fallen short. I imagine EVERYONE has gotten done by someone. Iverson crossed Jordan, Jordan dunked on Dikembe, Kobe dunked on Yao, etc etc etc

  • brett Posted: Aug.27 at 11:02 pm
@Moose… Ya I’m a fan of him but I’m just saying it’s not like Wall has never been scored on

  • brett Posted: Aug.27 at 11:05 pm
@JTaylor21..Why you hating? haa the stats don’t really matter because it was summer league. Maybe I should have said that he scored on Wall consistently, you happy?

  • Enigmatic Posted: Aug.27 at 11:27 pm
@Boss Terry – Knicks just got Patrick Ewing Jr. back, and Jeremiah Rivers now balls for Indiana. As far as the video goes – “meh” is right, indeed.

  • Lee Posted: Aug.28 at 3:11 am
The comments are spot on. If this daily video ish had been around when Jordan was in high school, maybe we would have seen him getting cut from his team… and should we have taken anything from that regarding his future? Hell no!

A while back, slam made a big deal about Wall dunking on Stackhouse. It just comes back around i guess. One play over someone who’s not known as a dunk blocker. People are bored and gotta amp it up.

Nice move but not THAT good. Rivers made a simple crossover move and Wall looked like he wasn’t even trying to play D. Will like to see how Austin hoops in college.

  • The Nupe Posted: Aug.30 at 1:27 pm
Two consecutive nice plays by the youngster. Crossing over Wall was nice and IS an indication of what NBA level PG’s will be able to do to him. However, I think the Wiz know that going in. What I would be worried about is the second play when he got fleeced. His ball handling and playmaking is why he got drafted and if a HS kid got him – it’s something to be concerned about. Everybody gets crossed over or dunked on etc. from time to time, but PG’s don’t get crossed and then striped on back to back plays. The worlds not fallying but just saying…
