Video: Michael Gilchrist Ready for Big Blue

The homies at One Entertainment released a mixtape today of future Kentucky Wildcat, Michael Gilchrist, showcasing his skills over the past two years. Gilchrist has long been considered to be one of the top prospects in the Class of 2011. Unlike many top prospects, Gilchrist doesn’t get by on pure athleticism. His offensive game is already clean and polished. All signs point to him becoming a great college player.

does he have an outside shot?

^ Good Questions – Kid looks like he plays hard. As a slasher, he’s the American Dream but does he have an outside game to complete/compliment it?

  • Da Hood

I hope he stays 6’6 and becomes the next great 2 guard in the League.

  • T-Money

he’s a loooooong 6’6. i’d be curious to see his reach. i see some paul pierce in him, crafty. oh, and calipari stays winning.

Could be the next nice one and done kid in the association…The kid is raw and at only 16 he’s
got plenty of room to grow and learn. I work with his cousin out here in Germany, he’s got a good
head on his shoulders too with a tough support group of family around him. Skys the limit…

  • Ronson

There’s no way this kid is 16 years old and a Senior at a prep school. 16 Is the average age of a prep school freshman/sophomore.

    dirty spin move…

Since he’s 16 he still has a lot of time to expand his game. He does have to improve the form on his jumper as there is a hitch in his release. When I first heard of Gilchrist it was reported he was expected to grow to be close to 7 ft. tall. This was part of the reason he was so hyped, and if he has stopped growing, expectations should be tempered a bit.

http://www.slamonline.com/online/the-magazine/2009/03/remember-this-name/ – Strange how Aggrey had him listed at 6-8 two years ago.

  • Jordan

This kid could definitely be an elite NBA player, IF he stays in college. That doesn’t go for just him, this goes for all of these coveted young players. Don’t let the facade of fame and money detour you from getting an education and molding your game to its greatest potential. The NBA isn’t going anywhere.

  • John

i dont think he can be one and done because of his age similar to abdul gaddy

  • JTaylor21

Damn that coach Cal is a goon and a half with the recuiting. Kentucky is gonna be a beast for as long as he stays there.

  • Clos1881

@jordan the NBA might not be going anywhere but his health could see Willis Mcgahee desean butler ect ect

  • Da Hood

He turn 17 in sept. he is young for his class…i see him doing 2 years in lex…then take the league by storm.

  • slamfan4life
