God Teaches The ‘Shammgod’

As you may recall, a few weeks ago Ben spent time filming a Converse commercial alongside Carlos Arroyo, Julius Erving and God Shammgod. And while the commercial isn’t out yet, thanks to our friends at Converse, we’ve got some dope footage from that day. Here’s the first of two vids we’ll be unveiling. Look for the next one later this week.

For the record, he didn’t invent that move.

  • KennyD

You fancy huh? (talking to you homeless guy)

  • Czar Ruke

    that was lame

  • JTaylor21

Streetball is deader than auto tune.

  • Yesse

He didn’t really learn the move, but apparently he recovered quick with that skateboard, lol.

I think I’m right off camera. Fun day in BK for sure.

  • Sanger

Steve Nash is better dribbling while on a skateboard

  • Toni Kukoc

Slam guys, how is this cool or special? i mean i love you guys and ‘God’ as a legend, but look at this clip and tell me whats exclusive, neat, cool, interesting, fancy, and so on, for you to “unveil” it?

God Shammgod, the greatest hooper name of all-time to go along with the greatest handle of all-time. Fitting…

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

definitely not the greatest handle of all time Bryan, but one of the better ball handlers. Yeah, appears like he’s been in the gym since I last saw him, perhaps on a comeback trail…maybe he can get picked up by a decent club overseas

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

well @Jas make us the smartest man in the room, tell us who did

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

@Rick Kamla: ORLY?! Name one better? I can’t think of another player that has an actual dribble move named after him. BTW – ask Kobe where he learned his crossover.

  • JTaylor21

@BCraw Zeke, JStock, Pistol Pete, and AI.

  • http://slamonline.com Yknot

No@JTaylor21 Kobe admits he learned the crossover from Sham! Lots of haters here, learn your history, one of the greatest ballers ever! Find some Friars highlights before you post. Bet you guys don’t even know Shaheen Holloway and Tim Thomas stole the McD’s show from Kobe either!

@JT21: No, hell no, no, and no. Shammgod had better handles than all of those guys. There’s a difference between being a good ball-handler (which those guys were) and having some ish with you. God Shammgod had some ish with him. Besides, if you’ve never seen him play with your own eyes, then you’re not qualified to even participate in this discussion. Sorry…

    @Yknot: Kids these days…SMH

  • Papa Smurf

I like Sham, but Zeke and Pistol Pete are on another level – and I’m just talking about handles.

  • rob stewart

sham looks like he put on a few lb’s. lookin kinda baron davisish

  • http://dsfjklf.com Jukai

Yeah, Shammgod’s handles were so good, he played in the NBA for 20 games before he was booted.
    Sigh…

  • Frankie

I thought Joachim Noah was taller..

  • http://www.slamonline.com The Big Fundamental

    Ohohhhahehehahahahha

  • http://slamonline.com Yknot

@Jukai having handle doesn’t equal a long career in the NBA. Doesn’t diminish the fact that his handle was/is sick!

  • JTaylor21

HA HA Good one Jukai. @Bryan, come holla at me when dude does all this CRAP with nba defenders guarding him okay.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

Who is that dude with the long shaggy mane? Baca?

  • http://slamonline.com Saviour

That was awful. The video, the move and the fact I’ll never get those 32 seconds of my life back.
