Just Cuz: Biggie Freestyle. Age 17

If you’re a hip hop fiend, this video should be a repeat for you. I’ve probably watched it over 100 times and still can’t get over how nasty B.I.G’s freestyle flow was. He wrecks it in this clip and has the block on fire. He was 17 at the time. R.I.P B.I.G

-Schneezy

and 1 more classic.

@ The Fresh Prince – the thing that always stuck out to me about that “Thug Luv” song was that, while Biggie switched up his style for “Notorious Thugs” to match Bones’, Pac said “f*ck that, I ain’t switching sh*t up”..though BIG’s flow was RAW on “Notorious Thugs”.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Speaking of Bone, do y’all know they were the only ones who did songs with Biggie, 2Pac, Eazy-E AND Big Pun?

  • fruizm

but hey….we should be happy we…have gucci and wacka flocka nowadays!!!

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Run n gun, you do realize that rhyming piece with piece with piece, and it with it, is the exact opposite of incredible wordplay, right?. Thats the most elementary type of rap. Bigs delivery is what made it work. Big was really good, style was unique, but his greatness has been exagerrated and because of his death, canonized. Same with pac, his message, tone, and delivery far outweighed his rap skills. Pac was a great rapper, very influential in his time. I must add, pac was a fake, wannabe gangster. He went to art academy, and his first min in music was happy goofy ish with digital underground. He got popular after his first album, and startd fakin it. Then he startd jumping ppl, and spittin on ppl, actn like hes a gangster. Talkn all kinda ish he never did. Funny how some ppl lie about who they are, build a fake rep, and try to live up to it for whatever reason.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Yea boing, I kinda mentioned that, pac was fake

  • The Fresh Prince of Nsam

@ Hurricane 4:15 are they as good as WITNESS? (just kidding, those who can will understand).

how was pac fake?you didnt even know him!ud go crazy and spit on and jump people too if u were set up and shot by people u thought were ur friends and sent to prison for a crime u didnt commit…if u ask me pac was realer than real!

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

Rick Ashley’s “never gonna give you up” is pure fire.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Nah, beansbuddy, pac was a fake gangster before then. Those things actually kinda gave credence to pacs gangster image. like boing and myself pointed out, pac went to an arts academy and was doing plays and musicals. Started out with digital underground, then went solo. And all of a sudden, hes a gangster? Hell no. Like fake rick ross, fn prison co, hes not gangster either.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

No one can touch k-rino, peep his new album: annihilation of the evil machine. He will demolish any rapper out there. LIBRARY IT!

  • JTaylor21

Cooper is right. Tupac was the epitome of a fabricated “gangsta” image. Dude said it himself that most of the BS that he pulled and the beef he started with BIG was for entertainment purpose only. He was actually an intellect, and a very very smart dude who just got caught up in SKnight’s gang-banging world. That is what that actually did him in at the end, he stomped out the wrong crip in vegas and got his a** lit up. Hanging out with the wrong crowd is what got him killed not that illuminati bullsh*t.

  • kobesBESTfriend

well yes of course he went to an arts academy u fool…he was a musician and an actor wasn’t he?r u gonna dock him the “gangsta” tag just cuz he’s cultured?what makes some1 gangsta anyways…he was way more gangsta than BIG i tell u that…a selfmade millionaire a fake gangsta huh???jeez

  • JTaylor21

@Hurricane, name one bad album TI has put out? Okay I’ll wait…. How about Jeezy, bet you can’t name a bad album he put out, same with Ross. All them dudes especially T.I. have put out classic album after classical album, from I’m Serious to Trap Muzik to Urban Legend to Paper Trail nothing but classic material. Yeezy; TM101 to Inspiration to Recession, Ross; POM, Trilla, DTR, and Teflon Don. Do some research on those albums and at least listen to them first before you start talking out the side of your neck.

  • kobesBESTfriend

and i guess u guys all believe lil wayne when he told katie couric that he was a gangsta too huh???i guarantee pac never kissed suge like he did baby!

  • JTaylor21

@Hurricane your the same “smart” guy that put M&M, Lupe Fiasco, and Immortal Kombat over BIG WHAT THE F*CK? You should play musical chairs on the freeway, it would save you and everybody the time.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@JTaylor – sorry dude, but Jeezy’s trash. T.I.’s aight, Rick Ross is trash. But my tastes lean more towards the East Coast and Chicago styles. Only peeps from the south I ever really felt were Geto Boys, Outkast, UGK and… a few others I can’t think of right now. Oh, Young Bleed’s first album was hella dope.

  • JTaylor21

@Enigmatic, that’s cool everyone has their preferences. I couldn’t say they’re trash because that’s too harsh a word, it’s only reserved for guys like Soulja Boy and Post GRODT 50. Guys like T.I. and Jeezy are already legends down south but probably don’t get the same love/respect up top. It’s the same for us with regards to west and east coast cats, most of them excluding the game and a few others get no love down here.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

You’re right, “trash” is probably too harsh a word. I actually have liked one or two Ross joints, and some guest appearances by Jeezy I’ve heard were…aaaight I guess. Soulja Boy is trash. No doubt. Is that kid still releasing albums? Damn. Thought his 15 minutes were over by now. So do Chi-town rappers get love down south? Do or Die used to be with Rap-A-Lot back in the days w/ Scarface and them, I know Snypaz were with Rap-A-Lot too. And PsychoDrama signed with 8Ball and MJG’s label, SuaveHouse but never dropped an album. Before Common, Twista and Kanye blew up, cats from the Chi had to go down south to get signed…pause.

  • Hurricane

@ JTaylor- I guess mine & your interpretation of “Classic” are completely different. Here’s some “Classics” I can name off the top of my head:
    -
    1.Nas- Illmatic
2.Raekwon- Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
    3.Dr. Dre- The Chronic
    4.Snoop Dogg- Doggystyle
    5.Lupe Fiasco- Food & Liquor
    6.Nas- It Was Written
    7.Eminem- The Marshall Mathers LP
    8.2Pac- All Eyez On Me
9.The Notorious B.I.G.- Ready To Die
    10.Tha Dogg Pound- Dogg Food

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

    ^^^^ A top 10 without the Blueprint? Hmmmm…

  • Hurricane

@ Enigmatic- You should check out these songs by Freddie Gibbs, you should like him, he’s from Gary, Indiana w/ Chicago connects: Murda On My Mind, The Ghetto, National Anthem(F__K The World), The Coldest ft. Bun B, On One, What It Be Like & Born To Roll

  • Hurricane

@ Brion- That’s not my top 10, just “Classics I can name off the top of my head, they are in no particular order, Jay-Z has 2 “Classics”: Reasonable Doubt & Blueprint

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

    My bad

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    @ Brion – Blueprint < Reasonable Doubt!!

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@Hurricane – I’m always willing to listen to new artists, though I’m often left dissapointed, but I’ll give dude a shot.

  • Fat Lever

The GOAT MC debate begins and ends with Rakim. I think BIG even admitted he took elements of The God MC and made it his own. I knew some youngins would get on here proclaiming Pac or Big the greatest, but learn up on your hip hop history. Rakim, G Rap, Chuck D, KRS, and Kane are the real blueprints. Shout out to the real old school cats like Grandmaster Caz…

  • RobbieJay

Lil Wayne & Drake should watch this

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

B.I.G= G.O.A.T………….@Hurricane: Get Rich Or Die Trying’ should be in that.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Rakim, Kane, G Rap and them cats were the blueprint, no doubt. But Nas and Biggie took lyricism to a whole ‘other level.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Rakim is very nice, no doubt. Ti n jeezy are ok, I wouldnt say classic. Dont let jtaylor speakfor all southern rap fans. Hes young, what he says is all hes known. ……. ….. … … .. ….K-RINO IS A FUKKN BEAST! Hes the best now and ever. Im not just sayin it cuz im a fan, ive listened to so much rap from all eras, and this dude is above and beyond. His album from 93 would destroy anyones ish now. His newest, annihilation of the evil machine, is one for the ages. Just listen to the title track, then try to knock it. His combination of intellectual content, lyricism, style, voice, and delivery is unmatched.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

And enigmatic, id like to give a big shout out to J Prince and rap a lot records, he did/does so much to elevate so many artists.

  • vtrobot

i’d agree with the people sayin’ that rakim is top 2 or 3 of all time. complaints about jay’s “blueprint” not being in the top 10 of classics? go back further, BDP’s “blueprint” should be on the list of all-time classics. bo, bo, bo!

  • logues

    super nintendo, sega genesis

  • Bahaha

In the end of the day freemasons killed PAC n Bigg

  • The Philosopher

Papoose had a flow for a little while.
Stat Quo had some nice flows on mixtapes, NBA Live, and what not.
The only reason I have Nas as The G.O.A.T. is because of his “message” in which he is able to reach the Masses.
Now, there are probably better rappers, but they really don’t reach the audience.
“Poison”, in my opinion is the best rap single of All Time. It is prophetic, and… crazy.
    But, Biggie, that man…
If there are two G.O.A.T.s, it is Nas and Big.

  • The Philosopher

And, I really hope someone keeps Bahaha’s comment going.

  • Elvis Freshly

In my opinion.. as far as lyricist go, Nas is #1 on my list.. then Big Pun.

  • http://www.rich-imaging.com Dutch Rich

BIG was by far the best hip hop minstrel of all times. His story telling and delivery are unmatched. Too bad we never saw his full potential. Puff butchered his career and if it wasn’t for Premo’s beats we wouldn’t even be talking about BIG in terms of underground lyricist. I’ll take the GZA over most of the cats that you guys mention based on his creative skillz. Listen to all his lyrics before you start barking at me. The pound for pound street champion alive to me is Sean Price no doubt. Never cared for Pac never will…

  • http://www.rich-imaging.com Dutch Rich

In truth, I saw Eric B and Rakim live before most of you were born, blew me away. However most of their albums to me were very disappointing after Paid in Full. BDP is the truth. Most of what I play nowadays is Little Brother and 9th Wonder. I’m suprised nobody mentioned them, but you cats probably get your B-Boy knowledge off the radio anyway.
Anybody who claims Method man in an all-time list probably only listens to R&B and has never heard him drop more than one verse in a song. As a recording artist he’s below average. You name any album he’s made that has more than one classic joint on it, you can’t. Best Album ever made is The Infamous by Mobb Deep. Any real head will tell you this without hesitation. There might not ever be a better album than that. There has never been a Premier joint that I didn’t like. There……

  • andy

i love this ish…but i got sick of it because of puffy’s annoying midget a** voice in the back ground…argh!

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

phil, bahaha is wrong. besides, freemasons are just a small part of it all. and dutch, infamous is best album ever?! its great, but best ever? possibly. annihilation of the evil machine

  • hammer

@ huricane. Bone thugs n harmony “East 1999 Eternal” album is an all time underrated classic

  • http://jayemmbee.blogspot.com Clutch Performer

I just saw that comment about Drake gonna be bigger and better than biggie, and thats a load of BS and im canadian, Drake is good but he couldnt step to biggie flow is ill and he could switch up , from whether story telling to freestyling to that rawness on notorious thugs

  • Brar

Hip hop or rap is not dead or sucking today, whoever said that. Its just gone in a different direction but there are still GREAT hip hop artists. Just to name a few… Crooked I, Royce Da 5 9 (Slaughterhouse is the best group out there right now), J Cole, Drake(not great but good, still), Jay Electronica, Ye still has it (Good Fridays are awesome), Lupe Fiasco, Black Milk. And even some dumbed down rappers arent that bad to listen to like Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Curren$y. 80s and 90s hip hop was obviously on another level but I still love some of the music out there right now for sure. Far from dead.

  • hammer

@dutch rich. “The Infamous” is nice, but “Hell on Earth” is better n my opnion

  • hammer

Hip hop is dead. When u got artists like lady gaga and artists like b.e.p.(who’s beats sound more closer 2 techno than hip hop)playin on radio stations,u can’t come 2 another conclusion than hip hop is dead. And artists like soulja boy,flo rida, bow wow, gucci mane and pit bull killed it
