Video: Blake Griffin Skys For the Oop

What young bull Griffin does on a nightly basis is just unbelievable. Today, Sunday the 26th, was no different:

Man, the Clippers have got so many more people watching them this year, myself included, just to see Blake throw down.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

The Daily Operation….@MCho no doubt lol, I’m on NBA.com tryna vote in Clipper games for fan night lmao

Every single alley-oop Griffin has is off a lob from Baron Davis. I hope the Clippers realise the chemistry those two guys have right now before making the decision to trade Davis.

this is seriously getting ridiculous, he’s so freaking good.

Suns are the first team i’ve seen trying to bully him too. props to them, but he held his own. I can tell you that Gortat, Grant hill and Pietrus are his least favorite players after today. they were buggin him all game long

    Holy Shat!

Blake makes me jizz in my pants

    Blake = better than LeBron

  • Jose

If Lebron and Blake ever joined forces…oh boy….they’re going to need to replace the rims evry quarter for all them throw dwns

  • Migs

@Jose. Why stop at LeBron and Blake? Put in Dwight Howard, JR Smith and Derrick Rose and you’ve got a team who would need titanium enforced rims in every game.

  • Tomas Banco

Honestly its not even funny how good this kid is…its kinda scary actually lol…he’s putting up monster numbers against the elite big men of the NBA…no offense but there’s not 1 big man in the league that can guard him period!!!!!!!

  • K.a.

Pfft westbrook throws down harder than rose

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

Cosign Hursty.. This is a very exciting team, I hope they don’t trade away all their young guys (and older guy in Diddy) like they usually do.. Blake Griff is wayyyy better then I expected..

I watched this game and I’ve seen like 8,9 complete clipper games, but you can see this play coming from a mile away when you’re watching the clips. Baron has the ball at the top of the key, Blake draws his defender out of the paint, quick spin move, the lob, the youtube highlight dunk. Blake is Amazing.

  • GoGreen

@K.a. Don’t be fooled by it. Westbrook just hangs onto the rim longer than rose. Thatdon’t mean he throws down harder.

  • GoGreen

He cought that thing so far from the hoop. Reminicin’ my main man SHAWN KEMP. Ish ! In fact its pretty damn obvious that Blake is One of Shawn Kemps Bastard sons. Here’s the proof —-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcflgkFOXGE

Here’s Blake hitting his HEAD on the Backboard in a college game. I don’t know if Ive ever seen anyone get up off of two feet like him…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NMlt3uG3Fs

  • Felix

has team ever had so many followers with so few wins as Blake’s Clips? I never thought I would be league passin to watch the clippers lose

cantrell…….not me. Another one of the fakes. SLAM can’t figure out how to give everyone that comments a login id. It seems like something that most websites can come up with so close to 2011. I know I’m one of about 100 other commenters that have had the same complaint.

  • hendry

this dunk is exactly like dwight howard’s winning alley oop on tim duncan.

  • True H

you know what, How many illegitamate kids does kemp have? Blake just might be Kemps?

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Here’s a crazy thought – what if Blake Griffin had come out after his freshman year of college? Where would he have been drafted?
Now, remember, even though he had an impressive freshman year, it wasn’t as insanely good as his Sophomore year. Mike Beasley was hands down the best player in the Big 12 that year, and Derrick Rose was Derrick Rose. So I still think the Bulls would’ve drafted Rose and the Heat Beasley.
After that though, who knows? I think he could’ve gone anywhere from number 3 (Minnesota), to number 10 (New Jersey).
If OKC had drafted him, they wouldn’t have Westbrook but maybe they would have drafted Tyreke in the ’09 draft? Blake Griffin, Tyreke Evans and Kevin Durant? Damn.
How bout the Knicks? Imagine Blake throwing it down at MSG every home game? Nahhh. O’Antoni was way too enmored with Danilo “best shooter I’ve ever seen” Gallinari.
we’ll never know, but it’s still fun to speculate.

Lebron + Kemp= Blake “effin” Griffin

He’s a mixture of Kemp and Mailman. I have said it before (and it is kind of bold) but barring injury Griffin will be the best Power Forward to ever play the game. Mind my words in 6-7 years whe he is averaging 30 pts, 15 rebs, 2 blks, 1,5 steals and 5-6 assists per game while leading the Clips or hopefully some other team deep in the playoffs every single year. I’m a fan!

  • Drew

I read that they went from 20th place in attendance last season to 15th this season. That’s a huge improvement in just one year.

  • http://sdfjklfl.com Jukai

I’m not feeling this “Blake Griffin is going to be the best power forward ever.”
He’s really raw. His jumpshot is broke, his footwork is a little bizarre, I REALLY think his dribble can be better, there’s no back to the basket skills at all…. And he’s a pretty solid iso defender, but he should be averaging two blocks a game already.
I think he looks better than he is because a) his basketball IQ is astounding. He rarely takes a bad shot, if he doesn’t have it, he’ll pass it right back out, and his passing can get his teammates open shots and b) he moves so well off the ball that even guys with questionable passing can hit him for open dunks. Those two things alone make him a ridiculously great basketball player, if he NEVER improves he would probably turn out to be a top-10 PF all time.
But I think he has more of a way to go than people realize. I can see him being better than Karl Malone, but I dunno about being better than Duncan….

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I don’t think he’ll be best power forward of all time. But he’s damn good right now and will be VERY good.
I’m one of the few people alive who would take Malone over Duncan. I just think Duncan is given the #1 spot over Malone only cause of Duncan’s 4 chips compared to Malone’s 0. But if Duncan was drafted in ’85 instead of ’97, he wouldn’t have won sh*t either. Unless he played for the Lakers, Celtics, Pistons or Bulls.

  • http://sdfjklfl.com Jukai

Enigmatic: I don’t even judge Duncan by his chips. I guess I have more of a respect for Duncan for all the time he has slaughtered my Suns, but I personally think Duncan is better than Malone WITHOUT the chips, and the championships just push him up leagues above any other power forward in the history of the league.
Like, Duncan to me had very few flaws in his games. Range, back to the basket skill, he can beat bigger guys off the dribble, passing skills made him hard to double team, he can even move off-the-ball and run for a short time on the break (more as a trailer but still)… but he also is a FANTASTIC iso defender, FANTASTIC defensive anchor, great rebounder, moves well, leads his team, brings energy, he’s perfect.
Malone was great, he was more physical and athletic, so he was able to score more than Duncan, probably played the passing lanes more… but what else did he do better than Duncan?
Plus, I’ll be honest too, I hold it against Malone that he played with Stockton.

  • http://Www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Great points all around. I’d also add that Malone was a better passer than Duncan and one of the most underrated passing big men of all time. Also his durability. Injury-free until pretty much his final season.
I love Duncan though. I’d say Malone, in my book would be 1 and Duncan is 1A.
I’d type more but I’m on my iPhone now and the touchscreen and autocorrect are driving me nucking futs.

Team “Disrespectful” aka Team “Must see TV”

    C-Dwight Howard
    PF-Blake Griffin
    SF- LeBron James
    SG- JR Smith
    PG-Deron Williams

oops upside your head-I said oops upside your head!

  • http://sdfjklfl.com Jukai

Enigmatic: I dunno, I’ll be honest and say I didn’t care to watch Malone much, but from everything I’ve seen, I’d say Duncan was a better passer. Their stats are pretty close.
The Mailman’s big thing was his durability, yeah, we’ll see how much longer Duncan lasts. His stats dropped a lot faster than I thought, I’ll admit.

  • http://Www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Jukai- what’s funny though is I couldn’t stand Malone when he was playing.

  • OvaChicken

Malone had the sickest work ethic & even though he seemed to have the same dunk all the time (which made him kinda corny) ,he was one of a kind for his time beeing able to combine brute strength with a consistent J & nice passin ability + You couldn’t move him off the block, well that’s until SHAWN KEMP came along & had his ish pushed in. :-) REIGNMAN 4 LIFE !! ”Swatted out by Gatling ! KEMP burys it & draws the foul.” I feel the Griffster is the only man who will get close to this —> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQeMhYJe5JA&feature=related
