Video: JaVale McGee Dunk from FT-Line FAIL!

The Wizards were down 25 points with 20 ticks to go, so JaVale McGee thought he’d try to become the first NBA player to truly dunk from free-throw line in a game. Problem was, he ended up looking like a clown. Ironic thing is, the 7-0 pogo stick can do that dunk!

WHY, WHY, WHY… LMAO! For the team to lose that bad to Sac-Town is one thing. But to compound it with your own individual FAIL, no bueno.

Clyde Drexler has truly dunked from the free-throw line in a game…..just sayin’….

  • ben

To me its on the same level as the Ricky Davis’s rebound to complete a triple double.

  • anthony

damn he could of threw that down it slipped out his hand …..happens to the best of us

  • Jul

I think maybe he heard the buzzer and thought the play had stop so he just messed around

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com just bcuz

why he shouldnt be invited to a dunk contest

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/32JSE Yesse

Well i was already thinking if he should be in the dunk contest. I’m glad i saw this before i was already begging for him to be in it.

  • http://slamonline.com SWIFTboy

The fact that he can make that dunk, but wasn’t able to, is not ironic at all. Unless there was some play on words I’m completely missing.

lol, just trying to leave the game on a positive note and the Wiz fans at home with something to cheer about…absolutely nothing wrong with it. Kid is freakish athletic

still better then Clippers missing THREE DUNK on THREE CONSECUTIVE POSSESSIONS vs Lakers in the 3rd Q,

i have seen thousands of full NBA game, yet have never witnessed such a FAIL

gotta give him ups for doing it if they keep getting blown out he’ll have more chances to but down the boom from 15

  • CRUS-T jalepino included

10 out of 10 for trying

  • Dar

I think back in the day Eddie Jones had a pretty close dunk from the free throwline… on Shawn Bradley no less..

really? ima sound old here but where’s the respect for the game? what happened to competing until the buzzer sounded? Or trying to get better in actual games? What happened to making the score respectable or playing for playing time in the future? Getting the reps for when it’s a game that counts? Good, winning habits. Flip Saunders is a push over. If Larry Brown, Phil Jackson, Jerry Sloan and the like were coaching (they’d win more games, I know)JaVale would be doing sprints in practice til he threw up. But Flip proved with Blactche last year that he doesn’t care about any of the aforementioned.

  • Drew

    HAHAHA!! That is comedy!

  • bnets

at least he tried in an nba game, next time he`ll get one to go

  • BoyFromTheBlock

Ok..First of all how many people in the league can TRULY dunk from the ft line? Not too many. And if you try it in a game it’s even harder. So I don’t see what is so embarassing to miss a dunk like that. And you can tell he was frustrated because of the loss. damn people..

How can a 7 footer be unable to palm a basketball?

  • estoniandude

just as a 5 footer is unable to palm a tennisball, accidents happen-.-

The fundamenatls are completely gone from the NBA.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

Here’s the silver lining. He did run back on D.

  • Michael

I remember tmac went from pretty close years ago when he was with tdot, i think thats the closest i seen.

  • http://www.twiter.com/dfrance21 dfrance21

@Allenp In T-Moneys defense, someone asked if anyone had dunked from the foul line in a game before. So his comment was not random at all.

Missing a fast break dunk in a game is embarrassing period. Its even more embarrassing trying to dunk from the foul line and missing, on the road, when your team is getting blown out.

  • kc

love the call from the announcers!

  • kc

lebron did it a few years ago, its on youtube

JaVale graduated from Shannon Brown’s school of missed dunks with honors.

HAHAHA! “Thats what happens when you hot-dog” who says that??? HAHAHA!

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

LOL at least he tried, though. I’m glad he tried. More players should do this.

The guy who said “That’s what happens when you hot dog” is the same guy who benched Bob Cousy for dribbling “with the devil” aka behind his back.

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

Contrary to popular opinion, dunking from the foul line isn’t very hard. There are plenty of guys in the NBA who can do it.

  • Galagu

    lmao @ patlok

  • scjustice

lebron did it with two hands. does that make it more difficult?
