Video: Kobe Bryant Dunks on LeBron James

After a slow start, the All-Star game turned into a competitive and tense affair late. The play of the game pitted the evening’s two leading MVP candidates, with Kobe emerging as the winner over ‘Bron ‘Bron (though, just barely):

  • tomtom

    where you @ eboy!?

  • http://juanm.garcia@comcast.net LeWitness

Not to worry. Our organization is working on confiscating all evidence of this dunk from everyones collective memories. In time you’ll think it was all just a dream.

  • tomtom

the best part is between 46-49 where lebron doesn’t know weather it went in or not lol

  • Niyagirlfresh

Yeah he came out to play, it was his hometown so why not make it one to remember. I was so happy to see him fresh legged and playing to the best of his ability love when he proves critics and people wrong, All-Star game or not Kobe doesn’t care if it’s a charity game in the hood he’s going to take it seriously.. Oh but he’s too old, he can’t do it anymore etc, etc. He outrebounded everyone, he outplayed everyone throughout. He wasn’t the only one taking the game seriously because they start doubling teaming him down the stretch which left Durant open and alowed him to get his lol. Barely my ass 37 and 14 on 51% shooting is a guaranteed MVP. Congrats Bean! Durant is a class act too he he said he wanted Kobe to get 40 so did Melo, it’ll be awesome to see Kobe take him and Melo under his wing when he nears retirement.

Slap dat ass after you dunk on it!

  • tomtom

    cosign Niyagirlfresh.

  • cheema

    dat was weak!

  • robb

That was a great sequence. Dunk on James, ass pat and three pointer in 11 seconds. Kobe in assassin mode.

  • c.a.

    ‘Should I block it?’.
Another failed decision by Queen James.

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

    He hardly dunked “on him”.

  • c.a.

@Brion, you’re right, Lebron wasn’t even in camera shot.
    You idiot.

  • Lake Show

    lebron fouled him…

Where is nbk and Eboy now with “Kobe has lost it”

  • Bruno

    just enjoy the day man

  • http://www.nba.com/heat/ The Angel of Stern

cosign Brion, That wasnt really a dunk on him… lebron just tried to make a spectacular play that noone else in the league could make.. kobe did what he should have done and what he is expected to do which is finish a clear path dunk.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

Chris Paul was all over the ball in this one

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

So no one else in the nba can block a shot from behind? That was getting dunked on.

  • benno

@angel of stern – “ebron just tried to make a spectacular play that noone else in the league could make” – what block the ball – i think there’s a few players who can do that. LEBRONS A FREE MASON!!!!

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

If it hadn’t been an All-Star game, Kobe would have probably gotten hit hard enough to end up in the seats. Anyway, good dunk, good block attempt. If you try to block shots, you’re going to get dunked on. That’s part of the business.

  • Eric

Kobe didn’t dunk on Lebron. Lebron failed to block his shot after the chase down. And even if Kobe did dunk on Lebron, so what? Where was Kobes dunking on Christmas day in a real game?

  • rich

i loled that he got slammed on again but i like that he does this because he causes ppl to miss soo many easy layups during the season and in playoffs every possesion counts and it makes up for a couple of the turnovers by he and wade

  • LakeShow

^^ then that would be a flagrant and a terrible play.

  • 2KInsider

Both players were clearly trying as hard as they could that whole game and Kobe came out on top. Reggie couldn’t stop talking about LeBron’s inspirational speach to fire up his team. LeBron wanted this game so bad.

  • JTaylor21

Can we really call that getting dunked on?

  • http://nba.com EJ

    YES WE CAN!^^

  • http://www.realgm.com Gman

    wasnt he behind him? weird

  • http://nba-point-forward.si.com/ datkid

nah…to me getting dunked on means you litterally gotta be in front of the dunk like corey brewer’s jam on derek fish or t-mac over shawn bradley. to me lebron just failed to block his shot

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

@C.A, read the above post’s to see who’s “the idiot”. what does being in the camera shot have to do with it? So long g*y boy!

  • http://www.nba.com/heat/ The Angel of Stern

@ benno, there are different types of blocks.. I dont know anyone else in the leauge that could come that close to blocking a clear path dunk.. you cant just say that lebrons chasedowns are just blocks so anyone can do it. and gtfoh with the free mason sh*t.

  • the truth

u gotta be between ur man and the rim to get dunked on. not chasing him down after he gets a 3 step headstart on you. reverse the roles, would kobe have even challenged lebron?

  • http://www.nba.com/heat/ The Angel of Stern

    co-sign the truth

  • meloman416

how is there nomention of Derozan being robbed yet again in the dun off… i wanted tosee the funy chicken dunk!!

  • nyemah2k

to each his own! to me James got dunk on! it wasn’t the best dunk ever, far from it. But they they both were equal distance from the hoop. James had an equal amount of time to react and choose the way he was going to defend. if you watch it they both took off at the same time. Kobe just finished.

  • kh

Regardless of how you label it. Kobe dunked while Lebron tried to block it. I appreciate Lebron’s willingness to go after it and Kobe knew he was coming so he challenged him. I love that Kobe still thinks its “cool” to try, he doesn’t want to lose at anything! Some of these young cats today act like Sidney Dean out there.

  • 2KInsider

As long as LeBron always tries to block from behind he will always win. If he blocks it, he is great, but if not, it doesn’t count as getting dunked on. No lose situation for LeBron.

  • T-Money

Kobe absolutely dunked on LeBron, that’s not really debatable. However, I’m glad that Bron is not afraid to get dunked on and always tries to prevent easy bucket on the break – a net 2-point gain for his team everytime he blocks one. Challenging that play is worth it even if you only block it 1 out of 10 times.

  • T-Money

Challenging the shot is always the right basketball play, regardless of the outcome.

  • mick

how did he dunk on lebron , nba is turning into a joke

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I think some of y’all might be mentally deranged.

  • Crustified-Jalepino

Bron Blocked kobes dunk before http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGmal8Q9_ZU , so im not suprised he went for it. He was a split second late , its all G . Hel catch the mamba again 1day, hopefully in the finals, yall see.

Kobe says: “Close, but no cigar”

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    That was an awesome sequence.

  • iSwag24

    E-Boy? where you at dog

  • Pais

I’ve played above the rim for quite a few years now and I can tell you, he got dunked on. Like all things, getting dunked on comes in degrees. If I challenge a dunk but I was kinda far and there was absolutely 0 body contact, then that’s not so bad but someone’s gonna call me out on it back on the bench. This was a direct challenge with definitive results, a statement punctuated with an ass slap. Trust me, both those guys know what this was.

Why do you cynics and haters wanna try and dilute this? This is huge, the two Titans, arguably the two best ballers in the universe.
This is Megatron Vs. Optimus Prime proportions. I bestow mucho kudos to the man who had the balls to step forward on the grandest of stages, amongst the best of the best and claim the crown.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

At least Lebron got a tap on the butt, for trying to be a Block Hero. LOL!!

  • http://sdfjklfalkfl.com Jukai

Why is everyone asking for Eboy? Kobe’s team won and he got MVP, but he didn’t exactly outplay Lebron and he didn’t exactly dominate in the fourth.
And Kobe HAS lost a step. He’s still able to drop 37 on the best in the world but has still lost a step. Doesn’t that say something about how good Kobe was?
I don’t get Kobe supporters who actually are insulting Kobe by saying he hasn’t lost a step.

  • DC

Kobe is a veteran, he knew to go up with two hands. But this is not getting dunked on.

  • tony knorr

Cosign Jukai, and t-money. this is getting dunked on but its about as weak of a way as you can dunk on someone as their is, which isn’t kobe’s fault he dunked the ball like he should have but it is not as if lebron met him at the rim coming over in helpside defense and got banged on by kobe he just hustled hard and attempted to block it from behind. still getting dunked on is getting dunked on. But people really need to stop blowing this play out of proportion its a single play in an all-star game not some grand statement of alpha male dominance that should be taken as the ultimate metaphor for the current nba pecking order.

  • LakeShow

    Kobe has lost a step
I still want him on my team right now over Lebron. By about .1 percent lol

  • Michael

he tried to block and Kobe dunked…..on him. I mean it was nothing special or anything but LBJ got dunked on. Atleast he challenged the shot.

  • Michael

@The angel of stern, “noone else in the league could make” – Are you serious? there are alot of dudes (lebron Included) who couldve swatted that away. If it was Josh Smith instead of Bron chasing him down I bet Kobe drops it off to Durant.

  • http://sdfjklfalkfl.com Jukai

@Michael: I’ll take you up on that bet any day of the week.

  • raven2005

nike zoom kobe VI > nike air max lebron 8

  • dfortruth

Good game Kobe, Lebron tried so hard to out shine you but he just could not. Kobe all about the game, Lebron all about the fame, its just not all about you bron, its Kobe hometown, did you really think he would let you out shine him

  • DBoy

It’s not necessarily getting “dunked on” because he was behind the ball, but tell me this isn’t a poster???? Dunked on by default of getting posterized.. KB8 the Great

  • http://nba-point-forward.si.com/ datkid

you guys are tripping if you think that’s getting dunked on…amare stoudamire banged on lebron, bean dunked BESIDE him at best. and i guess it’s sort of a nice poster…but honestly if it was someone else in there instead of lebron it wouldn’t be.

  • unrel

don’t get too technical.. he dunked on lebron.. regardless of position of the body.. he’s in the poster getting dunked on.. next thing you guys will say is blake griff didn’t jump over a car.. he jumped over the hood..

  • dro

    e boy is a d bag.

  • dro

if it was vic versa he would have been first to comment. e boy, c’mon son.
