Video: Kobe Bryant Interview on Conan O’Brien

Kobe and Conan O’Brien spoke about MVP chants, the Black Mamba, the Robert Rodriguez collaboration, Phil Jackson’s sage branches and tai chi sessions, among other things. And Kobe’s best line, supposedly spoken to President Barack Obama nonetheless : “I told him if they call, I’ll be sure to pick up after the fifth ring.” Check this out:

    Ol’ Kobe.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

And, a sarcastic shout out to the way he just killed tai chi, and those who practice it. smh

  • Ansonpanson

    fantastic!

  • karma

Yeah, the tai-chi thing wasn’t cool. I think he was just trying to be funny.

For what it’s worth, there’s no ‘Monk Stares at Moon’ pose in tai chi. Ha!

I like Kobe’s serious interviews more. The best one I’ve come across is Stephen A’s “Lost Interview” with him in 2006 (it is on youtube though). Kobe says some pretty intelligent and profound things in that interview, its really intriguing. You can tell that his personality has completely shifted though, as he’s a lot more open nowadays. during the SAS interview, dude had a tough moment when SAS asked about Colorado…but he responded quite profoundly. Definetly recommend Laker fans to check that out.

Also, I’ve seen his interviews with Kimmel, and he always puts down whatever Phil practices in these interviews. I don’t believe that he’s like that around Phil though – I think he respects the man too much to not embrace his ideas.

Kobe spreading some insider knowledge as well as beaming with confidence reagrding the Lakers’ chances of three-peating this year…Though he still acts with that same swagger and (fake?) ‘maturity’ he had displayed as a 18 year old…

  • Mz. Bryant lover

Oh I love that man so much!!!

  • theDankerNuggets

man the herb really does put you in a good mind state to play, real talk

Cry me a river on the tai chi business, guys. Christ.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

Forgot that some people respect nothing. Not even themselves. How can someone respect anything if they do not even respect themselves, right?

The Philosopher is just poking for things to complain about.

Please tell me you dont joke about something someone else practices… Never made a joke about anything other people do? Come on. What he said about Tai Chi was funny & you’re just being some new age softies about “what you can/can’t say”.

    You sound like Eric Gordon.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    ^^Yeah, maybe you’re right…
    Point still stands, though.
For, some people who practice tai chi may actually be buying his named merchandise.
Jordan would have never said/done that.

  • http://sdfklf.com Jukai

Your point still stands and is still stupid. par for the course though.
I’m just laughing at the idea that Kobe’s brand is hurt because he called tai chi stupid. Man.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

First of all, I wasn’t even talking to you.
Second, no one said that his brand is hurt. I just said that people who practice tai chi may buy his merchandise. Nowhere did I say that his brand is hurting.
Third, you’re still pissed that I exposed your fraudulent, plagiarizing, racist ass up here in front of your people. Well, get over it. It’s not that serious.
    Fourth, get some self respect.
    Fifth, this is off topic, so whatever;
You’re not even new money. You’re old money. You didn’t make yourself. You wouldn’t know what it takes to be a self made man. If you and your mother are anything alike (I know y’all are) I can see why she is a divorcee. (She’s fine as hell, though) (reminds me of one of those foot queens) Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, you know?
    Clown.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

And you’re STILL the only creature on EARTH who thinks Kobe is a better shooter than Bird. Nothing I EVER say or do is as stupid as THAT.
    Period.

  • http://sdfklf.com Jukai

Hahahaha you say stupid stuff all the time, man.
    It’s your MO.
You’re clearly really angry that people are still talking to me and generally still ignoring you, you’re like a little kid. Which, you know, makes sense since you don’t know anything about basketball since before 2000.
Anyway, I don’t want to get off topic: your point was still really stupid.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    Please.
You know that I know more ball than you do…
That’s the root of your disdain for me.
    Anyways…

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

And, for your information, I don’t need a conversation over the internet to make me feel validated. That’s all you, Susie.

  • http://sdfklf.com Jukai

You do though. That’s sort of the pitiful thing about it, Christopher. I don’t know, if it bothers you so much, you may want to disconnect for a while. Or maybe you have, which is why your posting has sort of disappeared after a while.
    Still, digressing: stupid point.

Well, it was a very entertaining way to spend 15 minutes.

  • http://hoopistani.blogspot.com hoopistani

  • BostonBaller

This is one of the reasons I love KB..Straight up gangsta on the court and versatile off of it. Nice interview and I’m sure he meant no disrespect against anyone.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    @Susie:
Talk about following somebody on threads…
And, if my point is so stupid to you, and it bothers you, then I don’t know, maybe you should stay off my package for a while. Or maybe you have been, since you have been ceasing to engage with me and getting humiliated.
