Video: LeBron James Confronts Heckler

A couple of nights ago, a Detroit Pistons fan got a little personal with the trash talk, and LeBron didn’t hesitate to fire back. Reportedly, the fan mixed some sort of mom reference with some sort of Valentine’s Day reference, and Bron was none too happy with the lack of respect. Check it out.

    Stuff like this is why The Score is great. S/O to Holly!

    at least he defended his momma, too bad he couldnt defend her against Delonte West lol

  • http://gmail dirty frank

    Really like how LeBron handled it

  • robb

    Detroit fans, classy as usual.

  • Genuine

    Too bad he can’t use some of that “defense” on the court, against the Celtics. I’m just saying…..

  • Genuine

    You can tell, from that small clip, that Spoelstra doesn’t have any say when it comes to that team. He didn’t make any attempt to get LeBrick back into the game and away from the “fan”.

    I don’t blame LeBrick; HEY, IF YOU CAN’T BEAT the BETTER TEAMS, why not try and fight with the fans, when possible.

    Just PLAY THE GAME, LEBRICK, JUST PLAY THE GAME.

    Besides, if his “momma” was RESPECTABLE, you know, like a lot of the other mothers of NBA players, then he wouldn’t have a need to ‘DEFEND” her.

    Play ball, LeQuit.

    I think that what Lebron said in this ocassion was very good, pity that he’s not up to the same standards in his press conferences.

  • coggie13

    @genuine.
    are you on crack?

  • T-Money

    Comments like Genuine at 6:53 make me want to just browse the headlines and go on with my day. I think I’ll slow down the commenting on SLAM and stick to BigSoccer

  • 2KInsider

    As much as I root against LeBron as a player, I respect him as a person. He has never done anyone real harm.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    As much as I love The King, he wouldn’t have been able to say that to me. I would have torn him a new @ss.

  • dis_dood

    @2KInsider

    Seriously? It’s the exact opposite for me. Lebron is a phenomenal player but I dont respect him as a person.

  • 2KInsider

    @dis_dood- I agree that he is a phenomenal player but I cheer against him only as long as Kobe is in the NBA. I gained respect for him when I watched his “Love of the Game” movie.

    He handled that very well

  • Joey

    @Genuine – Really? Ron Ron and Bron have similar nicknames but thats about it. King James handled that with class. Told a classless fan to clean it up or get kicked out.

    Bron and Co are battling it out w/ the Celts for top in the East. They are meeting regular season expectations right now. Losing to the C’s by 3 with basically identical team stats across the board. Hope Truth stays healthy so these two teams can battle it out proper in the playoffs.

  • jay rose

    Some of you never suprise me on what ya say here.Im not a big lebron fan but Im proud of how he handled that. Family is always first.Good job LBJ

  • Jer dawg

    Family first. Never disrespect family. I agree with sticking up for family.

  • fitzy

    as much as I dislike him, that was well handled. props

  • rich

    if he was on a non playoff team then lebron shoulda went malice in the palace on him

  • greg

    this delonte thing isnt even funny anymore. make fun of him for missing a free throw or travelling or breaking mo williams’ heart

  • PlanetAsia14

    @2K Insider: I gained respect for him after watching that movie as well (although Kobe’s still my number one dude.) And its good to see him sticking up for his family, family’s always first.

  • Michael

    @ The Philosopher: Yeah, I doubt it …

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    @Michael:
    You’re right.
    But then, I wouldn’t have said anything about his family, either. Unless he was disrespecting me first. THEN I would really go in on him verbally. By the end of the game he would have wanted to tell me to meet him in the parking lot.

  • Sean

    Dude really isn’t that intelligent is he. “You can say whatever you want to me, except a whole bunch of things you can’t say – those’ll be at my disgression.”

    So essentially, he can’t say anything he wants to say to you? Lemoron.

  • Sizzle

    In his defense, his two kids were near the Heckler yelling at him. I respect him for saying something. Fans think they are entitled to say whatever they want because they pay the high price of admission (and knowing they are protected). Half the idiots in the crowd wouldn’t have the brass to say anything if it was just them and whoever they are heckling one on one. Notice in all of the reports the fan declined to give his name (scared straight much).

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    I think he he only said something because his son’s were sitting right there, like Sizzle pointed out. You think anyone in Cleveland wasn’t saying anything 100 times worse?

  • COSTA

    @Sean… another child left behind in the “no child left behind act”. You’re a fool if you don’t understand what he’s trying to say.

    @Genuine… you’re another one.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Anon E Mouse

    Philosopher, glad you cleared up your meaning there buddy because we all know what you would’ve done in a physical confrontation with “BIG Bron” coming for you…

  • http://theurbangriot.com The NUPE

    He handled it as well as any player could I guess. So no special props or dis for what he did. Personally now, I think fans in other cities now have more of a ‘pattern’ to follow to get under Brons skin. Not saying it’s right, but considering how much crap fans talk to players, and players don’t react at all (like is doesn’t bother/phase them), now they know how to get to Bron and I bet it will only get worse now.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    @Anon E Mouse:
    Yeah, I should have clarified that earlier, right? Nah, the only way I would end up getting physical with The King is, if I were looking to score a lawsuit or something.
    But yeah, all verbals. lol

    Well, that is fine, however think about the other options we have here? Do you mind crafting one more post about all of them also? Regards!
