The Celtics took down the Suns tonight, and to add a cherry on top, Paul Pierce finished this throwdown over Channing Frye. Check it out.

dude been catchin bodies this year. Got a little spring in his step

There’s a lot of talk about the C’s age being a real looming problem, at it is, but with Grant Hill doing what he did at the start of the video (even though he missed the dunk, he can still get up) and Steve Nash playing the way he is, and both at 37, you’ve gotta figure Pierce and Ray have at least a couple more years in them without any significant drop off, barring injury. KG’s looked rejuvenated this season too, but we all know big men wear down little more quickly…

that wasn’t even on him PP. Stop that taunting crap. It ain’t you. Grab another wheel chair and let’s call it a day.

Apparently staring warrants technicals these days. Look out, next it’ll be Ts for forgetting to say Thanks.

  • robb

I’ll always be a Grant Hill fan. I love how he still goes for that kind of play.

  • BostonBaller

No matter what P Double does it’s never enough…lol. I’m old school and anytime someone tries to block a dunk and there’s contact…you got banged on. No one is saying he climbed him like Vince or BGriff’d dude but he banged on him. Watch it again. Oh wait, he’s too old and too fat and too fake and too….never mind.

Shame for Grant Hill, that dunk would’ve been so nice.

  • Heals

Cup-check and getting dunked on, ouch, oh yeah and add in the fact KG OWNED him when the game was close…

Grant Hill should have got that call….

I’ve been loving the Suns run of late….but their starters were woeful in this game.

  • youngmuggsy

I’m not saying he should have been T’d up, but staring Frye down afterwards with his fists clenched is a bit silly. I dunno, maybe I’m not old-school enough to feel the need to show the world how macho I am after a good play.

Seems a few players can’t handle the truth this season. That.was.fabulousnessicity!

  • Riggs

not being on him mubwar? there was contact made, go hate somewhere else. Also the C’s were punking channing frye all night haha

  • el_larsen

    THE TRUTH !!!
    yeah thanks paul !!
    payback for you channing
    kg 12-14 fg 28 pts 11rbd
    frye 1-4 fg 4pts 2 rbd lol
and once again,as it still enrage the haters ,the wheelchair tactic was pure genius !

  • vtrobot

if nash got a T when he shouted for the ref to “fu(k off”, literally about 10 times, then PP DEF should get one for that scary stare. weren’t these C’s supposed to be too old in 2008!?!?! i think ray, PP, and KG are ALL playing better this year than last year.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Yep, KG made it a mission to own Frye last night. Mission accomplished. It’s always good viewing when things get personal on an Nba court.

umm… MUBWAR do u no know Paul… one of the biggest trash talkin ppl in the game

I love the look Pierce gave Frye after the dunk.

We maybe should be more careful with using the word “on” in the headline for dunks like this.

  • logues

both pierce and allen have underrated dunking ability

  • http://theurbangriot.com The Nupe

Nice dunk with the left. But the stare was just not necessary – I guess mean muggin is still ‘in style’. But honestly, just no need for it imo.

When paul dunks on somebody it be so weak but in his mind he thinks he dunks on them like lebron.

  • Fat Lever

Nice, but a weak and terrible attempt at a block by Frye. If you’re not going up with the intent to block, then you gotta go up with the intent that you’re going to foul to prevent getting dunked on. Frye did neither and he got yammed on.

  • http://www.double-technical.blogspot.com Zee!

Damn he got herbed last night….smh @ you Channing….but when you’re name is Channing….Meh.

  • ciroqobama

Whether it was “on” him or not, Frye shouldn’t have jumped. Dude had zero chance to block that.

  • ClydeSays

Nice flush, but as Mark Jackson would say, “You’re better than that Paul Pierce!”.

Grant would’ve made that dunk WITH FLAIR & POWER in his prime, he was so great

  • BostonBaller

Grant simple missed a dunk that would have been real nice..it happens, no big deal. For those that say PP should not have starred better say the same when LBJ or anyone else poses or flexes or tenses up after a dunk or and one whether they are looking at the player or into the camera. I could do without the mean mug’n myself but it doesn’t take away from the game too much so I won’t complain when players do it (unless they stand over a player or grab their sack)

  • BostonBaller

BTW, being macho has nothing to do with real old school..this “new school style is the macho, show me up style so don’t try to pin the silliness on us old schoolers. lol Toughness in old school was take it to the hole and sometimes smash mouth..true tough guy stuff not this ticky tac foul, take six steps, an assist every time a pass is made stuff. Some of these superstars of today would have crumbled under the real Bad Boys defense or would have been run out of the gym by The Showtime Lakers fast breaks. lol. We have coaches today that would have either slowed down or shut down a few of todays players. lol
