I have to preface this with, LeBron is the ‘best’ currently playing, BUT those highlights are the worse he has had yet. Shows how good his past years have been I suppose. He doesn’t look quite the same as he has in the past. Maybe its just the jersey throwing me off but these highlights aren’t better than 10 other dudes had this year. He needs that chip on his shoulder in order to impress me. I wanna see him know he’s the best and it felt like a season of defering and waiting instead of taking what is his. And finally i’d take Kobe still. Is he currently better no, but i’d take his skills and mind set over LeBrons.

He didn’t win the last what, 8 years tho. He looked better all those years. We’ve said it time and time again but until dude gets a couple more things (real post moves ‘not just bully ball’, a go to move like a step back or fade away jumper or a crossover pull up) he is not, in my eyes, going to be all he can be. He isn’t improving on anything anymore. Not physically or mentally. (His jumper is improved but he doesn’t use it affectively imo.)

I guess i need Superstars to be killers and Bron is not in the top 20 of killers in the league. I know they don’t have advance stats for how much of a killer you are, but D-Wade, Kobe, Melo, Pierce, R.Allen, Dirk, Rose, Paul, Williams, are a few that all possess this killer attitude where they take pride in defeating another team, more than anything else. I just don’t see that in Bron. Not that he never has it, but he has to be ‘HOT’ in order to have this mindset. Is he a failure… Your an idiot if you think that. Does he not have the same mental edge as other greats before him? I think he doesn’t.

I guess sometimes I wonder to myself, “Does LeBron know how good he is?” And the fact that i’m always saying that pisses the hell outta me. I feel like dude is waiting for something instead of seizing what is his. Carpe diem Bron! lol. I ain’t no hater. I just think for how great he is he has some flaws that I personally can’t stand. Partially cause they are fixable, and partially cause I don’t know if he cares enough to change.

LMAO Philo. Shuddup already! JP, never stop that. NBK, And yeah the whole no Ring thing does play a part i’m not going to act like it doesn’t. And I think it should play a part. They could have (should have) won it all this year and didn’t. I know dude will win a ring, but i’m curious how long it will take and how it happens. On his terms or on (the killer) Wades terms. Doesn’t make him not good or a failure but he might be missing something that the greats have had.

Which is why i say i know he will win eventually, he’s too talented and with a good set of talent around him now he would have to try not to win a ring. Your right about Wade, but how i see it is he is always a killer he just doesn’t always win the game for you or play well. When LeBron is in Killer mode its like “wow he is being a killer” instead of “he’s back to his old ways.” And Wade has been a Finals MVP, so he is proven. LeBron isn’t proven yet. He’s just phenomenally good at bball. I have a stigma towards LeBron not hatred or dislike.

You know why Shaq doesn’t get enough credit? Because he wasn’t the most skilled player when he was with Kobe or Dwade. Kobe and Dwade or far superior at the sport of basketball then Shaq was. Shaq was the MDE not because of his skill set but because of 330lbs and being 7’2″. People don’t like this argument because of blah blah blah reason, but its the truth. And i’m so tired of this ‘asterisk’ idea. Who else gets asterisks? Shaq better have 4. Pippen better have 6. Magic should have a couple; this list doesn’t end. It’s either no asterisk or everyone gets one. LeBron will have an asterisk when he wins one with DWade also…

The reason Magic doesn’t have an asterisk is because he was the best player on every single title team he was a part of. Kareem scored buckets, but those were Magic’s teams. Shaq definitely is not nearly as skilled as basically anyone that has ever played in the league. But he is top 4 most dominant players ever. The most dominant player since Jordan. Kobe? not anywhere close. Shaq left Kobe for Dwyane (a worse player) and still won a title. I mean its pretty obvious who was “better” – Scottie doesn’t need asterisks because he isn’t overrated. Nobody says Scottie was a top 10 player or anything absurd like that. I in the last month have read from multiple people that Kobe is a top 5 all-time player and Wade is already the 3rd best SG of all time. All because of titles they won with Shaq the most dominant player in the NBA at the time. If Kobe just had his 2 titles in which he NEEDED another all star bigman he would not even sniff the greatest ever conversation. I have always said, there are a number of players that would have won multiple rings playing next to Shaq in the NBA during his dominance.

Fair enough. My argument about Shaq is that he would have won a title with any of the SG’s he played with. Penny (the next Jordan *GASP* came in with Shaq) Kobe turned into (the next Jordan *GASP* playing next to Shaq) Dwyane Wade won a title and became (Jordan’s “Air” Apparent *GASP* because of a title he won with Shaq). Nobody made Shaq, he came into the league and immediately transformed every team he ever played on into a title contender. (well until he got too old to be dominant) You can’t say that about anyone in the league. The closest is LeBron with what he did in Cleveland.

Agreed. And agreed. wait what, that was boring lol. Listen i’m a huge Shaq fan, your not going to get me to say anything bad about Diesel. I just can’t discredit Kobe or DWade. They played just as vital a role as Shaq imo. Also i don’t think prime Vince or B-Roy or Joe Johnson are winning with Shaq. Maybe T-Mac prime could have. Obviously i’m going a little off timeline here, but its not just Shaq with some All star SG. DWADE and Kobe are Top 5 SG ever. Thats fact in my mind. DWade is barely in that tier, but i think he still has allot left to show us.

I don’t think a Kidd or Iverson Shaq combo would have worked out to the same success. Kidd was Ason at the time and Iverson wouldn’t have dumped it to the post ever i don’t think, but thats allot of speculation.

lol who knows. Iverson shore seemed down to pass in All Star games when he had teammates worth passing too. He was always top 10 in assists when he was playing with Carmelo. either way your right its just speculation. That’s just how I feel about Shaq, and why he should be considered top 5 all time, and get more credit for every single one of his rings the he does. Well actually Phil Jackson is underrated in a way too….or is he ov errated? Phil Jackson is his own paradox.

I don’t put Oscar as a Sg. He’s got to be a PG. He had the ball in his hands as much or more than every PG in the league. I think Wade is already better than Havelicek. Equal to Barry. Just under Iverson. Not as good as MJ or Kobe obviously. I’m more curious where LeBron is going to be on the all time SF list. It’s wayyyyy to hard to say now. But theres a couple guys for sure ahead of him now.

Unfortunately i’m going straight off of old footage of highlights and not actual game watching. Wade appeared to be a more skilled player from the maybe 30 total mins i’ve seen of Havlicek. So basically what I’m saying is I can’t act as if I have an informed opinion on the matter. I dunno lol. Most the pro ball i have seen allot of is from early 80′s on.

Havlicek played a lot of Small Forward also BTW. He wasn’t primarily a SG, just a wing. Which is why I don’t like the “old” ways of labeling positions. You have a Point, Two Wings, A Utility Big, and a Center. That’s how the positions should be IMO – The Utility Big is the PF obviously, the uses for it are so varied in today’s game I just consider it the utility position.

I have an issue comparing big men in different era’s more then wings. actually let me rephrase that. I don’t at all like comparing Big-Men before and after the 3pt line was invented. Wing players i’m ok with, unless that 3pt shot is a large part of their game. Like Reggie Miller, I can’t compare him with anyone before 1979.

Just watched that Bernard King video Slam has up right now for the best MSG performances. Hmmm.. I’m not very impressed. Now, I realize that the short jumper is one of the most difficult to shoot in the game but dam! Everything he shot was 8 feet and in. He played like a PF does today. Just observations. MJ scored 5 points less but was obviously the way better player in the games. MJ’s shot slection was so crazy yet perfect.

I wasn’t thinking that you were. I was just shocked how much dude was on the post for being a ‘wing’. You watch Reggie, Kobe, and MJ and dudes are dropping 30 ft bombs and juking the hell outta you. My type of ball. Doesn’t mean King ain’t good, just not an impressive skillset in my eyes. But yeah Bron should just get half of those moves down and he’s set haha.

Same. The Lakers can play that way, but everyone is so skilled offensively that they sometimes try to ‘get theres’. The Celtics at their best are a beauty to watch also. I prefer getting the ball to the OPEN man rather than a man trying to get open. Nothing easier than to take a shot in a perfect passing rotation.
