Too fast. Too furious.
OK, so LBJ might’ve gotten away — as usual — with taking an extra step (or three) here, but the finish was too nice for us to ignore.

No player ever get’s called for that shuffle step off their last dribble….it’s almost like an unwritten rule that a player can get his steps right and then refs start counting actual steps to the goal. Lebron and Wade do it all the time. Derrick Rose must have done it 40 times this playoffs. Even a slow-footed guy like Dirk does it to get space. It’s just the way the game has evolved and I think a bunch of it came from the influx of foreign born players and their use to having that extra step in their rulebooks. Stern was always welcome to it and now it thrives. Sh*t, he’s already flirting with the international goaltending rule. When will it end?
But it’s a travel. I dun wanna beef with anyone but you don’t grab the balls with both hands and leave your foot 3 times. That’s not a shuffle step, that’s a travel that happened in the Boston series too.
I laugh everytime they show that clip of LeBron going for a breakaway dunk against the Celtics, and then he clearly holds the ball with both hands, looks back, then resumes his dribble and dunks it.
I mean, LeBron’s the man and all, but com on!
How the hell is that a travel? Three blind mice.
3 steps is 3 steps. its a travel.
eboy go to play soccer…..
its not a shuffle step what it is, is taking 2 steps WITH POSSESSION! Thats the rule you’re allowed TWO STEPS WITH POSSESSION, look at his feet AND the BALL
sorry for the caps….that junk look annoying as hell
lol ok, so THIS is a travel.
If thats a travel then every dunk in the NBA is.
co-sign Brion, if they start calling that a travel there will be no highlights…
Just gross and ugly. It’s so out of hand now.
woah he didnt take 3 steps if u watch closely you can clearly see another one after that
I remember when K.G. took 7 steps on a wide open dunk & no one said ish. The funniest thing here is what is Tyson Chandler doing. When is he going to start playing D like a big guy & at least attempt to block a shot. W.T.F. was you thinking man. AND 1 !!!!!!!
There was no extra step. He gets the extra distance on the gather. He is slick as hell with using that gather to get extra legal steps. Wade too.
If you still have the option to put the ball down, those steps are legal. It’s when you completely terminate your dribble, typically when you touch the ball with two hands, or cradle it, that the refs start counting your steps.
LeBron takes extra steps while he still has the option to dribble again, then terminates his dribble and takes even more steps. It’s not technically a travel, but it is an advantage.
It goes against the natural flow of the dribble drive. It’s a travel, it’s 4 steps. That’s how the NBA is now.
