The Real Global ICON, United States loves/hates him, China loves him, Europe loves him, Africa loves him, Philippines loves him and he is Justin Bieber on ESPY’s favorite sports player. Kobe Bryant is still the biggest draw in sports and people don’t forget he was the biggest player star during Olyimpics-PERIOD!!! Kobe next year will show the world, Dirk is a one year wonder, Heat still can’t win, and why MJ will have another shooting guard with him on his level with 6 rings. ESPY’s best NBA player, I still take KOBE. Also if the Lakers played like these dudes and hit some jumpers and run the floor we back in Finals last year. The funny thing Tyson Chandler still called Kobe THE BEST on sportsnation, sorry Dirk. BOOK IT!!!

Lol, the bench was expecting something way bigger when Kobe was alone.

co-sign Max, if they went up like that for his two-hander, I’m curious how they would’ve acted if he did his 360.

  • tomtom

Yall know what i think of Mamba so im going to make this short. He gave alot of thos guys memories they will never forget, by playing there he gave those guys a story to tell there kids, pretty cool. Also when that big guy missed the open two hander i bet Kobe was having Kwame Brown flashbacks.

They love Kobe in Asia, great for the fans there to be able to see him live like that!

I think thats the first time I’ve ever seen Kobe inbound a ball off a score (:36 sec).

  • 2K Insider

After so many reports of NBA players “considering” it’s nice to see real video of someone actually playing.

  • allison

That was a pretty soft two-hander, wasn’t it? Ball went down easy.

  • Riggs

    he was playing center?

  • Everynowhere

    @2k insider…agreed

  • seriousblack

Kobe will never be better than MJ. People born in the 90′s shouldn’t be allowed to state opinions.

  • http://slamonline.com Saviour

the were down 2 all those moaning about the dunk….he wanted the win first, showboat second.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ 1982

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Kobe had a Sasha Vujacic flashback when it looked like that one guard was going to look him off in the post to take a contested three.
    “Ain’t this about a b*tch!”

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

To the clown that keeps on using my name; I hope you get molested by a pack of wild dogs.

    @ The Seed
Till next year Kobe is the guy that got sweeped by the Mavs.
I am from Europe and I don’t love Kobe. I respect his game but man you really think we are all such groupies like you.

  • http://www.Slamonline.com Slick Ric

    @ad hahahaha, ef outta here.

  • BWill

Kobe fed tall dude @6:05 and he couldn’t finish… wouldve tied the game… Im surprised Kobe didnt cus him out or anything… something he wouldve been able to tell his grand kids.

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

“People born in the 90′s shouldn’t be allowed to state opinions. ”
Don’t make me break out my no-way-Wilt-would on you.

  • rich

hard to say where he ranks because kobe has now played more games than jordan, so while he cant really ammas a career as “great as jordan” he can be more sucessful in a way. if you think of sucess as doing as much as you can as quickly as possible than jordan, if you think of success as being on top for a long time, well then kareem. kobe would have to be in the conversation as one of the best to lace em up. still think neither of them is the best scorer ever that goes to AI in my book

  • Jono

    Kobe is part Filipino!

in the span of 7min in this video Kobe had 3 dimes. The most he had in a Lakers during the same time.lol

  • kulas

@datkid those are kids… college players in the philippines are aged between 17 to 24 years old, and the national team are players that recently graduated college(some were plucked midway through college for the national pool)

  • Galagu

yooo most these guys are college players homie or fresh out. but you right compared to states they still a lot smaller.

  • http://bedotwater.bandcamp.com BE.water

@JTaylor – Dont bring it up with me, Bring it up with the Slam team. I dont want to be you.

Find Me A Pack of wild dogs and we’ll see where they end up.

Kobe is a scorer, I dont care how many assist he averages. He makes the right basketball play. If the NBA counted the “Hockey Assist” Kobe would rank near the top. His scorer mentality has got him 5 championships at the age of 32. So if Kobe averages 7 or 8 assist and doesnt win any championships how is that making his team better. He would just be Lebron James.

  • Dru

@AD sounds like a fool. Kobe is never going to get 6 Finals MVPs. Nor will he ever get league MVP, DPOY, & Finals MVP in the same season. Take a seat simpleton.

  • Chou

I was there! Kobe sold out the whole Araneta Coliseum (where Thrilla in Manila took place) by his lonesome. As a Filipino, I’m glad this happened again. And this just in, he’s bringing CP3, Tyreke, James Harden, Deandre Jordan and Derrick Williams next week.

  • Chou

    You can leave out Spo.

  • Chrisfrom-Holland-(rememberRikSmits)

    Serious black,
Dude dropped 81 in a game and your saying he will never be as good as MJ.
    Come on now…

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

“Who is your favorite sports star?

On a CNN website Kobe Bryant is ranked 3rd in popular voting among sports stars. the only other current NBA player is Derrick Rose at 9. MJ is tied with Kobe at 3. MJ still got pull. Lebron is gone off the list. this is why KObe is loved. He is the best. Kobe gets 6 rings and MJ calls him his equal. BOOK IT!!!

  • B.C.

So easy for Kobe to dominate on every aspect in that weak league shooting, passing, defense and rebounding shows how good you have to be to play in the NBA.

  • Silverselectjd

By the way, Slam peeps, that’s not in Manila. That’s in Quezon City. But thanks for the coverage.
