Video: Team NIKE Episode 3

Dethroning the Champs.

Dyckman Park on 204 & Nagle will be live tonight as powerhouse Team NIKE attempts to remain unbeaten, going up against a tough Mann Up squad at 8 p.m. The chronicles of Coach Bingo’s team continue in the video above, as Team NIKE defeated defending Dyckman champs Take No Prisoners in their second game of the summer. With reputations always on the line at Dyckman, it was no surprise tempers flared mid-way through the game as Team NIKE began to pull away. Led by Antawn ‘Anti Freeze’ Dobie and Quinton ‘T2′ Hosley, Team NIKE put aside the nonsense and focused on the task at hand: dethroning the four-time champs. Now united with a full 10-man roster, the Boys in Black have the confidence and swagger of a team on a mission. Will Team NIKE be beaten? It hasn’t happened yet, but with the arsenal of talent at Dyckman, be sure to expect the unexpected.

just reading some of Ron Artests tweets a minute ago and read something very interesting…I’m looking at what Nike has done in DC for the last 2-3 years by endorsing the Goodman League, and in Harlem by now endorsing the Dyckman League …at first glance you can perceive it as cool, a large corporation is showing love to the hood but if you look a little deeper its all about corporate control over a demographic base. Ron Artest was trying to get Team Nike to play against his squad but Bingo tells him that Nike won’t allow him to play any teams in the Tri-State Tournament (Ron Artest’s tournament)…why? because its sponsored by Ballin’….since when is there corporate competition in streetball? thats not the way streetball works….hold up a second, some big billion dollar corporation throwing sponsorship money at a local street basketball establishment, picking the best players away from their respective teams and forming a superteam called Team Nike ain’t the way streetball works either….ever wonder why you’re not hearing very much about the EBC nowadays?? yeah its still going on. One of the primary basketball tournament in NY, played on the most hallowed outdoor court in the world has taken a backseat this summer……I feel you Ron, its all divide and conquer….#fightthepower lol
