Michael Vick: $100 Million Man Once Again

(via ESPN) - ”Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles agreed on a six-year contract on Monday that again makes the Pro Bowl quarterback one of the highest-paid players in the NFL. A league source told ESPN’s Andrew Brandt the deal is worth $100 million and a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that it contains roughly $40 million guaranteed.”

Vick will be the first player in NFL history to sign two $100 Million contracts. His first 9-figure deal was for $130 Million with the Falcons in 2004.

    You know, Vick didn’t really do his time for animal cruelty. I mean, I’ve seen people commit far more egregious examples of animal cruelty, like stuffing a kitten into a Pringles can to die, and get suspended sentences. His time was for something else, I think the interstate trafficking stuff or something.
    And the point made by What, was that the decision that killing some animals is cool, and other animals is evil, is based on cultural biases, not some human standard of decency. Dogs have protected status here, deer, pigs, cows and chickens to name a few, do not. So the idea of forcing dogs to fight each other seems horrible, the thought of cramming livestock in tiny cages while they are force fed before death does not.
    What’s humane and inhumane depends somewhat on where you live and what you believe. I think that fighting dogs is wrong because that’s not how we should treat animals. But, I also don’t care that most of the protein on my plate had a short and painful life before it was slain for me to eat. It’s a weird setup.

    i love dogs i love pitbulls i have one actually and she is the smartest kindest loving dog i have ever had and ever will have, i could never hurt her and it hurts me foos like this dude do stuff to poor animals.. but wit that being said,, he did it its over im sure he learned his lesson and he is still a good player get over it i have… it sucks but whatever

    Allen: Yeah, he got a short sentence if it was for running an illegal dog ring. They kind of gave him something in between.
