It’s been a long summer of parties and travel for Dirk Nowitzki, but he’s back on the hardcourt as the German National Team prepares for EuroBasket in Lithuania next week.

    It’s hard for me to say cause I can’t believe it, but I use to not like Dirk at all. Didn’t like his game, didn’t like his face, held the whole Hitler thing against him(jk). I guess being a champ truly does change perception cause I like dude allot now. His game is even more impressive to me and I don’t know if he’s all that much better than he use to be. Kaman? WTH bud…

    Where does Dirk rank in the best PF all time debate? Most have (in no order) Duncan, Malone, Barkley, KG, Kevin McHale.

    He’s a better scorer than all of them. and Duncan is a center. Not nearly as effective defensively or on the boards as those chaps though.

    Chingy imo The best player to play PF was Malone. He was the epitomy of what a PF should be. He was tuff, rebounded, scored efficiently. Barkley is a very close #2, KG, TD, Dirk, Elvin Hayes, McHale. Allot of people put Duncan atop. I don’t think he was more skilled than CB, or KM. Defensively obviously he was better. KG should be in the debate. Dirk is either going to be in the top 5 or just looking inside when he retires. Definitley top 8 with out a doubt.

    ^ that comment makes me very sad over Chris Webbers injuries, coulda easily been top 5… He makes my top 10 tho without a doubt.

    LakeShow, I agree to some extent. Duncan wasn’t as good offensively than KM and Chuck. But his defense puts him over the top imo. And his rings.

    And Duncan has only been a C for the past couple years. In his prime, he’s a PF.

    They looked rusty but with room for improvement in last week’s Eurobasket preparation tournament, the BEKO supercup.
    Shaky game against Belgium, who gave every team they faced headaches last week, and lost badly to Greece. Then put away WC-Finalist Turkey, who showed up with all their NBA players yet had a terrible tournament.
    Deutschland has too many bigs who have a perimeter game and not enough low post bangers, Kaman being the exception.
    Nowitzki, Kaman and Mr. Unspeakable name, Schafarttzzzziiik, played well, Haman was average, as usual lately, but i’m optimistic they can take it up a notch.
    Nice frontcourt, very nice actually, subpar backcourt.
