Videos: Kevin Durant Plays at Rucker, Scores 66

(UPDATED) KD Trey 5 brought his game and backpack to NYC.

Early on Monday evening word surfaced that Kevin Durant would be blessing New York City’s famed Rucker Park with his presence. Less than an hour later he arrived at Rucker, chilled, stretched and warmed up. Shortly thereafter he lit up the night with a breathtaking 66 point performance. How did KD feel about his time in NYC? “No lie, just had one of the best times of my life at Rucker park..wow! I love NY,” tweeted the two-time NBA scoring champ.

The video above is all the footage that’s surfaced so far. Check back later for more.

Nightmare:(Noun) Having to guard Kevin Durant. FYI, that dancing is a Harlem thing, let it be known we don’t do that in Brooklyn. I’ve been all over America and I have yet to come across another city like New York. None of the major ones come close. Welcome to the EMPIRE STATE KD!

Rucker is nuts. When I heard about Dyckman tourney and the hype behind Team Nike I was wondering what happened to Rucker? I thought Rucker was THE top summer tourney spot for hoops. Then this video of KD dropping 66 lets me know Rucker hasn’t lost any of it’s magic.

Always impressed by guys his size with a stroke like that. Once worked out in a gym with Dirk a few years back where he was making EVERY shot he took. The shooting is nice and all, but the consistency leaves me floored. they make every shot look the same, no matter the distance.
The best Nba players (and probably even lesser ones) are truly obsessed with their game, shot mechanics, reps etc.

@Justagay and the rest of the haters are your typical losers that wish to God they were from NY. It’s not our fault that your city doesn’t matter. Most of the hate comes from the ‘flyover’ country idiots, where the only exposure they have to the rest of the world is their television and slow internet connections. I can speak for the whole city when I say that the opinions of you lames don’t count for anything.

@jonny: wherever your country bum ass is from, I guarantee nobody considers your state an authority on what to wear. I’m pretty sure you’re a typical slob, so refrain from discussing fashion.

I don’t think anyone was surprised by KD’s limitless range and his not really taking over until the 4th when his team needed the win (he seems like that kind of guy), but to not freak out when people stormed him over and over like that is real class and professionalism. Sure, he’s used to it, but having 20+ people mob you and hang all over you when you just made a big shot can’t be fun. After that angry fastbreak dunk, I’m pretty sure he yelled half because of excitement and half so the people wouldn’t rush so fast…

Wish we had that in Salt lake city…
