Videos: Kevin Durant Plays at Rucker, Scores 66

(UPDATED) KD Trey 5 brought his game and backpack to NYC.

Early on Monday evening word surfaced that Kevin Durant would be blessing New York City’s famed Rucker Park with his presence. Less than an hour later he arrived at Rucker, chilled, stretched and warmed up. Shortly thereafter he lit up the night with a breathtaking 66 point performance. How did KD feel about his time in NYC? “No lie, just had one of the best times of my life at Rucker park..wow! I love NY,” tweeted the two-time NBA scoring champ.

    Rucker is nuts. When I heard about Dyckman tourney and the hype behind Team Nike I was wondering what happened to Rucker? I thought Rucker was THE top summer tourney spot for hoops. Then this video of KD dropping 66 lets me know Rucker hasn’t lost any of it’s magic.

    Much of the buzz in NY nowadays is about Dcykman but Rucker hasn’t totally fallen off. KD is just a beast. @Hurrican: country boys are not allowed to speak on what’s wack and what’s not, especially as it pertains to The City, so fall back.

    People just love to hate on NY, like the south doesn’t breed some of the most dancing-azz men in the country.

    Anyway, its dope to see KD at the Rucker tearing it down. Really no way to defend a 6’10″ dude with a decent handle that can pull up from 30 feet.

    Can we hand the best offensive player in the L title fully over to KD. His mid range is equal to Melo and Kobe, and his 3 point shot might be better than both. He has an arsenal that no one has. (along with his height) He is virtually unguardable. Unless Artest decides he is guardable.

    NY is the mecca of the sport…period. No dispute. I’m not from NY, I’ve spent very little time in NY, but thats something that should be understood by all basketball fans. Anyways yeah, deep down inside (maybe very very deep) everybody out there just a little bit wishes they were from NY

    @JTaylor21….nobody ever steps onto a court in NYC, or anywhere else where SERIOUS streetball is being played and says to himself I’m gonna “wow the crowd with passing skills”….when you step into hostile environments where everyone on the court is trying to make a name as the dude who gave you 30, the primary goal is to shut EVERYTHING down…..and uh yep…he did that
