Video: Chris Bosh Talks ‘Bosh Spice’ on ESPN’s First Take

CB and Skip Bayless face off.

Today, Chris Bosh went head-to-head with his biggest critic, Skip Bayless, when he visited the set of ESPN’s talk show First Take. The group talked about Bosh’s performance throughout the season, which led to, as would be expected, a discussion about Bayless’ stupid “Bosh Spice” nickname for the Heat forward.     Sure, STAT’s got bravado to last him a couple lifetimes but neither one of those guys would lead a team to a chip as the best player. Also, if you’re going to account for bravado, you should also account for durability. Outside of being one the wrong end of a Jamison elbow, he hasn’t really had any major injury issues. But with Amare, he’s been out for his eye, knees, back…

    Cosign pretty much everyone here except for DieselMech. I don’t think you can say STAT > Bosh or Bosh > STAT definitively. They’re both offensive bigs with a nice midrange and good quickness. STAT forces more bad shots (mostly because if Bosh does, Lebron and Wade would eat him alive). I also think Bosh’s game will age better because STAT relies so much on his athletic abilities.

    Allen, Bayless says things people wouldn’t get away with almost daily (or it was almost daily as of about 6 months ago when I stopped watching anything that guys face makes an appearance on), it seemed to be so consistently outlandish and ridiculous that he got a free pass, like the Family Guy or South Park of ESPN.

    Yeah, I agree. My beef is with his bosses at ESPN. He’s basically equating poor performance with being a female. There is a problem with an organization condoning that, even if that’s how men speak on the street.
    It’s real lax over there. That’s the big problem.

    Hmmm… Skip seems to be doing what he’s been doing for as long as I’ve seen him on TV. Chris could be blammed for his performance, but on the other hand, Chris also seemed like he could’ve used more touches. Whenever Chris did well the Heat did well, bottom line. Entertainment yo.

    If Stat is on Heat they win title plain and simple. Also Skip states some dumb stuff like Vince Young is a better qb than Vick, but at least he has a view point. So many people today flip flop and don’t stand for anything. I watch Skip because if you sit across from him, you need to be on your A game. The only person who kills Skip is Stephen A. Smith, he killed Skip last week on the show. ESPN can we get Smith’s show back. Also kudos to Bosh for manning up and sticking up for himself. Lebron needs get up there and not waste time playing flag football.

    There’s nothing wrong with seeing someone’s point, understanding you’re wrong, and admitting it. Pretending to be a know-it-all and coming off as a buffoon is worse.

    Skip should have said that he’ll stop calling him Bosh Spice (for the family) and for now on just call him the “RuPaul of big men” each time he “witnesses” another soft game by Chris Bosh. That way the family name doesn’t get disrespected, and Chris Bosh is no longer being compared to a female, after all, RuPaul is truly a man. YOU BETTER WORK! Chris Bosh, Chris Bosh!
