Video: Kevin Durant, Other NBA Stars in Luda Day Celebrity Game


Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Jennings and Josh Selby were some of the pros hooping in the Luda Day Celebrity Game. Very little defense was played, as the footage above demonstrates.

    I don’t think you can judge Selby from these summer league games. He’s probably gonna be asked to play the point in the L and thats gonna be tough for him.

    Selby was rated #1 at one point. Then an injury , a suspension, and the Kansas coach not playing him hurt his stock. (Check his college stats, not exactly the most enticing.) But yes, he was most definitely a steal. He’ll have to fight Conley for that spot, or they could let him try to get some time at the 2…

    NO TAYLOR, FROM CAREFUL OBSERVATION OF HIS COLLEGE GAMES, AND OTHER GAMES, HE HAS TONS OF TALENT. HE CAN SCORE WHENEVER, WHEREVER. ASK JENNINGS. HE HAS GOOD HANDLES, AND PLAYS SOLID D. OF COURSE, LIKE EVERY OTHER ROOKIE EVER, HE WILL HAVE TO IMPROVE. BUT HES MORE THAN CAPABLE. FUNNY HOW KU ‘FANS’ LIKE TO SHTT ON HIM ALL THE TIME. KNOW-NOTHINGS CONTINUE TO KNOW NOTHING.

    shelby is to small to play the SG position but he can definitely shine brighter then Conley. He has a better outside shot and a better inside game. Conley is lucky he signed his contract before this kid steals his spot

    It could be a real nice combo with Conley and Selby. Each of them grab around 25-35 mins a night depending on who is playing better. Conley is more of a distributer and Selby a scorer so it should work just fine. I see him getting some run at the 2 with out a doubt.

    I think you guys are underrating Conley. When he signed that huge contract I was shocked as well, but watching him play in the playoffs against the Spurs I realized he can play. He’s not flashy so I guess that turns people off, but he’s a nice steady point. He distributes the ball, plays solid defense and can drive and knock down open jumpers. The Grizz really don’t need much more than that being that they have 3 scorers in their starting line up. Vasquez isn’t a slouch either. I just don’t think there are minutes for Selby at the point. Maybe he can play a little two guard against smaller backcourts.

    Selby fell to the 2nd round for a reason. And Conley isn’t bad, but he isn’t worth that contract. Especially if the CBA changes.

    If he ends up like Allen Iverson then the whole scouting system in the league is a massive and utter failure.

    Selby is an insane athlete, has a WET jumpshot and is a great finisher around the rim–I’m surprised by how well he finishes in traffic. If he was on a crappier team than Memphis I’d bet on him for ROY.

    Memphis was reluctant to offer OJ Mayo a raise. I wouldn’t be surprised if they let Josh Selby take some of his minutes. Selby-Conley-Allen is a nice triumvirate at the guard spot, and even though Mayo is a legit 2 guard, size and everything, just remember that Memphis is kinda cheap.
    Selby has all the makings of a great 2 guard except for his lack of size. How tall is he exactly? 6’2? 6’3?
