What is there to say about Rasheed Wallace? Over a 15-year career he brought his brash attitude to four different NBA cities (well, five, if you count one game in Atlanta), developed a reputation as one of the game’s most historic hotheads, spawned a popular blog in his honor and even had a memorable name-drop on Season 1 of Chappelle’s Show.

Oh, and he could ball, too. A McDonald’s All-American out of high school, Wallace took his talents to Chapel Hill to play for UNC and coach Dean Smith. Two years later, Sheed went No. 4 overall to Washington in 1995, and went on to score more than 15,000 points, earn four All-Star bids in the ’00s and win an NBA title in 2004 with Detroit.

The outspoken Philly native will go down as one the League’s most legendary trash talkers and a referee’s worst nightmare. Wallace’s 304 career technical fouls are an NBA record, and he also holds the single-season mark with 41 in ’00-01. But on his birthday, all is forgiven. Sheed turns 37 today, and in honor of the recently retired big man, enjoy some of his most entertaining and impressive on-camera moments, compiled in the gallery above.
