Dear Summer: Kemba Walker
How the Bobcats’ first pick spent his offseason.
With or without a lockout, it’s undeniable that the summer of 2011 featured plenty of incredible basketball moments. NBA players traveled the world, participated in streetball games and charity events, acted in movies and television shows, took up new hobbies and plenty more, all to enjoy themselves, promote their brands and take their minds off the messy labor negotiations that have clouded the League’s otherwise bright future. Our “Dear Summer” series will be providing video/photo galleries of all of your favorite players’ offseasons, allowing you the opportunity to check out (almost) everything they’ve been up to since the ’10-11 season ended, all in one place. Up next: Newly drafted Bobcats guard Kemba Walker.

Has anyone had a better year than Kemba Walker? After capping off an incredible March Madness tourney, BX’s finest picked up right where he left off during the summer. After meeting the Commander in Chief last May, he had an emotional and successful Draft night that landed him with the Charlotte Bobcats, followed by an Under Armour endorsement and a KICKS cover shoot (undoubtedly the best part of his summer!). The upcoming rookie has also hooped in a few pick-up games, furthering proving that he’s armed with lighting quickness and a vicious killer instinct that will surely put him in the running for the next Rookie of the Year award. Roll through the gallery above to check out every step of Kemba’s jam-packed summer of 2011.
