Video: Amar’e Stoudemire Says Knicks Coming for Mavericks’ Throne

Amar’e Stoudemire — helpfully wearing a jacket with the word “Amar’e” and his jersey number stitched on it — warns the Dallas Mavericks about “watching their throne” because the New York Knickerbockers are supposedly coming for it. Of course they are.

Not with the team they have now they won’t

  • Fat Lever

The only throne the Knicks could contend for is a porcelain one.

lmao hahahaha we we’ll c bout that

    STAT is DRUNK.

and that chick behind him is fine.

  • NJ4Life

    High as f@#%

  • NJ4Life

That chick behind him looks like DRose in drag if you look at the vid player window without playing the video itself.

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

DRose says “no doubt I will win multiple chips” and y’all praise him.
Amare says “the knicks are coming for the Mavs throne” and y’all are mad?

@NJ4Life you killed my libido with that comment because it’s so true!

  • MikeC.

What’s he supposed to say? “We’re not even going to try to win championships because we don’t want any.” ?!? The East is up for grabs as long as Miami doesn’t get any quality bigs and a starting quality PG. Boston is old, Orlando won’t do much unless Arenas spends the offseason in Phoenix drinking their magic water and breathing their magic air, Chicago is rock solid with the only questions being whether or not Boozer can take scoring pressure off Rose and are their 2Gs consistent from deep. With some depth and the addition of a quality big (every team in the league needs a quality 5 with the exceptions of Orlando and both LA teams) the Knicks are in the mix. The 2012 season is going be nice, if it ever happens.

  • bull22

@jtaylor, thats an easy one, we dont know what is going to happen but drose at least has a defensive team that gives him a chance. the knicks got two big
mouth players in amare and carmelo who cant even defend and could not even win a playoff game much less a trophy…. hahahahahaha thanks for the laughs aamare.

  • Animalxxx13

Get pass the bobcats first dude haha

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

shout out to MikeC for recognizing the majestic qualities of Phoenix AZ. — Stat just sayin what he should have said. I really don’t like these bait to hate questions…

  • BlackStar

Leave it up to JTaylor21 to deem us all hypocrites and expose our dirty laundry. Thank you brethren. Lol …

But on the real, I don’t think someone should talk crap about what they will do unless you see they are putting in the work to become better players so that they can live up to the trash they talk. D Rose worked hard in the summer to improve on some of his weaknesses and everyone not named Ray Charles can see that he is doing what he can to become better. Amare on the other hand is an athletic beast that has NO REASON to average less than 10 rbs a game and play better defense than he does. If he has enough energy to bang on people in the lane, he can also use that energy to get a few more rebounds to help his team. And how long has Amare been in the league now and he doesn’t play D? Hmmm …

  • RobbieJay

i like your enthusiasm stat, but you need a dose of realism.

  • BlackStar

What’s crazy is that Zach Randolph has half the bunnies of Amare, if that, but averages more rebounds that Amare. That’s booty to def!

Amare is high azz f**k…lol #KnickCityBabii

amar’e amar’e amar’e!!!huuuh…that’s my stephen a right there. 2 Stars in the top 5 scoring leaders couldn’t steal a single from an old celtics squad. And he is talking about a championship. Take ur @ss to gym and take that fatty Melo with you and work on grabbing boards and DEFENDING.

  • statnmelo

yall are clowns that clearly didnt watch the playoffs to see that stat and chauncey were hurt. LeBrick woulda got swept too if wade and bosh were hurt.

  • kbj

yea so are the wizards lol

  • MaxIsNative

Dirk is laughing somewhere in Germany.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

come on dude, why dudes all ways trying to bring Rose name up, now you couldnt see Rose interview but I bet he wasnt talking smack like amare just did. It sounded like more of a belief thing than a “yeah, we going to kill the mavericks, who want some, WHAT!”

  • Yesse

Yeah, right. We can’t even beat the Timberwolves on My Player in 2K12 and we got “My Player”, Melo, Stat, Al Jeff and D Harris.

  • Hart

    yeah tell em Amar’e NYK4LIFE

  • RaZkOL

He’s coming for their throne….so they can wash it and give it back. He’s got nothing else to do till the lock out ends.

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

Eh.. I think the Knicks will have some amaznig wins during the regular season and maybe even put together a nice record with 55 wins or something, but naw Amare… No one scared of the D’Antoni Knickerbockers.

  • RaZkOL

He meant their Toliets. Cuz his team is $#!+

  • http://www.optimabbc.be Max

    Look at his eyes..
Seems he has been smoking some.

  • Wray

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder at anything. Ever.

  • bull22

either way there needs to be a SEASON…. all this chestpuffing these veterans and owners are doing is a huge waste of time…

  • LA Huey

Main difference between championship proclamations about the Bulls and Knicks: Chicago’s has proven itself to be a great defensive team, gained it’s spot among the league’s elite, and it’s core has had a full season together. The Knicks haven’t proven anything and their core hasn’t even got a training camp together yet.

Knicks gonna have the last laugh.

  • Cameron

Damn…The lockout must mean players can now smoke the ganja without being harassed by the L

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

With the proven coaching skills of Mike D’Antoni and the can-do attitude of Melo and the team-first defence expertise of Amare, the Knicks are bound to win.

  • Marco

this fool is either drunk or high or both

  • ab40

    @ Lakeshow.. 55? no way. Probably 43/45

  • http://fivemag.de Speedy

I hope his knee stays intact and he walks the walk instead of just talking…

  • bnets

they should avoid getting swept first LMFAO

  • bunn3

    Hes soooo baked it stupid

  • hambone

maybe he had just listened to that over rated kanye/jay z album…nice to see he got dressed up…why does he want everyone to stand up? are they sitting down?

  • rich

who knows maybe they get a center and the new assistant can help on defense like phoenix’s coach did

  • slam-man

Amare is definetly the Knicks true leader, even if Melo is the best player.

  • Heals

It’s all light hearted. He’s out having a good time, some guy shoves a camera in his face “How about your team next year?,” and Amare responds “we coming for their throne.” No biggie, but I guess he should of pontificated about their lack of back court depth/athleticism, the need for more of a defensive identity, a better 2-man game between him and Melo, a reliable C, and so on. Oh yeah he was at the BET Awards, c’mon take it easy on him (aside from the good jokes – NJ4Life maybe she’s got a good handle?)…

  • http://www.slamonline.com unf*ckwitable

    That boys been smokin.

  • Mr. Smith

Yup. All light-hearted talk to be honest.

Me being a Knicks fan, I want them to win but I can’t see it happening this year. The Mav’s won’t get it again not if the Bulls have a season like their last or if the Heat actually do something this year. Bulls vs Heat is my predicted final.

If CP3 goes to the Knicks though then we will see a completely different team altogether. That’s pretty much the Big-3 right there. :P

Seriously though, a rebounding beast like Amar’e, shooting tank Melo and a playmaker like CP3. Well then the Knicks would be going far.
