The Duke guard does his thing.
Here’s some good footage of Duke freshman Austin Rivers doing work at the 2011 NC Pro-Am, courtesy of our homies at BallisLife.

Kid is dope.
he got skills but aint going to be abig star just like JT Terrell in SLAM PUNKS(wake forest)
He’s Good. But he still never finishes with his left hand.
he might be pretty good… but he acts like a total punka**…
Was that Rasheed Wallace who almost got dunked on???
@ benni – I’m with you too. The boy can ball, but I feel there is something “missing” about him. When you saw clips of D Rose or John Wall in high school, going to college, you KNEW they were just scratching the surface … and when they figure it all out, it would be lights out! I don’t feel this way about Rivers. When he makes it to the league, he’s going to have his hands full because I don’t think he can keep up with the athletic PGs that will make him work on defense. He definitely will not be a star in the NBA … and will continue the curse of Duke players that never pan out in the L (I only wish Grant Hill would have broke that curse – that was my man back in the day).
Or maybe I’m just hating on the young man because he picked Duke over UNC … Lol ..
Kid absolutely refuses to finish with his left hand.
im from NC done checked him plenty of times …NO pg SKILLS AT ALL NONE…undersize …dont move at all off the ball…he a STRAIGHT iso player thats gon struggle against bigger defenders …he wanted no parts of Dominque Sutton they got SMACKED by 30plus…he turns around the VERY next game n when off against bums …lost ALOT of respect for that sh*t
Dude seems like he’s gonna be good. But I agree with BlackStar. Dude’s gonna struggle against bigger an stronger guys. He just seems like a technical foul waiting to happen. (After he was jawnin’ with that guy and started the altercation by bumping him..) Dude needs to keep his ego in check or else he’s gonna get some hard fouls if opposing teams have to “foul” him.
That being said, dude reminds me of a taller Jimmer with more athleticism. Unorthodox shot, quirky, finishes somehow at the rim, etc. And I live in Utah, and I’ve seen Jimmer play plenty.. I think his handles are better than Jimmer’s though.
