Video: Josh Selby Impact League Mixtape

The rookie shows off his game.

Coming into Kansas as a highly touted recruit, Josh Selby, for whatever reason, didn’t perform as expected. After a lone, underwhelming year in Jayhawk country, many questioned his decision to enter June’s Draft. Well, if this summer is any indication, Selby may be ready to prove a lot of people wrong. Some player’s skills translate better to the NBA compared to collegiate ball, and this seems to be the case with Selby. He has shown some impressive athleticism and the ability to score in bunches, albeit against lackluster defense. This mix probably has a lot of GMs shaking their heads wondering why they passed on this kid.

These highlights showcase the exact reason he wasn’t drafted earlier. from Truehoop “Josh Selby was drafted low with the idea that he might be a little showy or overly scoring-focused. This highlight tape of him being showy and scoring-focused is designed to prove he was drafted too low.” lol

cosign with nbk… I think this is way overblown….I’m not doubting Josh’s ability here but to crown him under-rated based on Summer highlights is pre-mature. You look at these summer leagues and guys are playing half-ass most of the times. A person in Josh’s situation would of course make a name for himself in these scenarios, they are going against like 6’6′ centers and having game points run up to 130+. I’ll give a more particular example to illustrate my point:
The game where the Baltimore team (LBJ, CP, Melo) went up against Durant’s guys. According to the SLAM video highlights, Durant blew by LBJ in many face-up situations in those games and vice-versa. I find that VERY hard to believe when you consider that most recently in the Eastern semi-finals, Lebron was tasked with (and modestly succeeded) in locking up Derrick Rose. You are telling me that Durant is quicker than Rose? I say not but simply just a half-ass attitude from LBJ in summer games – typical of any NBA player in these type of games. Let’s see how Josh performs on NBA game day 1 (and beyond when the strike settles) before ppl start crowning him underrated.

NBK.. the thing is he passes it and finds the open man all the time.. but those aren’t highlights to be shown in a mixtape.

Well he didnt do that in high school or college. Which is why he fell to the 2nd round.

NBK, ACTUALLY HE DID PASS VERY WELL IN COLLEGE. I DOUBT YOU WATCHED VERY MUCH OF HIM, IF ANY. HE IS A TRUE COMBO GUARD, CAN SCORE WITH EASE, STYLE AND GRIT. AND CAN MAKE THE SMART PLAY, LOOKS FOR OTHERS. HOW MANY GUYS HAVE HIT A GAME WINNER IN THEIR FIRST COLLEGE GAME?
