Video: SF Giants Closer Brian Wilson Says the ’86 Celtics Are The Best in NBA History

An interesting point of view, we guess.

San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson was previously only a small part of the NBA 2K12 advertisement that features a variety of people—including Michael Jordan, Mark Cuban and Drake, among others—arguing who the best NBA team of all-time is. But now Wilson gets his own spot, in which he describes in detail why the 1986 Boston Celtics are undoubtedly history’s greatest squad. Can’t say we agree, but we definitely approve of his passion.

Bird, Parish, McHale could barely contain MJ alone. MJ+Pip+Rodman>>>>’86 Celtics. Nice spot though.

    96′ bulls.. No argument..

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

67′ Sixers. 3 Hall of Famers. atleast 5 All Stars (not in the same season) and Wilt Chamberlain (averaging 24PPG 24RPG & 7.8APG), a championship and a 68-13 record. IMO that’s the best team ever

I’m not saying the 2008 Celtics compare to the ’96 Bulls or ’86 Celtics….but come one, how was the heat talked about by that f ag drake and the ’08 Celtics weren’t even mentioned? At least they won a championship in their first year together

  • JTaylor21

Rodman couldn’t stop McHale, Pippen couldn’t stop Bird and Parish kills whichever dead body the bulls choose to throw at center. That leaves MJ vs one of the greatest perimeter defenders of all-time (MJ wins that one but ’86 Bos wins the game).

How the heck can the Miami Heat be compared to any of these teams. Thank God for Mark Cuban to shut him up

I will normal be the 96 bulls, but thinking back that 89″ Pistons was serious. Isaiah, Joe , Bill Lamb, young hunger Rodman. that defense was sufficating. Isaiah on the offense end, beat The Showtime in 4..

I say Brian Wilson is the biggest hipster doofus of 2011.

If you have 2K11 don’t bother buying 2K12, i bought it yesterday and was disappointed. Why can you not put the all time greats on the one team. At least in 2k11 you could trade them ( i made toronto into a team of Magic,MJ,Pip,Kemp and Ewing) that’s the whole reason i bought 2K12 so i could put Penny, MJ,Pip, Drobinson and Kareem Abdul on the same team but you can’t.

  • BBaller

And the Mavs are 5th!!!!!!! What does a team have to do?
My team is the Spurs, i was glad to see David Robinson not disrespected and given a 93 rating.Hakeem is a beast along with MJ.

  • BBaller

My main objective was to create 3 teams ,pre 90s(West,Wilt,Kareem etc), 90s(MJ,Shaq,Drob,Penny etc) and a current team(Lebron,Kobe,Rose).

  • BBaller

If i’m wrong can anyone tell me how to go about that, thanks

You need to beat each challenge to unlock the teams.

  • DieselMechanic

@Cam the 08 Celtics were dripping with swag juice and everybody was healthy. Unfortunately things haven’t quite worked out that way since then for the C’s. They should be in the discussion the way they stomped the Lakers and everybody else they played.

  • RaZkOL

72-10 says it all. And NOTHING can stop MJ.

  • LA Huey

Thanks for the heads up, BBaller. I wasn’t planning to get it anyways (not at $60 for what amounts to a roster update).

  • http://Slamonline.coM nbk

It isnt a roster update at all. The create a jumper is dope. The collission system is new. Dribble system. Post up is completely revamped, playin in the post is actually fun, for the first time in the history of basketball games. Basically if you have a good computer you can get it for $30 on steam if apending $60 is the problem. Which i feel is highway robbery but the majority of my vg time goes to 2k.

2k12 is really that much of an improvement. It’s super frustrating at first because, well, it’s reramped and it isn’t what I was used too. I was losing on rookie mode. But once you get the hang of it, it is really really good. Better than 2k11.
If you can’t put all the greats on one team though, I’ll be pissed. I wanted to put a team of Magic, Stock, MJ, young Kobe, Bird, Pippen, Lebron, Duncan, Olajuwon, Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar and Dr. J (if I can’t find a good download version of Rick Barry) and just play in association mode for sh*ts and giggles.

  • http://Slamonline.coM nbk

There is a way to do it once they are unlocked.

  • http://sajkflf.com Jukai

Sweetness. Now I may have to do the unthinkable and drop the toughness level to “all-star” because I’m just getting frustrated with some of them.

  • http://Slamonline.coM nbk

I just have an issue with how many shots the computer hits at a higher difficulty. Defense feels helpless even if you keep the CPU out of the paint.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I’ve been getting my a** kicked on that 2k12.
Seriously, the L-Wolves dropped 120 on me, shooting 60%-plus from the field…

  • http://Slamonline.coM nbk

Lol exactly what I mean. Do the training camp, I did it last night, takes about an hour, totally worth it.

  • ripslam

Copped the Bird cover the other day. Playing on the lowest levels makes you want to pull out your hair. Anything you do results in a turnover or missed/blocked shot. You can’t make the most simple pass without getting the ball swiped.
That said, the new Creating a Legend and My Player modes are sweet. The new shoe customization options are also a nice feature.
