The Mars Reel unearths this exciting clip of Allen Iverson showing Jeff Teague and others that he’s still got, well, a little something.

    Yes! Long live AI

  • nbaNw8

    So sick.

  • V

To this day it beats me why he’s still not in the NBA..

  • ai83

SIMPLY THE BEST, STILL THE ANSWER #3 DON´T FORGET

AI=LEGEND, NBA & GAME NEED TO AI

  • LA Huey

“Find a master before you can come back into the dojo”

  • http://360special.blogspot.com/ dev0

hope more highlights surface of him playing, dude needs to get his groove back in the NBA soon

  • http://knicks.com Gametimeweezy

    got em

  • http://staticseth.blogspot.com Seth

That was pretty. Wish there was a slo-mo replay.

I just like the idea of AI playing again. This was pretty basic crossover with limited defensive effort – doesn’t really showcase what AI still has left in the tank.

  • http://slamonline.com wtf

    So hood.

  • http://redoftoothandclaw.ca/ niQ

    Still has that filthy crossover.

  • Stillballin

AI still can ball.. He just need another shot. Any team in the nba. Hope Miami gets him. King of crossover.

  • EM

Boy, AI looks like me in that footage..and I’m 45. A slow crossover against no D and ending with a short bankshot with no lift. HAHA….that used to be days of going strong to the rack to challenge anyone defending. Father Time is showing big time in that footage. AI would make a mockery of himself if he went to training camp.

  • Dope(Georgia Boy)

David Stern Blackballed Him That’s why He ain’t in the NBA now

    That Crossover Still Lethal

  • Jason Heartly

That was lightwork for ai. That man still has his whole ballhandling arsenal. I doubt he even has to practice his handles…which is convenient because I have a hunch he’s not too fond of practice.

  • KD

still with the nasty handle. just imagine that 10 times faster 14 yrs ago!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

Too bad the whole NBA is Jeff Teague clones…

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

His talent is not the problem, it’s his mindset.

  • G

100% exactly what JTaylor21 said, Stevie Franchise was another one with the wrong mindset that I miss watching

  • http://www.offthebackboard.wordpress.com OTB

David Stern blackballed him? Did you not see the disastrous way he handled himself in Memphis and Detroit? Why would another NBA team give him a chance?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

It’s over. He’s so much slower, no lift either after the 3 games in Memphis it was over taking a month and a half off of basketball at the age of 34 can destroy your career especially if you live life like A.I., he should be happy he got to finish as a Sixer the NBA did blackball him and he could def play a role for a team but he will quit again, you won’t see Kobe playing if he can’t dominate, AI is the same way he can’t handle it but he would rather be in the NBA. No point in a return, feel bad for dude he would really humiliate himself in training camp.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

Should have never said “I’d rather retire than come off the bench” that showed the league that he indeed does think he is bigger than the NBA. Should have never said NBA Cares is “Fake” at the end of the day AI was just too real for the NBA.

  • KING DAVID

the greatest ringless athlete of all time

  • http://www.slamonline.com spit hot fiyah

    ^over elgin baylor?

  • http://www.offthebackboard.wordpress.com OTB

^ AI is by far from the greatest ringless basketball player of all time. Give me guys like Barkley, Malone, Stockton, or Ewing. Hell, even Lebron.

  • David Moore

Scary part about this clip is that it looks like he wasn’t even trying. AI is the best.

  • Maniac

Yeah Ivo is one of my favorite players ever, but he’s nowhere near the greatest ringless baller. That easily goes to Baylor. Cosign OTB with the other names as well, but I can squeeze AI into the top 10 of ringless players.

  • http://knicks.com Gametimeweezy

Best player at 6ft in the NBA ever… and I love Stockton’s game, I really do he played with passion, but there’s just something about a 6 footer leading the league in scoring soo many years. I see Iverson being able to run the pick and roll better than Stockton ever sniffing a 50 point game.

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

It appears he’s still got “it”.. =D

  • khroliks3

AI (my idol) still got it!!!

  • PeteRocks

Would love to see AI play on Boston, its a good fit for him to go out with pride.

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

    JStock’s better than AI.

  • http://www.facebook.com/#!/joe.l.brewer3 BlackPhantom

*Gasp* Somebody think AI is better than John Stockton?

  • Leon

before i visited the page, i assumed everyone who has gone here is a fan of AI. what i don’t get is that there are haters wasting time posting negative comments. if youre not an AI fan, you are not supposed to be in this page anyway. Think man, think! :D

  • robb

he makes it look too easy

  • OTB

AI is a more streaky shooter than JS. Stockton is a CAREER 51% FG shooter. If we take their best years for each statistical category, JS has 17.2 ppg, 14 apg, 3.2 spg, 46% from 3, and 57% from FG. AI, on the other hand, comes in at 33 ppg, 8.0 apg, 2.8 spg, on 45% shooting, and 34% from 3, and the mentality of a moron. Give me the short shorts man.

  • meloman2.0

    this is life

  • CARTEL

Still my favorite player in the WORLD!!!!!…Wish the Knicks would stop b.s.’ing and sign him (If we make it outta this damn lockout, of course…)

  • http://sportsnickel.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/silvastpierre.jpg Jukai

You know, that really wasn’t that simple of a cross, he ran STRAIGHT at Teague and waited until Teague reached out at the ball to do the cross in such limited space. That wasn’t a fast break hesistate-cross, he changed directions there a bit faster than I thought AI could still do.
Yeah, it was in slow motion compared to the old AI, but it was actually a pretty good move.

  • All Day

For the ones saying AI is the best 6ft in NBA history…have you guys heard of Nate Archibald and Isaiah Thomas?

  • http://myspace.com/gametimeweezy Gametimeweezy

nope who are they… no I LOVE Isaiah don’t get me wrong he did have a whole lotta heart and a few rings, played hurt and all. But no SLAM Magazines covers and he was 6’1″… lol but all kidding aside Isaiah was outdone by Magic and Jordan to me. Iverson was a lot like Dr. J of my generation and changed the game. I mean you can’t really compare him with point guards you have to compare him with the great SCORERS, not passers. Tiny Archibald cmon man I’m not going back that far bro I mean you could of at least said Muggsy Bogues lol

  • Jono

    OG

  • manu

elgin baylor has no mvps, 1 all star mvp and no scoring titles…….AI has an mvp and 2 all star mvps and 4 scoring titles ….i think we all know who the better player is…dumasses

  • MaxIsNative

He does things like this because he is Allen Iverson.

  • KING DAVID

omg thank u so much manu!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BillyJ

@manu… Nash has 2 mvps… Kobe has none… great argument. hardware does not equate to better players.
