Slamadaday: Micah Downs over Fran Vazquez

We hopped an ocean to unearth this goody.

We’re glad the NBA’s back…but that doesn’t mean we’ve taken our eyes off of the international game. Take this dunk for instance:

With his team (Assignia Manresa) down big late in a Spanish League game, former Gonzaga wing Micah Downs took his anger out on the rim. Unfortunately for FCB Regal’s Fran Vazquez, a former first-round pick of the Orlando Magic, he got in Downs’ way.

Despite the dunkworks, Regal hung on for a 74-61 victory.

    Jeez @do work why so serious…most of the best sports people in the world are black, for whatever reason, but don’t worry about it man white people will ALWAYS have bowling and darts…unless the Chinese start bowling or playing darts.

    No wonder he doesn’t want to come to the US and play, he was drafted by the Magic but still be getting dunked on by Spaniards, at least if you get dunked on by Kobe or Lebron, it wouldn’t be surprising but he just got posterized.

    I don’t really have a problem with the race comment, but saying “well blacks are the majority” is a dicey comment. Imagine someone pointing out a black CEO and saying “And he’s BLACK too! Crazy, right???”

    Race, Color, it’s all an illusion man. We all human, creation, I and I. We all different and the same. Truth. Me naw care if you yellow, blue, green, WE ALL pickney you AND ME be, for all the glory you brethen of I and I. How can one act black or white, or talk black or white? Think about it. We are limiting ourselves. Evolve, and get over the obvious. Dude did have bounce for a white boy though.

    ^Swimming is about exposure to water, has nothing to do with race. If you’re just limiting your comment on American black people. Look south of the boarder to the islands and in South America. It’s the culture not the race.

    @ Jukai: You do have a point there… Except sports, like business (and every other institution of American society) never discriminated against white people or disadvantaged them in competing against black people. Black people on the other hand… Well, we know that they were barred from competing with whites until the latter half of the 20th Century, sports leagues included. So not nearly the same thing.
