Video: Derrick Rose Converts Game-Winning Shot to Beat Lakers

DRose, FTW.

As the L.A.-Chicago game wound down, amidst an absolutely wild final minute of basketball, Derrick Rose gained possession of the rock with his team down 1 and 11 seconds remaining on the clock. And then, as you can witness above, he went to work. Merry Christmas, Bulls fans.

Two DOPE games so far and one wack one. Hopefully the last two will go down to the wire like the Knicks/Celtics and Lakers/Bulls. I know Laker fans are TIIIIIGHT!!

Thank you SLAM, damn you traffic…

One MVP stepped up, the other didn’t. Story of the game.

    nice.

  • shutup

Lakers fans gotta be pissed right now, it looks like its gonna be a long season for the gold and purple

this hurts for the lakers, they needed this win alot more than the bulls

  • robb

Kobe was a turnover machine tonight. He insists on proving that he can be equally effective with an injured hand and that’s just not the case. But Chicago played great D, specially at the end and DRose closed beautifully. Good game. I’m not that pissed, the game was close, I just wish Kobe made better decisions , but that’s the story of his life and that’s not gonna change now.

  • boboho

derrick rose is the man.damn that tom thibodeau trap was great plus with bulls great defense by bulls too.

  • Ben Ireland

An amazing shot, but Kobe not stepping up?
28, 7 and 6 is nothing to sniff at… His turnovers cost them the game but damn, he was effective. His knee looked great too, he was driving alot more than last year. Hope his hand’s better soon, maybe we can see one last MVP-caliber season from the Mamba…
All that said, D-Rose was great too, his 3-point shot looked amazing, and that winner was a helluva shot. Hope all the season is as good as tonight’s games. Lebron, Melo, Rondo and Kobe have all had monster games on Day 1. Big things indeed !

Nothing at all to be upset about as a Laker fan. Went exactly as I predicted. KB looked pretty decent. As did Gasol. Merry Christmas all.

    yeaaaaah bwoyyy!
shut up and merry christmas lakeshow!

Minus the turnovers, and with Bynum, the Lakers are a Finals-calibre team.

  • op

1.pau played well, but at end of the day he still soft.
dwight would catch the pass and even if wouldn`t he would block that shot.
2.the only way d. fish defends is taking charges.
good for the bulls. but whatever heat will win it all.

I think Deng deserves some credit, he came up pretty big toward the end.

  • http://averysmith.org Avery

Yes if you watched the game you’d know that the Bulls one because of Deng. Even though he traveled at the end, he came up with 4-6 points and a key steal when the Bulls cough * Boozer * were coming up weak. That was probably the first shot I saw Derek take in a while…yes, he came up big but he stands on the shoulders of Loul Deng. And Loul Deng’s no call travel… :-)

Bean’s turnovers, blocked shot and DRose aside, what did y’all think of Rip’s debut. Know he’s got some PA history with Bean and just about everytime they’ve played in recent years (when Rip actually played),they get into it. Rip has either been T’d up, ejected or lit up or a combination of the three. Struggled a lot tonight, with defending KB in the post and didn’t get his plays ran till much later. Guess, the Bulls haven’t really had time to work him in.

  • Niio

I thought the Lakers played pretty well considering they were missing 2 starters from last year’s squad. I thought the Bulls were gonna crush them. And the Heat had something to prove today. The Mavs seem like they were just content that there was an NBA season after all. Nice rally at the end but that game was never in question.

God damn, the last two games have been snooze fests. The first three games were great (Wade and Lebron were entertaining in the blowout, at the very least) but Orlando just camped it and the Clippers look… well, lazy

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

Not gonna lie, I’m a hardcore Knicks fan and I HATE the Heat, but the Heat look like they’re going to take it all. Especially in a short season when they’ll all more than likely will end up being healthy.

  • Allenp

The Lakers defense looked a lot better this year. They just were really short on offensive weapons.

  • http://dodgers.com Joey E.

lakers choked this one away. wow this hurts

  • http://www.facebook.com/gametimeweezy Gametimeweezy

    nasty

  • http://www.facebook.com/joe.l.brewer3 BlackPhantom

To be quite honest with you, that game made me feel a little better about the Lakers. Too bad we fizzled down the strect though, I wish Kobe wasn’t te only guy LAL really relies on in the clutch. But e looked really good(minus the turnovers). That wrist injury is hurting his ball-handling though…

  • Yesse

Lol, same Gasol as always and then Fisher is gonna guard D Rose in the last seconds, LMAO.

  • Mike From Spain

If the Lakers only got a defensive young PG… Lakers’ PGs don’t even handle the ball, it’s all Kobe. You only need athleticism there… why is Fish still playing all these minutes? He’s good but he’s old as the hills

  • AQWORD

Yeah Lakers choked TRUE. But if you look closely , after his nice fadeaway Kobe messed up , didn’t challenge Deng , didn’t box Deng out . Allowed the offensive rebound & the 3 point play. Turned the ball over to Deng & Rose took care of biz. Then took it into 3 guys to get stuffed like a Christmas Turkey. Word to your Mamba !!

  • http://www.optimabbc.be Max

Rip never got in the game because of his 2 early fouls.

  • MikeK13

If the lakers had DH12 that wouldn’t happen

  • matt w

Check the tape, Sang Dang travels. Yeah he stole it and Kobe turns it over, but turnover, period. Laker’s ball. Up one. 5 seconds left. Laker victory. Chicago cries. The end
