D-Wade helps the Heat to 3-0 start.


There were a lot of highlights in tonight’s Bobcats-Heat matchup, but there was only one game-winner. It came courtesy of Dwyane Wade.

    Id be giving the last shot to Wade over Bron anyway, i think most people would. Not a knock on lbj but i think Wade gets it done better with the clock close to zero, that boy is clutch.

    Lebron was great tonight… I thought the iso was strange because Wade went out with an ankle (or something I forget) injury but came back in. Guess he was fine.

    This is what makes MIA so good and why Bron/Wade co-exist so beautifully despite having similar playing styles. Bron and Bosh (to a lesser extent) were having monster nights while Wade was struggling but they were willing to give Wade the last shot. There’s no ego or me-first mentality.

    I loved the Cam Newton taunt at the end, because Newton was sitting court side during the game. Anyway, this is exactly how it should be, LeBron is the greatest player in the league until when it comes time to hit a game winner or huge shot (except Game 2 in the Eastern Semis in 09). No excitement after Wade scored? Lol…he Supermanned too. Last point: I wonder how LeBron will be seen as a dude who doesn’t take the last shot but is his team’s number 1 almost all other times.

    I was wondering how people would read this.
    If there is a drawn up play with options, Lebron is going to get the ball.
    If there is an isolation play for a one-on-one score, Wade will ALWAYS get the ball.
    We can debate Lebron’s ability to perform in the clutch for hours, but at the end of the day, even if Lebron was great he would rarely get a play call for an isolation. Wade is one of the best of the best.

    … BUT You can’t guard Bron with one guy on an Iso play, so there’s always going to be options when he got the rock at the end. (GET IT?) I think Wade’s got softer hands at crunchtime but it’s getting real close now as Bron’s lefty game is developing nicely this year & don’t get it twisted Jukai he IS great. He just don’t have the soft touch COZ HE A BEAST LIKE DAT !! :-)

    AQWORD: Obviously you will want to switch things up (Lebron iso’ing, Wade running a play) just to make things unpredictable… but rule of thumb, Wade for an iso, Lebron for a set play.
    Lebron is superior at the end for making a DECISION… eg, top of the key, two shooters, Wade set to cut off a screen, and a man playing Lebron to his left… what should Lebron do?
    Wade is superior at the end for getting a bucket… eg, top of the key, people are in places but there’s no decision to make: score it.
    If there was less time, Lebron probably would have gotten it to make that decision. But there was 12 seconds left and the Heat wanted a quick bucket so incase they missed, they could foul and have another shot. So Wade’s the best bet.

    I would not have switched things up last nite but i would in the future coz i know Bron can get that hoop on an iso, no doubt in my mind. Wade WAS the best choice last nite to take that shot fo sho & wer’e leaving it there. :-)

    Who saw Bron turning it ova like a highschool player then making up 4 it by chasin the boy down out of sight like STEVIE & straight up cancelling the dunk attempt. I’m sure SLAM will post it soon. They better. Play of the game to me though was Bosh’s block , Bron’s ill save & Wade’s calm finishing dunk. BIG TREY REPIN’ IT ! Like a Bosh anyone ?

    Couldnt have asked for a better 1st viewing of an Nba game this season after a 12 hour flight. Very entertaining, Paul Silas has the Cats sharing the ball and passing well ,too bad they dont have any consistent post play.
    Diaw played an excellent game, dishing, 16 boards (!? With that heft?), and i think Henderson needs more touches, he’s a scorer.
    Lebron moves much better than late last season, fluid and damn quick, made Maguette etc look like traffic cones at times.
    End of game was fun, Hendo hit that 3 , great out of bounds play by Silas btw, then Wade with his Cam Newton – Superman taunt, then Augustin with a horrid chuck (heroball alert!).

    It’s funny how Lebron gets called out for not taking the last shot even though the Heat wouldn’t of even had a shot if Lebron didnt ball out! Lebron won’t live down the finals against Dallas until he hits a 3 at the end of game 7 of the Finals to give the Heat a 1 point win and another championship. If that never happens, people will forever destroy him for “not showing up in the clutch”. DAMN SHAME!

    Can’t believe some people are still making an issue of who takes the last shot. Wow. When you have two of the best wing players to EVER play the game on the same team, you are not gonna always get the last shot. Even if you have it going that particular night. I think Wade explained it perfectly after the game on the advantage he had over Henderson on that last play. Dude was playing Wade too close and it turned into a foot race to the basket and like Wade said, “I like my chances in that situation.” LeBron had huge plays down the stretch in the 4th quarter as well as Bosh. First it’s, “LeBron doesn’t show up in the 4th quarter” and now it’s, “LeBron doesn’t get the last shot.” Haters gonna find a way to hate one way or another. LeBron will have his share of game winning shots this season as well. Some of yall trippin.

    1994 Game 3 of the ECF down 2-0 vs Knicks. Pippen refuses to participate in a play drawn up for Kukoc with 1.8 seconds to play because he felt he earned the right to take that shot. Pip got roasted for that sh*t.
    2011 3rd game of the regular season vs Bobcats. An iso is designed for Wade to take the game winner. Despite being the biggest reason the Heat had a chance to win the game, LeBron lets his coach do his job and takes up his position on the play in the left corner. LBJ gets roasted for that sh*t?

    I agree with LA Huey. Y’all putting Lebron on blast for whatever reason nowadays. Lebron put aside his ego and let the game flow. He let Dwade take the last shot as the coach drew that ish up. I’m hoping the Heat win it all just to see y’all dudes get back to loving the game and not hatin the player.

    It’s funny that people are hating cuz lebron didn’t take the last shot, but he still had a big role in that final play. If you watch the play unfold you see corey maggette play no help defense as wade drives because he’s focused on keeping the ball away from lebron. If maggette steps over to help on wade’s drive then i bet we would’ve seen lebron get a shot. But let the haters hate on.

They wouldn’t be in the game without Bron. They wouldn’t have won the game without Wade. Beauty of the TEAM concept.
