Videos: Best of Eric Gordon

On his 23rd birthday, we celebrate EG with a gallery of highlights.

Happy Holidays, everyone! And by “Holidays,” I mean the first day of the NBA regular season, of course. We’ve already seen Carmelo and Co. escape with a close victory at the Garden, and Miami crash Dallas’ banner-raising party. The 2011-12 season is merely in its prenatal stage and already basketball fans everywhere are glued to their TVs. Just the way it should be. But, lost in all of this NBA hysteria is a very special birthday boy: Mr. Eric Ambrose Gordon, Jr.

The Indiana product turns 23 today, and to honor Gordon’s promising young NBA career we’ve compiled 10 of his best highlights above. Entering his fourth season, the 6-3 shooting guard has barely flirted with his prime. He put up 16 as a rookie, 17 as a sophomore and a very impressive 22.3 points per in his junior campaign. Gordon has gained most of his notoriety through his unlimited range and sweet stroke, but as the film shows, the kid can fly, too!

As promising as his career is, EG endured a harsh reality during the truncated post-lockout free agency period: the NBA is a business. Change creates uncertainty, which is obviously unsettling, but Gordon will be handed the reigns in New Orleans going forward. It’s his team, and with so much room for growth, the sky really is the limit for Mr. Gordon. So, enjoy all of today’s festivities, but also take five minutes to pay respects to one of the L’s brightest young stars. Happy born day, EG!

one of NBA’s most underrated – hopefully in NO he will be an all-star

I’m reliving all of these moments.. haha
He was probably my favorite player on the Clippers (tied with Blake) and I was really bummed he was traded. Hope he becomes an All-Star in NO, or wherever he goes after his contract runs out.

Man, everyone wants to “break ankles,” but not literally unless you hate the guy you playing against. Steph Curry get better, dude. I pray for your feet.
