Video: Andre Iguodala Throws Off-the-Glass Alley-Oop to Himself

The Sixers forward gets creative on the break.

The 76ers easily defeated the Pistons Saturday night, a win made possible because of Andre Iguodala’s solid 10-10-10 showing. But not only did he put up a triple-double, AI9 also threw down this nasty off-the-backboard alley-oop, which he tossed to himself when none of his teammates were open in the middle of a first quarter fast break. Impressive stuff.

Javale Mcgee prolly sitting at home thinking ” WHAT THE HELL IS EVERYONE CHEERING ABOUT??? WHEN I DID IT I ALMOST GOT CRUCIFIED!”

  • james aka…

The difference is one was being a showboat in a losing effort while the other made a necessary play to manufacture points in a win. Probably the win and loss don’t matter, but the reason does

also iggy didn’t have teamates openly criticising him about the play through the media (e.g. john wall), which turned it into a bigger issue than it needed to be

    Javele McGee must be pissed…

Smart play.. He was driving the lane, jumped, looked right (noone slashing) looked left (noone slashing), your feet are gonna hit the floor in less than a second, no time to aim for a shot, dont wanna get called for travel, throw it and get it.. I dont think he was trying to “hotdog”.

Great play, you can’t compare it to McGee’s situation. Javale was alone, that was unnecessary. Here Iggy couldn’t do anything better than this. Nice IQ, amazing athleticism.

    But is it a miss + a rebound + and assist + a Score?

  • Paul

The fact that the sixers are winning makes It slightly different.

TMac did it better than anyone

Y’all remember when LeBron tried to do it? Thinking about it still makes me laugh

Just the fact that he had no other choice makes it different.

  • james aka…

It would be a missed fg, and a rebound, or it would be nothing. No assist. Also, you could argue that it was a bad play because you shouldn’t jump and then look to pass, but the improvisation was quite clever.

Not showboating at all. It was smart and necessary under the circumstances, but it was pretty ugly. VC did it best!

Got distracted by all those empty seats.

  • phillygirl109

    @tealish…blame the Pistons for that.

  • Quun

So is that 2 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist in that video?
