Video: Deron Williams Dunks On Roy Hibbert

DWill puts the Pacers center on a poster.

In the opening minutes of Tuesday night’s Nets-Pacers battle, Deron Williams found some open space at the top of the key, of which he took full advantage by driving forcefully into the lane and dunking the ball home with authority. Roy Hibbert made a slight attempt to stop the inevitable, though his rotation was so late that DWill’s momentum took him right to the rack before the unlucky Pacers big man had a decent opportunity to contest the dunk.

omg wow you 7,2 bro cmon son

  • Jaime Posted: Jan.31 at 8:38 pm
wait why was hibbert wearing that face mask tho?

  • RyanT1992 Posted: Jan.31 at 8:40 pm
Hibbert shouldn’t have even tried there, there was absolutely no chance he was blocking that.

  • ripslam Posted: Jan.31 at 8:40 pm
Dudes getting slammed on left and right lately.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Jan.31 at 8:41 pm
Dude has been balling the past few weeks.

Jaime, Hibbert broke his nose against the Lakers.

  • shutup Posted: Jan.31 at 9:14 pm
good dunk, reminiscent of KJ on Olajuwan, he shoulda got that block that sh!t was right in his face

  • shutup Posted: Jan.31 at 9:15 pm
I see why, he tried to block it with the left hand instead of the right

  • RyanT1992 Posted: Jan.31 at 9:18 pm
DWill had momentum building up from the three point line, Hibbert had two small steps. Hibbert is like a bug squashed on the windscreen of the truck that is DWill

Seems to be the week of the facials!

  • VanCityBBall Posted: Jan.31 at 9:25 pm
first there was LBJ over JLucas, then Blake over Perk, and now DWill over Hibbert… wheather or not that all of those dunks fall in the same catigory, the season was almost cancelled!!!! imagine if those dunks and the others to come never existed…

  • Mariano Posted: Jan.31 at 9:37 pm
    @shutup I think Hibbert’s left handed

  • quest Posted: Jan.31 at 9:48 pm
    hibb is right handed

  • shutup Posted: Jan.31 at 9:56 pm
then he needs to learn how to block shots with his right hand, I never understood the whole sleeve thing, especially on the off hand. If he woulda went with the right he coulda got a nasty block, Derron wasnt gonna be able to move the ball but hibert coming across his body gave derron the window he needed.

Meh, like the guy above me said D-Will had all the momentum coming from the three pt line. Roy Hibbert didn’t even have a chance to block that so this is nowhere near as impressive as Blake Griffin dunking on Perkins. We all know that if Hibbert was in good position D-Will would have been laying on his back.

    if blake’s is 9.9, this is 6.5

  • robb Posted: Jan.31 at 10:03 pm
    good to see Deron back.

  • Matt Posted: Jan.31 at 10:08 pm
Wow! Deron’s own version of Dunk of the Year!

  • shutup Posted: Jan.31 at 10:35 pm
Hibbert was in a good position and it wouldnt of took much to block that shot if he reached for it with his right hand, the momentum woulda worked against him, he couldnt move the ball from its path to the basket. I think Hibbert just went up scared instead of opening up and reaching for the block which woulda exposed his chest he tried to brace for impact using his shoulder and still try to get the block

  • nbk Posted: Feb.1 at 12:04 am
Hibbert had to go with his left hand because of the way he gathered his feet. It was just a reaction play.

  • tomtom Posted: Feb.1 at 12:58 am
lol nice analysis @shutup but if that is good position then how far out of bounds do you need to be to be out of position.

  • tomtom Posted: Feb.1 at 12:58 am
    on the money @nbk

  • shutup Posted: Feb.1 at 5:23 am
so your saying it was easier to turn and jump to try to block it with your off hand than it woulda been to block it with your right??? where else should he have been to have good position? he was a step away from the front of the rim, and again the split second it took to turn was the second he needed to block it, if you see the attempt with the left was behind the ball

  • shutup Posted: Feb.1 at 5:25 am
watch it again, he could have tried to block it with his right if he didnt turn his shoulder towards him, it really looks like he was scared of taking it chest to chest.

  • house Posted: Feb.1 at 5:58 am
Hibb prolly didn’t wanna get nailed din the nose again

  • #6marjon Posted: Feb.1 at 7:40 am
wish he’d do that more often

  • Pais Posted: Feb.1 at 8:48 am
What’s with all the “meh’s”? This is great, the same with Paul Georges impression of Domnique. And some of you guys are over analyzing. This is a real game, you don’t get time to calculate trajectories, there’s a guy coming at you, react. You’re about to make NBA.com’s top 10, only question is who’s gonna be the victim. The slightest hesitation or a sudden case of swollen balls is all the difference.
After being so pissed with both players and owners during the lockout I thought I was done with this but for all it’s faults I love the NBA.

  • dfrance21 Posted: Feb.1 at 9:03 am
Deron you sneaky bum you. lol. That little burst on the last dribble is what propelled him to the hoop, and caught Hibbert off guard. Hibb probably wasn’t expecting Deron to dunk it, so he didn’t really make a great block attempt.

  • LTH Posted: Feb.1 at 9:10 am
    Nice Dunk!

  • nbk Posted: Feb.1 at 9:45 am
Yeah DFrance, that seems to be how Williams gets everybody

  • MeloMan15 Posted: Feb.1 at 10:03 am
deron has dunked on centres before… this aint new

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Feb.1 at 12:49 pm
this is a good ol“ dunk. Nothing wrong with it. Always nice to see Deron THROW IT DOWN.

  • shutup Posted: Feb.1 at 2:02 pm
@house i didnt even think of that. @pais thats why teams practice so that the reaction is the right one, he decided to not give up his body(lol pause) and paid the price.

  • [...] top point guards. Deron Williams is coming off a 34-point game in a loss last night to the Pacers (including this monster dunk over Roy Hibbert). He’s a big, strong guard and it will be a major challenge for Knight to defend him, [...]
