Video: John Wall Dunks Over Greg Stiemsma

Jimmy goes ham on a helpless defender.

The Boston Celtics apparently have someone on their roster called Greg Stiemsma (he’s delightfully known as “The Steamroller” within the Celtics’ locker room). John Wall introduced this fella to the basketball-watching world last night.

    Shawn Kemp would have gotten a 5 game suspension for the Lister Blister reaction if this deserved a tech.
    The SteamRoller was ballin last night though. If he can keep it up he’ll help the C’s a lot since we all know Jermaine O’Neal is due to miss a bunch of games.

    I was at this game last night, dunk was crazy but let’s look and see what really mattered ….John Wall shot 4 for 13 w/ 8 dimes 7 TURNOVERS and Lost…He wasn’t even a factor for most of the game…Stiemsma shot 5 for 7 w/2 blocks and 7 boards!

    It was a good dunk over a player who was late to transition. Would have been more impressive if he would have truly dunked on/over a player. I’m not a fan of unnecessary stare-downs, so don’t have a problem if they are called for technicals, but if they call them, they need to be called consistently.

    I hate it when there is a post titled ‘Jimmy goes ham on a helpless defender’, when this defender contests shots, blocks three of them and gets seven rebounds. I understand that Wall got him in this situation, but he has to learn that respect will come through wins, constant effort, efficency and not staring at a dude that doesn’t care.

    It’s cool and I understand. The Stiemsma package of him blocking everyone on the Wizards at least once on the back-to-back was too long to put together. Wash better get Wall some real teammates and better coach/veteran soon or his progression may become stagnant. I wonder if Bos is going to embrace Greg? I mean a big white guy who excels in limited mins, I dunno Scal left big shoes to fill…

    Wall, Nick Young and McGee need to get the bulk of the minutes. they are the only ones on that team that have cohesion. Blatche is a chemistry killer. Shard is tenative. And Jordan Crawford is a world class chucker.

    But Jordan Crawford is also their best perimeter defender. And he hustles. Two things you cannot say about Nick Young, who is also a world class chucker.

    Young, and it’s not even close. And, Young passes the rock when he doesn’t have a good look. I watched Crawford jack bad shot after bad shot the other night. Open teammates begging for the ball.

    The classic one was the game in Wash where Jordan air balled a 3 (by 4-5 feet), which was met by silence from the announcers, he gets the ball back somehow and barely grazes the rim from equally as far to then get a “and Crawford hits the rim.” I dunno it was just the cadence and tone that made so unintentionally funny…

    That I am not arguing. I’m just saying Crawford does more than just try and score. I think that’s why Flip Saunders plays him so many minutes. I also think Flip should be canned.

    Stiemsma can play. But that was a b.s tech. And I a C’s fan. Wall had every right to be pissed. Wiz have some talent, but they’re a mess on offense. Unless they get out on the break they don’t have anyone directing them in the halfcourt. They might come in time for Wall, but right now they just have to run & gun. (Sorry Gil, I had to get a Bullets reference in there…)
