Video: JR Smith Breaks Three Pairs of Ankles

Including a Steph Marbury sighting!

Despite being stuck in China, JR Smith is making the best of his time by demoralizing defenders with vicious crossovers. Last night in Beijing, Smith made three of his opponents (including Starbury) look like they were on ice skates. Check the video above to see JR in all his splendor. Also, shout out to Steph for the 45/12/10 effort—we see you.

How’s he doing with his triple doubles?

  • Mariano Posted: Jan.19 at 1:04 pm
From what I’ve seen on Twitter, Chinese fans hate JR

  • Huami Posted: Jan.19 at 1:07 pm
Starbury had 45/12/10? Wow. Thats amazing, its not like he was playing amateurs. Its the freaking chinese professional league.

  • BlackPhantom Posted: Jan.19 at 1:45 pm
It’s good to see Starbury still doing what he loves and managing his money well.

  • D12FSU Posted: Jan.19 at 1:54 pm

  • tomtom Posted: Jan.19 at 2:48 pm
Can’t stand this dude, overrated, big ego and a big fish in a small pond. Still nice moves. Good to see Steph tho! Legendary.

Love seeing Stephs stat line. He really got a raw deal in NY. As for Smith, and I usually try to just enjoy the highlight, buthe missed all 3 shots, including getting the second one sent into the crowd. Not that impressive.

“You’re too caught up in basketball, you need to get caught up in life” – Stephon Marbury

Umma use a Steph quote from those NBA Street series ankle breaker dvds. “Anybody can handle the rock. The question is, can you put it in the hole?” JR answered with a loud and clear no.

    Sniper alert.

  • mike d Posted: Jan.19 at 5:03 pm
lol @ the 2nd one getting sent back to the stands

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Jan.19 at 5:06 pm
man that first one looked painful. That guy got hurt, yikes

  • house Posted: Jan.19 at 5:12 pm
bad d, slight very subtle push off on at least two of them, very nice!

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jan.19 at 5:31 pm
Very nice moves. Just to be a hater, though, notice that he didn’t make any one of those shots after faking his man out. Lol.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jan.19 at 5:32 pm
    lol @ Chukaz.

  • Sean Posted: Jan.19 at 5:48 pm
That Chinese Pro League is about the same standard as D2/D3 NCAA….seriously low standard league..

HIT MY NAME TO WATCH THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE GAME

  • Money$hot Posted: Jan.19 at 6:10 pm
Million dollar moves, 2 dollar finishes!

  • Kobester Posted: Jan.19 at 7:54 pm
Explosive moves but weak finishes…..And looks like Steph has been adjusting fine in China, didn’t know he’s still in CBL.

  • ace-one Posted: Jan.19 at 11:06 pm
Ahh, if only jukes scored points. Can’t tell about the first one, but on the second he gets swatted viciously, and on the third one he bricks the trey…

  • VanCityBBall Posted: Jan.20 at 12:28 am
whats crazy is hes using the exact same move to break those ankles every time

  • ChipS Posted: Jan.20 at 3:46 am
Even though they didn’t drop, still had 39 and 9. Dude also had a 52 point 22 reb. game and had 57 against Marcus Williams. Even though Denver is doing well without him, still not as fun to watch George Karl roll his eyes back into the 4th row of the stands at every shot he takes. Rudy Fernandez is capable and all but he’s no JR Smith(coaches nightmare wise and basketball talent wise).

    Sickest stepback crossover!

  • Ugh Posted: Jan.20 at 6:36 am
    Clang! Swat! Clang!
Also, he pushed Steph plain as day.

  • Riggs Posted: Jan.20 at 8:50 am
he didnt touch steph at all actually.

  • alexrows Posted: Jan.21 at 3:48 am
sick crossovers, but how many points did he score off those? zero. a couple of missed jumpers and a shot rejected. the perfect example of style over substance. but still pretty sick ankle breakers. literally. I’ve never seen Iverson do that 3 times in a game

  • Ugh Posted: Jan.22 at 5:30 am
@Riggs – He must have slipped on the same puddle as Bryon Russell.

  • Justin Posted: Jan.23 at 1:24 pm
Thats because you were watching Iverson in the NBA mate.

  • Randy Brown Posted: Jan.25 at 11:31 am
What the hell are they cleaning courts with in China?
