Video: Jeremy Lin Crosses Up John Wall, Throws it Down

The Linsanity continues.

As we type this, Jeremy Lin has his third consecutive 20-point game, and appears to be in the midst of helping the Knicks grab their third straight victory. Who the hell saw this coming? We certainly didn’t, and on the play above, John Wall didn’t either, as JLin drives right by the Wizards point guard and throws down a mean dunk. Linsanity in full effect, if you will.

    What’s on his Jeremy Chin?

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com truth serum

s/o to jermey Lin but thats like the WORST DEFENSE IVE EVER SEEN!! is this really PROFESSIONAl basketball? charles barkley hit it head on this is a SORRY product being put on the court most nights. lol it disgusts me as a basketball purist

  • http://dimemag.com Royal

John Wall had a pretty sick dunk in this game as well. I hope Lin can keep this up….he was balling today

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Safe to say, kid can hold his own offensively.
10 assists with only 2 turnovers shows he’s getting more comfortable being the floor general.
Happy for him, being undrafted and having to deal with multiple pre-conceived notions (Harvard, Asian) good to see he’s got the talent to hang with the best in the world.
Hope he doesn’t have to defer too much to STAT and the black hole when they get back.

  • robb

    nice D Wizards

  • MikeC.

    Cue the hate…

  • shuref00t

@Steve Lin had a cut under his chin– yet he’s still so explosive, even that bandage couldn’t stick on him.

  • http://redoftoothandclaw.ca niQ

    Cue the it’s only 3 games…

  • Red

Guess you guys should hype Steve Novak now, he shot it better than Lin. Wall barely played D & the Wizards D parted like the red sea. Lol this hype is getting insanely annoying now.

  • MikeC.

    Only took 5 minutes.

  • Red

Having an opinion now means hate..idiots lol. By your logic you’re also giving hate. It’s my opinion that this kid is a fluke, he hasn’t met any real defense yet. Again you new York fans are desperate for anything.

  • http://www.michaelcho.com M Cho

I’m not ashamed to say I always wanted to see a little asian guard dunk in the NBA. :)

  • MikeC.

Opinions contain words like “douchebag” and “idiots” nowadays? I guess insulting people is the new debate.

  • MikeC.

I just like seeing success stories at any level. The kid just loves the game and the Knicks as a whole look like they’re having more fun with the kid on the floor. Could be the lack of ball-stoppers with Melo sitting out, but Lin’s playmaking is a big part of it. The game is more fun when someone can make it easier for you.

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

    The day defense died.

  • Jer Dawg

(Big smiley face) He’s playing very well.

  • MikeC.

@JTaylor – nah, defense died the day the L outlawed handchecking. Tonight was something…else. Not sure what yet though.

  • pdawg17

Nice dunk but that was like dunking at morning shoot around…wiz d was pathetic right there…

  • http://slamonline.com cold as ice

im not even going to say anything cray. obviously RESPECT the kids game.and he’s doing it without melo and stat. thats say 65-70% of the offense. regardless on 2bum teams and a west team in the t0p 8 right now.so im on my charlie sheen winning but on the remix LINNING!!!! WHERE’S THE LOVE??? (in my jayz voice)

  • riggs

@Red: utah doesnt play D now? stfu man, now youre just being pathetic.

  • http://slamonline.com 1982

I do think it’s been 3 games versus 3 subpar teams, but it’s not like he’s just playing sufficiently. He’s had 3 great games, even if it’s against poor defenses.

  • Jeremy

I usually love the underdog, and the unexpected surprises. I just am not that impressed, I understand what he is doing is special, but he is a Knick and I just can’t stand the way that organization is run. Having Melo and Amare on the same team is a travesty.

  • AD

jeremy lin > derrick rose BOOK IT!

  • MikeC.

    @AD – bazinga?

  • Red

That was a rebuttal not an opinion, but in my opinion u are an idiot. Utah played hard D on him..did you even watch the game or full highlights? Lmao wow sit down kid.

Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if Enigmatic is still saying, “Jeremy Lin aint ish.” I also wonder what the “lil” hater STRAW-MEN will be suggesting next…Be careful Knicks fans, we can’t be happy for Lin, or we are handing the keys of the franchise to him. ROFL

  • LaKid

The hell is going on in the NBA right now?

  • http://slamonline.com cold as ice

NEW YORK AND THE NEW YORK KNICKS, #1 HATED CITY AND TEAM IN AMERICA!!!! damn ya hate us in bad times and gd times. whens the hate ever gonna stop fellas??? IF THE KNICKS EVER WIN A CHIP I BEST NOT SEE YA DUDES AT THE PARADE!!! even though i bet ya got something knick stored away on a rainy day. smh.

  • Red

Nobody “hates” on the Knicks..what good times? LOL. Knicks are a sad, sad franchise & I enjoy watching them lose cause they’re annoying. GO BULLS

  • Rich

@Red: you obviously know nothing about basketball. Why do you think that defense was lax? Because when the penetration didn’t work he dished it to the outside and had Novak and other dudes droppin outside shots. Then he quickly adjusts when there is an opening and drives it in again leaving the defenders wondering whether he’s going to dish it. The Knicks spaced out well too allowing him to drive. Go learn some fundamental basketball before you go full retard on us.

@MikeC, there certainly are plenty of mental midget “douchebags” on here who can’t handle other people’s opinions without making it personal. That’s not an opinion, it’s a FACT. It is what it is. Some people just don’t have that prerequisite muscle between their ears that gives them the ability to disagree with others without being disagreeable. They usually travel in “gangsta” twitter packs and make on average at least 25 post a day here at SLAM.

Rich is “spittin” the truth. LOL

  • Lin4President

Linsanity: Team USA London 2012. Book it!

  • http://espn.go.com/nba/recap/_/id/310203019/miami-heat-vs-orlando-magic Jukai

Yeah, I’m starting to lean on the whole “this guy is an NBA point guard” deal. This is three games, and he’s averaged 25 and 8 in that three game span… I don’t care how bad the teams are, 25 and 8 is just god damn hard to average, especially in games you get the W.

  • Red

That’s when you rotate & you put D on the open man. Simple as that, if you see an open lane opening up you cover it. And don’t use the R word, to me that’s as bad as using the N word(+er). @Orange you seem upset, sorry I didn’t agree with your opinions which are the opposite of mine, but hey another fact: Knicks suck. LOLLLL

I agree to disagree, Red. lol

  • J.C.

Man why does every Jeremy Lin article have to end up with a hundred comments arguing about trivial opinions? Nobody’s saying he’s the next Magic Johnson or that he’s going to lead the Knicks to a championship; how can you not just be happy for the dude? This is real fairytale stuff, I don’t get why some people seem so bitter about his good run. And in terms of actual basketball talk, dude can actually run the pick and roll quite well as a passer while still being a threat to score, and that’s something that’s really been missing in D’Antoni’s offense.

  • Red

I think maybe I subconsciously dislike the dude cause he’s a rich Harvard kid. But I doubt it cause I liked him on Golden State(my 2nd fav. NBA team) & I highly dislike him now. Of course @Orange you can’t have an opinion saying Knicks don’t suck cause they do HAHAHA!

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

Lin is a good point guard. Is he a hall of famer like today’s elite PG’s such as Rose, Nash or Chris Paul? Of course not. But give the kid his props, man. He HELPED this team filled with D-League players get two W’s. Also the first player since LeBron James to get at least 20 points and 8 assists in his first two starts. So yeah, start the comparisons to LeBron James…

  • OTB

Honestly, you have a true hater to harp on this kid. He’s a true underdog…I don’t know where his career is headed, but I think he can be a serviceable point guard in the league. Whether or not he can adapt and play this consistently when defenses adapt to him remains to be seen. Also, keep in mind the BLACK HOLE that is Carmelo, as well as STAT-searchin Amare are gonna want the ball. You see how much chemistry the Knicks have right now without those two?

  • http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2012/02/07/is-lin-sanity-here-to-stay-in-new-york/ Matt Park

I was going to comment yesterday, but I decided to wait and see another Lin game… Seems like I was right on what I thought. The guy has a quick first step, a great understanding of how to change speeds, and a good feel for the pick-and-roll. As for his athleticism, I am not sure about it. However, I don’t think that it matters because he’s shown that he can finish at the cup. (But this is against opps. who are the worst in the league at opp. % at the rim). Not elite, but good for a point guard. He can penetrate for real, and a point guard who can penetrate and get to the rim is always a good thing. Against the Jazz, who are top 5 in terms of opp. attempts at the rim, Lin got to the cup and got his shot off 7 times. From 3-9 feet (the paint), he got his shot off 6 times. HOWEVER (and a HUGE one at that), this has been against league worsts at defending the pick-and-roll, which he executed well only because the bigs didn’t hedge well against him.

Click my name for an article that covers mostly what I feel about him; although, I do think he should play more than 15 minutes. I think 20-25 is ideal for him.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Chubachuchi

His stats the last 3 games are pretty impressive, you’re a hating fool if you don’t admit this. Still I think he has to prove his worth when he plays better teams but he’s doing pretty good right now. Kid can ball, great IQ.

  • @ZE35

He was stepping out in front of the screen? Didn’t cross nobody up

  • http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=pawtucketymca Gametimeweezy

To Red goes the biggest Knicks hater award… and we haven’t even won anything yet lol..
Possibly a Bears or Cubs fan as well? am I right?

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

Man, Lin is a good point. Is he a future HOF like today’s elite such as Rose, Nash or CP3? Of course not, but son can ball. I’m a HARDCORE Knicks fan, and they’ve sucked something horrible this year, so this little ray of sunshine is exactly what Knick fans need in these dark times. If you wanna hate on him cause he’s a Harvard grad (he ain’t a rich one if he’s crashing on his brothers couch) or if he’s Chinese, whatever. But don’t shortchange his game or belittle his role on the Knick’s recent winning streak because of that. Also don’t put the weight of the Knicks world on his shoulders. If he can go out and average 10 PPG and 7 APG, i’m grateful. And oh, by the way, he’s the first player since LeBron James to average 20 points and 8 assists in his first two starts. So yeah, let the LeBron James comparisons begin…

  • snasty10

showing steve nash like IQ in these last three games, plus i just picked him up off waivers, LINNING!

  • Rich

@Red: sorry for using the R word, that was kind of careless of me. But if you look at the play again, there was no way that they could’ve rotated effectively with a guy comin straight from the top after beating his defender at that speed. I know it didn’t look fast because he is a pretty lanky lookin dude but if you put yourself in the defenders shoes it was a pretty tough decision fo them to make. They were already too spread out to jump in front of Lin and possibly allow him to get the “and 1″ which he has been getting consistently the past 3 games. So it wasn’t necessarily that the defenders were idiots. They ARE in the NBA after all. Again sorry about the R word comment.

  • Red

Na rich it’s cool my apologies too perhaps I trolled a bit. I deeply respect that you didn’t decide to be offended rather apologized. Heck I’ll admit it, I picked Lin up in fantasy cause melo is in IR just to test Lin out lol. Honestly if I weren’t such a Bulls fan I’d appreciate him a lot more perhaps. What I like about him is his passing, his shooting I feel still is a product of weak D but maybe I’m wrong. And apologize Rich I’m throwing idiot around and it’s ruining the discussion.

  • snasty10

can we as NBA fans just appreciate what this guy is doing? who cares what school or race he went to, the guy went undrafted and busted his a** to get this opportunity to show everyone he belongs in the NBA. You can tell he is enjoying himself is taking full advantage of this, because who knows how long its going to last, you just gotta live in the moment, and you can tell thats what lin is doing by the way he is playing. Can we also stop with the tebow comparisons, its not like he is shoving religion down our throat every interview (at least not yet) and winning in the ugliest way possible.

  • http://slamonline.com The Philosopher

    Sun Yue is better… lolol

  • ddubz

@ the ppl saying that he played against teams that don’t know how to play d stfu. Utah is a team with decent d and the nets…well he had dwill on him so don’t be hatin on the kid.

  • http://Www.slamonline.com TADOne

    A couple of observations:
    1) Wall was stepping out anticipating a screen so he wasn’t necessarily ‘crossed up’ by Lin.
    2) Kudos to Lin for recognizing Wall jumping out of position and taking hard into the lane. He has been coached well.
    3) Lin has a very quick first step and is pretty athletic.
    4) The kid has ‘it’. What I mean is he is a natural leader and communicator.
    5) Regardless of the competition, these are still pro players. Everything Lin has done is well deserving of praise thus far.
    6) The Wizards need to learn how to talk on D and rotate defensively. This is basic fundamentals you learn young.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k1jx3r4y1E dfrance21

It kills me when guys criticize a dude for putting up 20 and 10 against a “bum defense.” He’s playing in the NBA against other professionals, give him some credit.

  • Matt Park

Talking about your #2 point, Lin has done that very well so far… I think he did that at least three times against Utah, and I thought that was a very smart move by Lin.

On another note, Lin made me do a wolf howl like four times tonight… lol
I get excited by this kid.

split line defence = most basic defensive rule

step the F*ck up to the split

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Keep in mind that these are his first 3 career starts… like, ever. If you’re not impressed then you ARE hating. Period. Like Orange pointed out yesterday, his 28 and 8 were the most points + assists for a first-time starter since Isiah Thomas. I haven’t verified this fact, but if it’s true then there’s really no discussion. He’s obviously starter material. ANYONE ELSE and there wouldn’t be anywhere near this much skepticism… But also probably not this much support either.

  • jsmoke212

This kid actually makes the knicks watchable. Can’t wait to see how he handles himself against elite defenses.

  • http://www.slamonline.com blackvictory23

The kid can play; his game is legit. Leave him alone haters

  • flipnoyce

The dude is a baller. That’s all there is to it! Other big names in the league don’t even average 20 points. Regardless of what race he is, Lin is a baller. He might have just save the Knicks season to get that 8th seed in the East. He probably save NO D’antoni’s job too! I hope he finds a good home in this league because right now he’s still showcasing parts of his arsenal. 99% of cats in SLAM comments have never had the opportunity to play in the NBA so the most that they can do
(including myself) is hate. I got a lot of respect for LIN for quietly introducing himself to the NBA. Ivy league, Undrafted and being Asian(that is a big deal) “Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is LIN”

  • project_X

Take your time Amare and Carmelo, no need to rush..

  • Jono

I love this kid but that being said, the Wizards big men are some of the biggest pu$$ys known to basketball.

  • TonyStarks

Lin and Novak > Melo and STAT .. you can take that to the bank

  • TonyStarks

    .. lol

  • ab40

I don’t think he’s made a single left handed pass, it’s all righthanded from the right side. Besides it’s the wizards, wins againtst the wizards and bobcats come with an aterisk because half of charlotte is injured and half of DC is just Dumb.

  • Vilmar

Looks like he got that ben stiller something about mary juice on his chin! I guess that only proves what they say…all Asians ARE into bukkake!!!!

  • Myung

    Slam magazine cover?

  • Shifty

In that play he looked liked a asian version of Derrick Rose, sick dunk. didnt know he had that sort of hop in him!

  • http://www.blogspot.com LLC#12

The thing I don’t get about the comments section lately..why are so many people mentioning his ethnicity? Why is a players ethnicity relevant? I don’t know about anyone else, but ill watch 24 NBA players in a game play and not even notice what ethnicity they are half the time, nevermind comment on them being white/black/asian whatever..I’m not insinuating any racism from anyone or anything of that nature at all, I just don’t understand why players ethnicities are mentioned as much as they are? As an aside, I thought the first game was a fluke so its nice to see Lins streak stretch out to 3 games!

  • Jono

    LLC#12 100% agreed!

  • Myung

I agree with your premise, LLC, but I think it bears mentioning because he is a trailblazer. In this case, he is the first Asian American in many generations to make it to the NBA. Much respect to Wataru Misaka and Raymond Townsend, but both of them were before our time (I’m 34 years old). At the risk of comparing apples to oranges, much has been made of Tiger being (half) black, as well as President Obama. Any time someone breaks down barriers and/or stereotypes, his/her ethnicity will be mentioned often. I hope in the next 50 years, we won’t make a big deal about a President being black, the same way we embrace black NBA head coaches and black NFL QB’s… and perhaps we’ll see more Asian Americans succeed in the NBA, to the point where we won’t be glorifying them as some freak outliers like Jeremy.

Chicago fans pretty foolish criticizing the Knicks. I thought Chicago was on top of the world.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

happy for this brother. like the Tebow of the NBA. Sad my boycott of the NBA is preventing me from seeing his game on full display. Hard work and confidence. If he can’t find a permanent spot with the Knicks he’ll definitely be in the running for some good minutes on another squad.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

and who said dude wasn’t athletic???

  • Riggs

lol now this dude backpedaling cause he looks stupid now.

  • HeHateMe

Did I miss where Wall got crossed up? I just saw poor defense by John, no help defense from the Wizards, and an average dunk from Lin. Glad to see Lin doing his thing though…

  • l2ising Phoenix

Lin is playing without fear, this kid is out to show the league that he can ball . I don’t why people gotta hate… We can all relate to this kid. Being a diehard Knicks fan , I actually have something to finally smile about! He coulda packed it in when he picked up his second foul in the first quarter and then the world woulda proclaimed him as a fluke, but Nah the kid came out and dropped a double , double with 2 turnovers! I don’t care what yall say. The wizards are an NBA TEAM, stop down playing his production. If he wills the Knicks to a win Friday against the lakers… What are the Haters gonna say then? We shall see. #Linsanity

  • DeeDre

@Black rick in my opinion he’s nothing like the Tebow of the NBA. He’s warranted of all the buzz he’s gettin and it’s not even as much as people are making it out to seem. 3 straight games with 20+ after being relatively unheard of before. Tebow sucks for 3 quarters, has a couple of good passes in the 4th while people ignore the fact that the defense kept them in the game. But i see the point you make in the polarizing effect

  • DeeDre

@l2ising Because he’s Chinese. That’s why people are hating. Let’s keep it real. Alot of my friends have blind hate for the guy and discredit him without even seein him play just because of his race.

  • Canesta

Wasn’t it the same Knicks fans who said that Tony Douglas was going to be the point guard of the future after a few good games? Wasn’t it these same fans that said Earl Barron had a promising career after a few 20 and 10 games? Yeah we’ve heard it all before…Just remember Knick fans, your team is in third place in the division. That is nothing to cheer about.

  • DeeDre

    @Canesta we meet again lol

  • Canesta

    Bring it! lol

  • DeeDre

Lol i actually agree wit you though man. I’m not a Knicks fan; i just comment on all of these Lin articles because i’ve been following dude for a while. I can see why the Knicks fanbase can be kinda desperate for a savior but it is pretty early. Let’s see how teams start to play him when they actually, you know, start takin him seriously

  • Knicks

Lin, in his first 3 games where he has played 30+ minutes and 20+ points each game, is some how getting criticized by “haters”.

Each day, when a new lin article pops up people always say “ohh wait till the next game he wont do gewd den hahahah knickaroonies sux!”… then he does good.

Anyways, I’m glad this kid is on the Knicks, he’s amazing :D

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Dude killed. But again, why is Wall picking him up at halfcourt? Disrespectful. Pretty crossover though.

  • bike

Lin knows he can do that against the Wiz since there is always a good chance that McGee will get confused and run out of the building.

  • http://averysmith.org Avery Smith

Bummed I missed this game. I should have bought a ticket! These are my two fav teams. Wizards and Knicks. Anyway, as I thought, the Knicks needed a commander on the floor. Carmelo is NOT a #1. He’s a #1 offensive threat but he is not a floor general. Stat is a nice big man but he’s not the terrorist rim-racker he used to be. He’s changing from a Shawn Kemp type player to a jump-shooting old-man back to the basket Kevin Garnett type player. Anyway, I think they the Knicks have pieces but they’ve been just that, pieces. Could Jeremy Lin be the glue? Let’s hope so Knicks fans…let’s hope so.

  • Red

Lin won’t last, take it or leave it, doesn’t matter.

  • http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1991-05-05/sports/1991125101_1_basketball-referees-professional-hockey-puck nbk

I love what Lin is doing. I LOVE IT. But, probably should wait till teams have a real scouting report on him. And maybe, till he plays a team that is decent at defense. (The Nets are the 30th rated Defense in the league – aka last – the Wizards are 25th, and the Jazz are 21st). I am not trying to sound like a debbie downer, but the last three games just tell us that Lin is a good basketball player in a great system for his game. Other then that we know very little about him as an NBA player.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Is it safe to say that Wall is overrated now? Please?

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

    In John Wall’s last 2 games he’s had 31 & 7 and 29 & 6. What is overrated about that?

  • l2ising Phoenix

@Canesta, Douglas became “the point gaurd of the future” by default when billups was traded. Many Knicks fans had hope, because he WAS. Promising, but as we can see our preception of Douglas has changed. & Earl Barron who? Man, you make Knicks fans look like their complete idiots with no knowledge of bball. Earl Barron… Really? I’ll tell you one thing , your team? Philly? Are all hype, there not making it past the second round with Spencer Hawes and elton Brand up front! In my eyes Philly will decline before Lin does ;)

  • http://slamonline.com. datkid

cosign nbk… nothing about Wall is overrated. Jeremy Lin has yet to do anything against good defensive teams yet, so he still might be.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Numbers are cool; but I feel like the Wizards should be… wait for it… winning. From what I’ve seen so far, I’ve seeing nothing that a young, energetic, athletic pg couldn’t do from the D League… like a (GASP!) Jeremy Lin. This is second year, and he’s still pushing the ball at a million miles and hour.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

I will bow to the hype that is Wall, when I see him properly orchestrate an offense. That is all.

  • shutup

anyone saying that it wasnt a crossover is being silly, I dont care how you justify it he was hedging a screen (which Lin would have to make him believe he was going to take; then crossover and go the other way) or the floor was slippery, he was waiving to his mother, whatever, it was a nice move; Wall got crossed Perk got dunked on the NBA has been fun to watch so far this year, the Lin story is the silver lining on the knicks dark cloudy season.

  • MikeC.

@Red – apologies for going at you last night. My team was winning (finally) and the kid was showing and proving against his 3rd straight heralded PG matchup. It seemed you were just hating to hate. Hate the Knicks all you want. As a Bulls fan, I believe it’s your sworn duty. I just wanted people to acknowledge that the kid was doing something special with an extremely rare opportunity. I hate the Bulls (no MJ = 2 rings for Ewing), but I actually like the Bulls’ players. Exception of Boozer. I just don’t like game or his painted on hair.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

The Wizards roster is completely lost. They have winning talent, but they don’t have any brains. Basically the Wizards would be a decent open-gym team. Or men’s league team, where structure doesn’t matter. But once intelligence and awareness come into play, John Wall is trying to win a race while driving the short bus.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Hmm. I’ll give you that nbk.

  • Jono

And I thought John Wall would actually break-out and be an all-star on a play-off team this season :/

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Me too Jono. Perhaps that’s partially my frustration with Wall. Don’t let summer-league highlights fool you I guess.

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

Jono, Spaceship. Did you really think he was going to get the Wizards into the playoffs? I didn’t. BUT, I did figure he’d be good for 20,10,5 on 45% shooting w/ maybe 2 steals though. He is currently putting up: 16.5, 7, 5 on 41% shooting with a little over a steal. Disappointing, but I still think he’s going to be a top 5 PG in the L. Even with Kyrie doing his thing and all the other promising PG’s, Wall still has intangibles that should get him into the upper echelon.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Not the playoffs necessarily, but not with the team doing this bad either. This seems to be the era of the pg, and I don’t see him being better than Rubio in the future.. But that’s only my opinion.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Some of y’all could learn something from Red and Rich how to handle disagreements and deal with namecalling.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Changed the whole tenor. Kudos gentlemen.

  • Wes

TERRIBLE Defense!! Nice crossover and dunk but why is John Wall trying to go under the screen that far out ,tyson Chandler was not even out there yet before Wall start going under the screen. Can’t put all the blame on the help defense.

I play ball overseas so I know what im talking about.
