Video: Jeremy Lin Crosses Up John Wall, Throws it Down

The Linsanity continues.

As we type this, Jeremy Lin has his third consecutive 20-point game, and appears to be in the midst of helping the Knicks grab their third straight victory. Who the hell saw this coming? We certainly didn’t, and on the play above, John Wall didn’t either, as JLin drives right by the Wizards point guard and throws down a mean dunk. Linsanity in full effect, if you will.

  • Steve

    What’s on his Jeremy Chin?

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com truth serum

s/o to jermey Lin but thats like the WORST DEFENSE IVE EVER SEEN!! is this really PROFESSIONAl basketball? charles barkley hit it head on this is a SORRY product being put on the court most nights. lol it disgusts me as a basketball purist

  • http://dimemag.com Royal

John Wall had a pretty sick dunk in this game as well. I hope Lin can keep this up….he was balling today

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Safe to say, kid can hold his own offensively.
10 assists with only 2 turnovers shows he’s getting more comfortable being the floor general.
Happy for him, being undrafted and having to deal with multiple pre-conceived notions (Harvard, Asian) good to see he’s got the talent to hang with the best in the world.
Hope he doesn’t have to defer too much to STAT and the black hole when they get back.

  • robb

    nice D Wizards

  • MikeC.

    Cue the hate…

  • shuref00t

@Steve Lin had a cut under his chin– yet he’s still so explosive, even that bandage couldn’t stick on him.

  • http://redoftoothandclaw.ca niQ

    Cue the it’s only 3 games…

  • Red

Guess you guys should hype Steve Novak now, he shot it better than Lin. Wall barely played D & the Wizards D parted like the red sea. Lol this hype is getting insanely annoying now.

  • MikeC.

    Only took 5 minutes.

  • Red

Having an opinion now means hate..idiots lol. By your logic you’re also giving hate. It’s my opinion that this kid is a fluke, he hasn’t met any real defense yet. Again you new York fans are desperate for anything.

  • http://www.michaelcho.com M Cho

I’m not ashamed to say I always wanted to see a little asian guard dunk in the NBA. :)

  • MikeC.

Opinions contain words like “douchebag” and “idiots” nowadays? I guess insulting people is the new debate.

  • MikeC.

I just like seeing success stories at any level. The kid just loves the game and the Knicks as a whole look like they’re having more fun with the kid on the floor. Could be the lack of ball-stoppers with Melo sitting out, but Lin’s playmaking is a big part of it. The game is more fun when someone can make it easier for you.

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

    The day defense died.

  • Jer Dawg

(Big smiley face) He’s playing very well.

  • MikeC.

@JTaylor – nah, defense died the day the L outlawed handchecking. Tonight was something…else. Not sure what yet though.

  • pdawg17

Nice dunk but that was like dunking at morning shoot around…wiz d was pathetic right there…

  • http://slamonline.com cold as ice

im not even going to say anything cray. obviously RESPECT the kids game.and he’s doing it without melo and stat. thats say 65-70% of the offense. regardless on 2bum teams and a west team in the t0p 8 right now.so im on my charlie sheen winning but on the remix LINNING!!!! WHERE’S THE LOVE??? (in my jayz voice)

  • riggs

@Red: utah doesnt play D now? stfu man, now youre just being pathetic.

  • http://slamonline.com 1982

I do think it’s been 3 games versus 3 subpar teams, but it’s not like he’s just playing sufficiently. He’s had 3 great games, even if it’s against poor defenses.

  • Jeremy

I usually love the underdog, and the unexpected surprises. I just am not that impressed, I understand what he is doing is special, but he is a Knick and I just can’t stand the way that organization is run. Having Melo and Amare on the same team is a travesty.

  • AD

jeremy lin > derrick rose BOOK IT!

  • MikeC.

    @AD – bazinga?

  • Red

That was a rebuttal not an opinion, but in my opinion u are an idiot. Utah played hard D on him..did you even watch the game or full highlights? Lmao wow sit down kid.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if Enigmatic is still saying, “Jeremy Lin aint ish.” I also wonder what the “lil” hater STRAW-MEN will be suggesting next…Be careful Knicks fans, we can’t be happy for Lin, or we are handing the keys of the franchise to him. ROFL

  • LaKid

The hell is going on in the NBA right now?

  • http://slamonline.com cold as ice

NEW YORK AND THE NEW YORK KNICKS, #1 HATED CITY AND TEAM IN AMERICA!!!! damn ya hate us in bad times and gd times. whens the hate ever gonna stop fellas??? IF THE KNICKS EVER WIN A CHIP I BEST NOT SEE YA DUDES AT THE PARADE!!! even though i bet ya got something knick stored away on a rainy day. smh.

  • Red

Nobody “hates” on the Knicks..what good times? LOL. Knicks are a sad, sad franchise & I enjoy watching them lose cause they’re annoying. GO BULLS

  • Rich

@Red: you obviously know nothing about basketball. Why do you think that defense was lax? Because when the penetration didn’t work he dished it to the outside and had Novak and other dudes droppin outside shots. Then he quickly adjusts when there is an opening and drives it in again leaving the defenders wondering whether he’s going to dish it. The Knicks spaced out well too allowing him to drive. Go learn some fundamental basketball before you go full retard on us.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

@MikeC, there certainly are plenty of mental midget “douchebags” on here who can’t handle other people’s opinions without making it personal. That’s not an opinion, it’s a FACT. It is what it is. Some people just don’t have that prerequisite muscle between their ears that gives them the ability to disagree with others without being disagreeable. They usually travel in “gangsta” twitter packs and make on average at least 25 post a day here at SLAM.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Rich is “spittin” the truth. LOL

  • Lin4President

Linsanity: Team USA London 2012. Book it!

  • http://espn.go.com/nba/recap/_/id/310203019/miami-heat-vs-orlando-magic Jukai

Yeah, I’m starting to lean on the whole “this guy is an NBA point guard” deal. This is three games, and he’s averaged 25 and 8 in that three game span… I don’t care how bad the teams are, 25 and 8 is just god damn hard to average, especially in games you get the W.

  • Red

That’s when you rotate & you put D on the open man. Simple as that, if you see an open lane opening up you cover it. And don’t use the R word, to me that’s as bad as using the N word(+er). @Orange you seem upset, sorry I didn’t agree with your opinions which are the opposite of mine, but hey another fact: Knicks suck. LOLLLL

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

I agree to disagree, Red. lol

  • J.C.

Man why does every Jeremy Lin article have to end up with a hundred comments arguing about trivial opinions? Nobody’s saying he’s the next Magic Johnson or that he’s going to lead the Knicks to a championship; how can you not just be happy for the dude? This is real fairytale stuff, I don’t get why some people seem so bitter about his good run. And in terms of actual basketball talk, dude can actually run the pick and roll quite well as a passer while still being a threat to score, and that’s something that’s really been missing in D’Antoni’s offense.

  • Red

I think maybe I subconsciously dislike the dude cause he’s a rich Harvard kid. But I doubt it cause I liked him on Golden State(my 2nd fav. NBA team) & I highly dislike him now. Of course @Orange you can’t have an opinion saying Knicks don’t suck cause they do HAHAHA!

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

Lin is a good point guard. Is he a hall of famer like today’s elite PG’s such as Rose, Nash or Chris Paul? Of course not. But give the kid his props, man. He HELPED this team filled with D-League players get two W’s. Also the first player since LeBron James to get at least 20 points and 8 assists in his first two starts. So yeah, start the comparisons to LeBron James…

  • OTB

Honestly, you have a true hater to harp on this kid. He’s a true underdog…I don’t know where his career is headed, but I think he can be a serviceable point guard in the league. Whether or not he can adapt and play this consistently when defenses adapt to him remains to be seen. Also, keep in mind the BLACK HOLE that is Carmelo, as well as STAT-searchin Amare are gonna want the ball. You see how much chemistry the Knicks have right now without those two?

  • http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2012/02/07/is-lin-sanity-here-to-stay-in-new-york/ Matt Park

I was going to comment yesterday, but I decided to wait and see another Lin game… Seems like I was right on what I thought. The guy has a quick first step, a great understanding of how to change speeds, and a good feel for the pick-and-roll. As for his athleticism, I am not sure about it. However, I don’t think that it matters because he’s shown that he can finish at the cup. (But this is against opps. who are the worst in the league at opp. % at the rim). Not elite, but good for a point guard. He can penetrate for real, and a point guard who can penetrate and get to the rim is always a good thing. Against the Jazz, who are top 5 in terms of opp. attempts at the rim, Lin got to the cup and got his shot off 7 times. From 3-9 feet (the paint), he got his shot off 6 times. HOWEVER (and a HUGE one at that), this has been against league worsts at defending the pick-and-roll, which he executed well only because the bigs didn’t hedge well against him.

Click my name for an article that covers mostly what I feel about him; although, I do think he should play more than 15 minutes. I think 20-25 is ideal for him.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Chubachuchi

His stats the last 3 games are pretty impressive, you’re a hating fool if you don’t admit this. Still I think he has to prove his worth when he plays better teams but he’s doing pretty good right now. Kid can ball, great IQ.

  • @ZE35

He was stepping out in front of the screen? Didn’t cross nobody up

  • http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=pawtucketymca Gametimeweezy

To Red goes the biggest Knicks hater award… and we haven’t even won anything yet lol..
Possibly a Bears or Cubs fan as well? am I right?

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

Man, Lin is a good point. Is he a future HOF like today’s elite such as Rose, Nash or CP3? Of course not, but son can ball. I’m a HARDCORE Knicks fan, and they’ve sucked something horrible this year, so this little ray of sunshine is exactly what Knick fans need in these dark times. If you wanna hate on him cause he’s a Harvard grad (he ain’t a rich one if he’s crashing on his brothers couch) or if he’s Chinese, whatever. But don’t shortchange his game or belittle his role on the Knick’s recent winning streak because of that. Also don’t put the weight of the Knicks world on his shoulders. If he can go out and average 10 PPG and 7 APG, i’m grateful. And oh, by the way, he’s the first player since LeBron James to average 20 points and 8 assists in his first two starts. So yeah, let the LeBron James comparisons begin…

  • snasty10

showing steve nash like IQ in these last three games, plus i just picked him up off waivers, LINNING!

  • Rich

@Red: sorry for using the R word, that was kind of careless of me. But if you look at the play again, there was no way that they could’ve rotated effectively with a guy comin straight from the top after beating his defender at that speed. I know it didn’t look fast because he is a pretty lanky lookin dude but if you put yourself in the defenders shoes it was a pretty tough decision fo them to make. They were already too spread out to jump in front of Lin and possibly allow him to get the “and 1″ which he has been getting consistently the past 3 games. So it wasn’t necessarily that the defenders were idiots. They ARE in the NBA after all. Again sorry about the R word comment.

  • Red

Na rich it’s cool my apologies too perhaps I trolled a bit. I deeply respect that you didn’t decide to be offended rather apologized. Heck I’ll admit it, I picked Lin up in fantasy cause melo is in IR just to test Lin out lol. Honestly if I weren’t such a Bulls fan I’d appreciate him a lot more perhaps. What I like about him is his passing, his shooting I feel still is a product of weak D but maybe I’m wrong. And apologize Rich I’m throwing idiot around and it’s ruining the discussion.

  • snasty10

can we as NBA fans just appreciate what this guy is doing? who cares what school or race he went to, the guy went undrafted and busted his a** to get this opportunity to show everyone he belongs in the NBA. You can tell he is enjoying himself is taking full advantage of this, because who knows how long its going to last, you just gotta live in the moment, and you can tell thats what lin is doing by the way he is playing. Can we also stop with the tebow comparisons, its not like he is shoving religion down our throat every interview (at least not yet) and winning in the ugliest way possible.
