Video: 15-Year-Old Marcus LoVett

Ninth grader drops 55 points in varsity game!

After an incredible freshman season, Marcus LoVett has taken center stage among his peers in the Class of 2015. In just his sixth varsity game, the 5-11 lefty guard made a huge statement, dropping 55 points (or 57, depending on the source), including 10 in OT. LoVett finished the year averaging 33.3 per for Providence (CA) High. The hype has already reached a point where our friends at BallisLife say, “LoVett is already being considered as the best point guard prospect out of the West Coast since Baron Davis.”

Why was he wearing pink shoes? Breast cancer awareness? And why was that one kid wearing a yellow bow in his hair?

  • Mo

  • http://Roosterteeth.com Caboose

Kid reminds me of Brandon Jennings. A lot actually.

Nice eurostep at 1:05…Dwade and Ginobli would be proud.

Someone should warn him NOW to take the flash out of his game and just play ball. No room for it after high school. Ask Sebastian Telfair

  • Paul H

“Soprano the rock, handle like Van Exel”. Kid looks sick.

  • Fletch213

The yellow bow in the hair is probably a “Kippah” which is what jewish people wear.

  • LP

nice…i see some James Harden in his game…but where are the 55 points? This is what i tuned in to see…

The beats that Ballislife uses for their mixes are dope! Kid looks really good.

  • Canesta

@Kholiday wordddd Sebastian Telfair is a perfect example of why hype and flash don’t equal success. Not sayin he won’t be good but 15 years old is a little too early to get that worked up.

  • Steps Around Lue

@Caboose…I second your comparison to Jennings, he has the same shot. Marcus LoVett has sick skills. College’s will be drooling over him next year, if not already.

I see a left handed Kyrie Irving

    BALLER! Nice offensive game

  • Gregg

UNC would be a nice home for ya…

  • Bimmer

Thanks Fletch. Confused the f out of me but at least it matches the team colors. that’s kinda cool

  • Tim

flash is ok i guess as long as he`s not committing t.o.`s and winning. Lil Rondo or Skip to my lou

If the flair comes with the confidence I’ll take it all day every day. Kids scoring 55 on 17-18 year olds. Don’t hate on his game, that does no good for anyone.

  • Canesta

Grown men shouldn’t be this excited about a 15 year old…

  • Jamski

Brandon Jennings’ Mini-Me! But wtf is up with the teams he’s playing against??? Always thought Cali had a wicked level of talent.

  • IamYOU

He’s Like “My player” in NBA 2k12 LOL!

  • Bawse

I hope he makes it. I am not fully impressed. Those guys he played against looked like they belong on the debate or chess team. I have to see it against real ballers.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

I’m glad some people see it. There is nothing wrong with flash as long as it results in the correct basketball play. CP3, Rubio, Nash, and an in-prime Jason Kidd/Magic/Zeke all added a little extra to routine basketball plays . . . Nothing wrong with that!

  • http://slamonline.com Darkside

WOW! ok he good but abit flashy and many ncaa coaches are gonna put that to a stop quick. I’m sure UCLA got there radar all over this kid to stay home, I wish him the best and hope that he doesn’t let all his success get to his head, someone needs to tell him this quote ” TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN MUCH IS REQUIRED” I hope someone is teaching this young man to ready to always be HUMBLE!

    PEACE

  • marc
