Video: Kobe Bryant Hits an Incredible Layup Against Dallas

Amazing is his business.

Kobe Bryant’s catch and score off an alley oop toss from Pau Gasol last night in Dallas was patently absurd.

This was such an amazing play. Just awesome.

Wow. Until the last angle, I couldn’t even make sense of what he did. Looked like he caught it mid-air, flailed, and it slip out of in hands and in. Nice, Mamba.

  • robb

  • Paul H

Now THAT was impressive. Think you would struggle to do that NBK!

didnt he land before the ball left his hand? just wondering, not hating..

  • http://www.yahoo.com The Fury

^^no he didn’t, the ball his hand before his feet landed..I think.

    **the ball left his hand

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

I could never do that. Ever. That sh*t cray

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Pause it at 0:18, seems like his foot hits the ground while the ball is still in his hands. Not sure though. Anyhow amazing play.

  • freezy

Haha at least you can admit it today NBK thatta boy.

    myyyyyy ni99a…kiss tha ring(s)

Doesn’t matter if his feet hit the ground first or not – it would only be a travel if he had jumped with the ball in his hands.

  • LA Huey

Ah. Sxxmi, squashing the travel talk with some basic observation.

  • RickyRude

Dwyane does this kind of sh*t on nightly basis

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

It doesn’t matter if his foot hit the ground as SXXMI said. He caught an alley.
The presence of mind to take that shot as soon as he felt the contact even though he was preparing to just come down with the ball, and then the ability to make that shot are crazy.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

I for one never said anything about a travel (annoting smiley face).

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

    *(clever and annoying smiley face)

I was watching this game. JVG called it, gonna be the top play on sports center, no question.

    Excellent (Mr. Burns voice)

Not impressed. I just did that with my nerf hoop on my first try.

I had to watch it a couple times last night on espn, reminiscent of vintage Jordan, remember Jordan vs Bird on Genesis? he used to do that every time you did a lay up on the baseline. It could have been Bulls vs the Blazers in the nba championships, you know EA in the pre live days.

ehhh.. Yesterdays play was more impressive imo. I can finish like this easier than I could have done the around the back lefty floater swish. But were all different players and can do different things on the court.

I had a game of HORSE set up with Kobe tomorrow. I think I am going to cancel it now.

  • logues

nbk: sorry but i just gotta say this… i could do this play in a game (not saying i could do it against the mavs). in fact, i’ve made similar plays like this before during games. however, doesn’t take away the fact that this play is pretty dang sweet by kobe

  • logues

i shoulda just looked at Lakeshows comment before i posted… cosign Lakeshow. he put it much better than i did

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Uhm ok? I don’t care if you disagree with me. Even a little bit. Just like I said yesterday, I’m sure there are things that impress me that don’t impress you. Or don’t impress you the same. Who cares?

eh, i would of dunked that ;) .

On a slightly more serious note, how the hell does Brons hairline get so much attention and Kobe’s doesnt. I mean if your forehead goes back to behind the ears its time to throw in the towel and shave that sh*t off.

    Not bad…
    Not bad at all.

Kobe’s “hair” is barely noticeable it’s so short.

  • DukeFromDeep

@ NBK and Lakeshow. I could do both of those Kobe moves… not in the pros obviously. And I’m not hating. Kobe is an awesome talent, he’s just not someone I like as a player. Nice move but…

  • http://theinboundspass.tumblr.com David

nice lay up. Kobe’s an amazing scorer, and great in the clutch… as long as he’s not forcing it

Its friday Beehaches ! $#!t was aight. No need to j!zz in yer panty h0e$ over it.

  • OneStep

Amazing? Nope. Bad choice. Remarkable? Maybe. Good? Sure. Lucky? Most definitely. There are far too many superlatives used to describe basketball. Everything’s awesome, amazing, spectacular and great. Now each time I see a headline I automatically prepare myself to be underwhelmed and I’m rarely disappointed.

  • @Deknowz

    …Kobe your a liar!

  • Sam

Thats what I like to see! Makes me laugh that people are still hating after 16 years of Kobe playing some legendary ball. Some people even hate him and jock him in the same breath, lol.
