Video: Kobe Bryant Hits Left-Handed Leaner

A filthy shot as the clock winds down.

When he wasn’t sitting on the bench, Kobe Bryant was providing the viewing public with yet another flash of hoops genius.

  • Well DAYUM

I know a lot, and i mean A LOT of NBA players who cant do that

  • LP

i’m pretty sure 90% of NBA players can do that…These are the best players in the world, you think they can’t shoot basically a free throw with their left?? you’d be suprised…

  • Well DAYUM

Double teamed with 3 seconds on the clock tho?

nbk will u try this in your rec league? video would be dope

  • LP

you’d be suprised…crazy shot tho… Also, Kobe, pass the ball…

    Well i am ambidextrous. So…

  • MookieBlaylock

LP has never played competitive hoops. Basically a free throw? The difficulty on this shot is HIGH. Kobe made it look easy, it aint.

It’s an easy shot for Kobe buff said.

I would be 1 for 10 doing that move on my own, let alone in a game. That’s a nice move.

  • LP

He said: “Alot of NBA players CAN’T do that”… I said: “Yea, 90% probably can..” …i’m sorry, i can shoot with both hands, most players practice it routinely, if they had to shoot 10, they probably would make 4..TRUST ME…

  • rand33p

not in a game tho u fool.. u clearly suck

I was fully expecting this to be video of him punching Mike Brown in the face. Darn.

  • James Aka…

THat was a pretty remarkable sequence. that shot was not easy. Shooting a pump fake floater with your wrong hand heading towards the basket is not easy, despite the commentary on here. the tendancy would be to brick it hard because of your body trajectory. that was followed by a half court heave that was very close to going in.

  • bike

He’s got a guy wide, wide open on opposite end and he goes for the awkward contested leaner. His team mates must have been thinking ‘nice shot, dickhead’.

  • rand33p

5 rings… i think his teammates respect that

i just did this shot in HORSE with my friend and we both made it… its a difficult shot no doubt but at the same time its nothing special

  • DukeFromDeep

    Meh…

  • Black Skip

Van, you did it in a game of horse. with no d.

  • Marc

@VanCityBBall was two people guarding you?

  • Mike From Spain

Some shots are unexpectedly difficult if you don’t practice them a lot. And getting the shot contested makes it also more difficult. Not many players routinely hit floaters with their good hand, let a lone with their off hand while double-teamed. Just the effort to overcome the hustle from the first defender (sorry, did not see who it is) would most certainly make any shot more strained, and the subsequent double-team and shooting so late in the jump adds to the difficulty. The thing is , Kobe makes it look easy.

  • LP

ok, it was difficult, clearly… but to say that alot of players can’t do that, i disagree… MOST players CAN do this, but would rather simply pass for a better shot, but not KOBE, he has the leeway to try things like this… remember he hurt his shoulder about 5 years ago, and instead of passing to open teammates, he was shooting left handed while grimacing??

  • tomtom

lmfao LP clearly can’t play because anyone who can knows how tough that shot is.

  • LP

you idiot, i’ve said several times “the shot was difficult”… if you can’t fathom making shots with your off hand, you clearly can’t play… is shooting with your off hand that far-fetched to some of you guys??? most players don’t have an “off-hand”…
