Video: Derrick Rose Suffers Knee Injury, Helped Off Floor

Should he have been left in the game?

DRose suffered an apparent knee injury in the fourth quarter of Game 1 against the 76ers. Rose left the game with about 1:10 remaining in a 103-91 blowout win and is at a local hospital, awaiting an MRI.

    Should absolutely have not been out there. for ryhtm or not. U were up double digits, a bit over a minute left…why is he out there? U sit him down. Thats Coach Thibs’ first big coaching blunder all year. But it may very well be the most costly…

    He was taking way too many shots tonight. At one point he was 1-7 while the rest of the team was 15-20.

    @Rainman how is this coach Thibs fault? There’s no way you can predict whehter he would get injured or not. Sure they were ahead in the final couple minutes, but Rose didn’t have to jump like that and have an awkward landing; as sad as it may be, he injured him.

    i think it was the right move to leave him out there so it can shut down the 76ers mentally for next game because how was Tom Thibidow supposed to know he was going to get injured? how was anybody supposed to know? its better having him get injured now, up double digets in the first game of the playoffs, than say a game 5,6 or 7 early in the opening 20min…if this wasnt going to happen this game, it probrobly would have happend the next. i just hope DRose is alright tho because this shows how much one player can make a difference

    Thing is, Rose had to play himself back into shape/rhythm somehow. He looked terrible when he came back against the Heat a while back, and he had to get game time – and it’s a better plan for Thibodeau for him to shake off the rust against the Sixers than try to do it against the Celtics or Heat. It’s easy to say in retrospect that he shouldn’t have been in the game, but he has to play at some point

    Mack nailed it. Rose was bound to get banged up…look at how he drives and all the crazy spin moves he tries. Not even a top 10 player in my eyes anymore

    @ MAck: NOONE knows who is gonna get injured, but for waht possible logical reason is Rose out there when ur team has a win wrapped up, considering Rose has had a history of injuries all year, and has been fragile as the china plates in grandma’s cupboards? It happens to the best of coaches, it happened with Pop last year with Ginobili, right before the playoffs as well. But still an error IMO.

    Guys, I don’t think its his ACL.
    He was obviously clutching the side of his knee. Its probably his LCL if anythin, and he was able to put some weight on it, I’m guessing sprained LCL ligament

    that’s an immature play there. considering you had a lot of injuries this season you shouldn’t do that when the game is done . he did the same last year and suffered a lot. but as we see he did not take his lesson from that one.

    Injuries to young stars are nothing to laugh at. The condensed season is to blame and we all know both the NBAPA and Owners share blame there. Rose wanted to play like most Superstars would. Just sad is all.

    Sure it’s sad, DRose, like Jeremy Lin, are great down to earth, hard working class guys. But they’re not cut from the same cloth as guys like LeBron and Kobe. They’re flat-out animals and all time top 10 greats.

    This ridiculously paced season may prove to be the worst possible thing that happened to Rose’s career. Such a physically beating guys who put that much strain on their muscles and tendons take during a season like this. Especially Rose, who lives in the paint and his motion is so herky jerky. Smh, I hope he’s alright.

    This isn’t on Thibs. Wild, crazy season. He had to get back into rhythm and the Bulls, as his teammates said, wanted to send a message to the Sixers. Freak injury. Much like Shumpert’s freak injury. It happens. To the guy on here who said he isn’t even a top 10 player, stop it.

    its not that crazy, i think they have a good chance to get there. they still matchup well against boston or indy second round.
    as far as winning the east? sorry to say i can’t see that happening.
