Video: New Jersey’s Governor Says ‘Good Riddance’ to the Nets


Needless to say, Governor Chris Christie shed zero tears when the Nets played their final game in New Jersey last night. A fitting end to the team’s run in Joisey, one could argue.

    Why don’t people like this, he is just saying what most people in Jersey are thinking, what else do you want, the Nets have stunk that arena up on a weekly basis for a long time. Good riddance sounds like the correct sentiment to me.

    Ain’t no other place like NYC just like ain’t no other place like LA (shout outs to my wesside fam). That said, the Nets – like the Mets – are just a boring team to watch. Even when they made it to the finals with Kidd and ‘em, they were crazy boring for some reason. Hopefully now that they coming to my hood, they can shake that boredom. A good start would be to win the NBA lottery and get Anthony Davis to play along side Dwight and Deron. But that’s a long shot…

    Also I went to Jersey once about 6 or 7 years ago and really liked It. Still doesn’t stop me from saying that the entire cast of Jersey Shore should be slipped cyanide on set. Awful.

    @ ALD, i’m seriously not hating. I support all that’s NY and NJ, and as much as I supported the Nets when Kidd was rocking with them all the way to the Finals, they just was boring to watch for some reason. I liked Kidd and Kenyon, but for some reason they were a boring team.

    To address your second comment. You wanna know why other countries look down on us? We’re the only country yet to sign the Kyoto Treaty. Less than half our country believes in global warming. 26% of Americans believe they have received a direct message from God. We invaded Iraq under false pretenses. The highest paid person in the University of California school system is Cal’s football coach. Other countries have a reason to scoff at some of our laughable tendencies.

    Everyone has an opinion and they have a right to exercise it.
    As much as it pains you to listen to Nella’s comments it pains me more to listen to yours.
    I’m from London and i’m ok with listening to comments about the city whether good or bad. You need to grow up a little and be open to comments.
    But don’t come out with that REDNECK stuff saying duh! you gotta be American to talk about America duh!
    There is also a more than fine line between implication and presumption.
    Google it duh or check it the traditional way.
    On a different note its always a shame to see a team relocate but I hope the team does well.
