Video: DeAndre Jordan’s Monster Alley-Oop Over Tony Allen

The Clippers big man throws it down hard.

Tony Allen’s Memphis Grizzlies may have evened up their series with the LA Clippers last night, but DeAndre Jordan left a serious mark on Allen’s dome with this vicious finish.

I swear this is the only way he scores.

Annnd this is when the NBA decided Tyson Chandler would be the Defensive Player of the Year!

  • angus

like kenny smith said last night, “we will be more impressed when he doesnt score off dunks” ,this is nasty though

  • BlackStar

@Angus – Seriously! The players in the league are more athletic than yesteryear, but their skills have diminished exponentially too. All that being said, that dunk was rather disrespectful. Two thumbs up!

Deandre has shown that he can make some nice little hook shots around the basket with either hand, but he doesn’t get touches like that. They don’t need him to post up and score, just block shots, rebound and catch and finish around the hoop. He does whats asked of him.

  • Niio

Anyone else see Griffin look like he don’t know what he’s suppose to do in the post last night?

  • BlackStar

I watched this game with headphones on at around 1 in the morning on DVR because my girlfriend was asleep. I’m not even sure how, but I woke her up when this happened.

Dammit Slam, ^ that BlackStar post was me.

  • Billy Hoyle

The Clips “would rather look ‘good’ and lose than look ‘bad’ and win.”

@ Niio – yeah, pretty much everyone who has watched him all season knows this…he hasn’t really improved his post play at all this season. He can face up pretty well, but his back to the basket game sucks.

Also, cosign dfrance – DeAndre pretty much does what he’s asked to do out there. They don’t really need him to be a huge post threat.

  • Niio

@Wayno do you find STAT is the same way? He only has a face up game? If he isn’t running pick and roll he pretty much just faces up and jab steps or C steps his way to the basket.

I think his game is very similar to young STAT’s game. Fast break, pick and roll, and face up are his weapons…and jumping over everyone. Blake is a better rebounder though.

@Dfrance: get your logic and sense making out of here!
