Video: Russell Westbrook Scores With a Ridiculous And-One Shot

As the OKC Thunder made relatively quick work of the L.A. Lakers in their second-round matchup, they made highlight-reel plays time and again. Russell Westbrook’s basket after picking off an errant Ramon Sessions pass last night, was arguably the shot of the series.

The way the crowd erupted after this was amazing. The way he started out tho, I was certain Russell was gonna get thrown out of the game.

Surprised the ref didn’t give a tech to russel for the celebration but nonetheless good job to russel for following through for the and 1

  • Heals

Love how Kob got back on D just in case Wussel threw it back to KD. No one leads like the Mamba…

  • Drig

That’s what lets everyone know that you didn’t watch the game.

  • Heals

Yup, yup. Better than watching with your eyes open and your mind closed like your Beanbag a$$…

Actually.. Kobe slurpers aside (^^), Kobe really wasn’t running back on D to stop any of James Harden’s leakouts or to help on fastbreaks. He was mostly pointing out someone else to get back on D or not even bothering to do the Bynum jog back.

I know here on Slam Kobe does no wrong and it’s all his teammmates fault and, yea, he had a great offensive showing, but c’mon now. You had to have noticed that throughout the series.

Saw the game last night. That was a craaaazy shot!

  • Mike Mihalow

I was expecting something crazier. Meh.

That wasn’t even his only crazy and-1 shot. Incredible performance after halftime from Westbrook and Durant.

  • Drig

@jay………..I do know Kobe wasn’t running back. What I meant was about what Heals said about Kobe and how he leads the team……which he did try to do.

  • Drig

For the record, Kobe had a very average showing by his standards throughout the series, cost the team 1/2 games this series ( how different would it be ……… ) and wasn’t the most effective guy on both sides of the court. But atleast for game 6, he was the only guy along with Pau to do his thing. The team looked in utter disarray when he sat and with the way our bench was playing, the only spark from our backcourt. Kobe did all he should’ve done in game 6. Criticize him for his play during the series but not game 6.

  • Drig

    Game 5* dammit.

  • Drig

I meant game 5. Hope everyone gets the fact that it was a typo.

Quite an awkward post score celebration..

    Rose is still better.

    This was INCREDIBLE live.

  • http://www.twitter.com/_dfrance dfrance21

@Mike Mihalow had to see it in the moment, it loses its steam and context a day later.

@Max I thought the same thing, especially the way he felxed his hip the other night, I wouldn’t go around long stride stomping like that. lol But I guess when you’re that excited you can’t control your body.

  • SixURRRS

when Westbrook is ON he reminds me of Iverson.

This is was the game changer and moment swing.

  • Heals

Drig you’re a groupie at best and that typo was probably the most accurate thing you’ve typed in days…

If you didn’t notice Kobe refusing to play defense or make smart passes, then you weren’t paying attention. The scoring was on point though. But that’s all he did.

will it start a flamewar on this post if I say that westbrook and rose are equally talented? or can we all just generally agree on that and play nice?

  • Riggs

    *puts on flame retardant suit*
