Boston’s Mayor Happy to Have ‘KJ’ and ‘Hondo’ on the Celtics (VIDEO)

Despite his best efforts to seem like a big Boston Celtics fan, Beantown’s mayor Thomas Menino exposed himself as a fraud in hilarious fashion, by calling Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo  ”KJ” and “Hondo”.

Well… Hondo is John Havlicek’s nickname, so he’s KIND OF close. Still embarrassing though.

Also, it’s Thomas Menino – not Tomas Mehino. C’mon, SLAM.

Racist b*stard. He’d never get Tom Brady or Josh Beckett’s names wrong.

Actually this is his 2nd screw up, I think last time he mixed up Adam Vinateri and one of the RedSox hitters…

You don’t even have to be a fan. Does he not watch the news at all? He’s the Mayor of Boston, they have to mention both those guys names on TV or in the paper at least once a day during the playoffs.

He looks like he was joining Beckett and Lester for fried chicken and beer. Only in Boston.

how is it at all racist? lol

  • shuref00t

So not a fan of Jay Allen or Paul ‘The Fact’ Prince?

@ Da-REAL-Meat-Hook: No, but he did get both Wes Welker and Gronkowski’s names wrong. Dude gets EVERYTHING wrong and, on top of it, always sounds like he’s eating a roast beef sandwich while he’s talking. Sort of a mess.

its because hes old.. my dad askes me how to spell jrue every time he comes on tv

  • John

^ to be fair Jrue is a pretty ridiculous name. It’s even underlined for spell-check.

Maybe he’s just a total dork that has no clue about sports, but feels like he has to play along to get the vote. I mean, if somebody asked me about hockey, I’d probably mumble something about “that’s how you use a lockout to break a union” and move to the next topic ASAP.

If he’s that clueless about Celtics players in a sports crazy town like Boston, then we should be even more worried about other ish he’s confused about that relates to his actual job (crime, pensions, education, taxes, etc.)
