Nicolas Batum Punches Juan Carlos Navarro in the Nuts (VIDEO)

The French guard decided he was tired of Spain’s flopping.

Nicolas Batum believed Spain was flopping all game, so he decided to punch Juan Carlos Navarro in the groin to “give him a good reason to flop.” Uh, sure. Reasonable enough. Watch the French guard bring the pain in the video above.

    56 – 42 for the US at the half. Bron having a great all around game with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Leading scorer in the game is Williams with 13 points. Australia is scrapping and not giving up, but don’t have as many weapons all over the court as the US. Mills can only do so much.

    LA Huey, it’s Horry Jr’s teammates own fault. If they really wanted a pass they would have painted a picture of a basket on their chest. They need to be more creative than just waving their hands for the ball.

    I’m sick of all this complaining about flopping. I personally don’t like it but the solution is for the refs to watch the game and ignore it. Also, they should review game film and keep a mental note of the known floppers and start looking at all of their flailing about with a skeptical eye.

    The NBA should track, and post the video of, all the attempts to get phantom calls. No need for fines or technical fouls.

    Anybody else notice that all french national teams can’t lose without trying to hurt the opponents. SLAM dosen’t have it up but Ronny Turiaf thought an intentional foul equalled a tackle. The Spanish player had to be taken out of the game. Then there was Zidanes headbutt on Marco mattarazzi in the 2006 world cup.

    I was watching the game, Spain sucked and was going to lose. Then Spain shut down France in the fourth quarter (or they were shooting badly, who knows), and finally Spain was like 7 points ahead with about 1:30 left. First Turiaff hit Rudy Fernandez in a way that made him land hard. Now, Rudy has a history of back surgeries courtesy of Portland’s medical staff. So that sent Rudy out of the game, with lots of pain. At this point I was not going any longer like ‘pity about that France, better luck next time’. I was full on ‘suck it , frogs’. Then this agression (that is what it is) happened. I have now decided that the French basketball team is a bunch of sore losers who don’t deserve my respect. I might change my mind though, perhaps they are good kids who are just too frustrated by Spain routinely handing them their ass in a platter. Peace.

    there is nothing wrong about hard play. when turiaf fouls smbdy hard who drives to the rim then this is exactly what i want to see from time to time and really miss about pro basketball since the nba changed a physical game into a softer version of showcasing athletic abilities (oh please dont touch each other). but flopping has to be punished. you cant hit a flopper hard enough. unfortunately batum didnt hit him properly or shouldve gone for his face or throat whatever. leave this flopping p***y stuff at soccer where it belongs

    @MikefromSpain Rudy fernandez flopped and hurt himself by falling to the ground. The amount of contact with Turiaf did not warrant him getting that high of the ground and falling to the ground like that. If he hurt himself in the process that’s just what he deserves.

    I get the frustration, i truly do. France has been OWNED by Spain for a very long time. And they got outclassed at the last Eurobasket tournament final by them yet again, plus they already faced one another in the pre-olympic “friendlies”.
    But THIS WAS A DISGRACE!
    Horrible decision by Batum there, no justification possible. Turiaf’s was already quite bad, but one play later Batum decides to punch La Bomba in the groin area? Sorest of sore loser moves.

    I understand the frustration towards flopping but this went way too far. I wouldnt mind if batum would’ve given him a little shove or something but this hit was wayyyy too rough and physical. He should receive a fine for that hit. Way too dirty. Something like a Metta World Peace elbow on harden or bynum on barea…

    Tony Parker also flopped hard and refused to give his hand to Sergio Llull in a sequence of the game, and no one is calling that out. By the looks of it, Spain has been world champion, Olympic silver medalist and two time European Champions with this core by the sole virtue of flopping. Gimme a break, go watch rugby if you like tackles.
